  1. well saw the bassmasters magazine where bill dance went to a lake he never fished and they logged what he used when he caught fish, size and other info. so i thought it would be kool to do but on my home lake haha so here we go - where- ny lake when- sat may 25th 2009 air temp- 60f overcast water temp 65f Loaded up the coffee cup and donuts at 4:30 am . ya thats rigghtttttt launched the boat at 5:00am First cast with a terminator spinnerbait and nailed a 3lbs 2 oz.....new it would be a good day Started working my way around some docks and figured id stay with a spinnerbait since ive only caught 2 fish in my life on one. 5th cast into the docks and landed a nice 2lber. After a few sips of coffee decided to work the other edge of the docks and with some breeze comming in it felt like a day i would remember. then WHAM! thought my rod was yanked right out of my hands and i thought i had a 4lber on. but it was only a 2lber with lots of heart haha 2 more boats showed up and i decided to move to the other end and as i was reeling in a slam of a hit jerked at my rod. and a nice 3 lber came to the boat. maybe id stay in the area a few more minutes. worked a shoal was thinking how cool these spinnerbait hits are asa 3 and half lber hammered my t1. Finished drinking my coffee and had some breakfast then got back at it. It got white cap windy so i found a small cove where id get some shelter and man was that a good decision. starting catching fish ever few minutes and then switched to a creature bait since the water was deeper and starting slammin home for an hour. best part was 3 or 4 people were on shore watching like i was a bass pro ;D yanking fish after fish and they werent catching anything. they yell what you using and i yelled. Lures! haha creative i know. well the afternoon slowed down and became a lil cloudy as im delirious writing this at the moment on 3 hours sleep and 11 hours fishing but i did manage to catch this lunker as well right before i left...... heres the run Down best 5 fish-15lbs 8 oz avg fish 5:20 am- 3lbs 2 oz -Terminator spinnerbait 5:57 am- 2lbs 8oz- " " 6:02 am- 2lbs 2oz- " " 6:20 am- 3lbs 1 oz " " 6:48 am- 3lbs 9 oz " " 7:00 am- 1lb oz " " 10:25 am- 2lbs 14 oz " " 10:34 am- 1lb 2 oz " " 11:03 am- 2lbs 4 oz - curly tail 11:40 am- 1lbs 2 oz- T1 spinnerbait 12:00pm - 2lbs 11 oz - curly tail 12:05pm - 2lbs 1 oz - curyl tail 12:07pm - 2lbs 15 oz- curly tail 12:17pm- 1lb 2 oz- curly tail 12:26pm- 1lb 8 oz- curly tail 12:52pm- 1lb 3 oz- curly tail 1:20pm- 2lbs 3 oz- t1 spinner bait 2:17pm- 2lbs 14 oz t1 spinnerbait 2:30om 4 oz monster!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. obviously you could never prove or disprove estimates like this just curious what you fellas are guessing at. :
  4. has to be a jig or creature carolina rig. i love seein the line move and knowing the bass is thinking it got a free meal then slamming the hook home after that first exciting tap and feeling the weight on the end of the line.
  5. caught a fish today that had a worm hook in its gullet. couldnt tell how old the hook was but was able to get it out of the gullet with the gill trick. i felt pretty awesome that i was able to help out a fish that wasnt released with the hook removed. thanks to glenn. ofcourse t
  6. Heres a question thats gonna need to be an estimate cause i dont think theres a way to prove it. but i fish a lake around 150 acres that does have a good amount of trout and bass. was just thinking in a year how many times will the average fish be caught and yes released. im thinking around 10 then again i have no idea. t
  7. we thought it would be fun and it was. its easier to do as a team to make it more fun. my partner aka. mr fishsticks lost a 4lber that coulda made or lost the tourny and ill be roastin him for a while on that one ;D
  8. wonder what would be better a butane or a old school flame. just looking at fixing the tears of the heads of flukes and bursh hogs.

  10. haha so heres the lowww down. i was fishing a new spot in my area friday night with my buddy mr. fishsticks. so we were catching tons of dinks left and right which was still reallly fun. but we thought maybe we should go to our honey hole lake today for some real action. weve been fishing it so much lately weve felt comfortable in our skills and what we were able to catch. after becomming the fishing fanatics that we are and always thinking about doing a real tournament we decided to make up our own weight that we had to "beat" to win the tournament. even though it was an imaginery tournament it made the idea of fishing today a lot more exciting so we had the idea of writing down various weights from 12lbs to 17lbs for a 5 fish best. after ripping up all the pieces of paper with the various numbers on them we through them in a hat. being that my pb 5 fish is 17lbs i was obviously hopin for a low number. i pulled 16! haha. i thought we were doen for....we fished all day and we were focused and were fishing as though we were in a real tournament. so long story short. after catching a few small 2 lbers i felt good about getting the skunk off. we filled a limit of 5 and now we could cull. just the idea of being in a tournament was fun. we were marking weights and then releasing the fish. with an hour left we realized we were a lb off. we would have to catch a fish weighing 3-3 or more to cull our smallest and get over the 16lb goal. within minutes of realizing what size fish we needed i felt a tap on my carolina rigged brush hog and slammed the hook home. my line ziipped through the water and the acrobat was flying all over the place. when my net man landed him we were pumped that he was THE fish. when i weighed him out it only said 2-9! we both said thats not right so i turned of the scale and re zeroed it. weighed him again and it came out 3-4! it was awesome knowing that we beat our goal and Won the tourny hahaha. 15 minutes later i caught a 3-7 to set the day at 16lbs 11oz for 5. what an awesome day. anyone ever do that for fun? hopefully next time ill put the 12lb weight t ;D
  11. ive been using flukes and brush hogs and going through them left and right which actually is a good thing cause im catching fish so i wouldnt mind. but sometimes ill use a fluke on just one fish cause the head would tear. is there anyway that i could re melt it or glue it back together so i could use it on another trip what have you guys done? T

  18. weedless ribbit frogs? im not sure i understand that because i fish all my frogs weedless. wel i texas rig my frogs that include ribbit frogs and horny toads with a 3/0 ewg gamakatsu. but i do use the ribbit frogs that are around the 3.5 inch gategory or a lil larger at 4 inches. no bigger than that. so maybe downsize your frog for a better hook up. hope this helped somewhat t
  19. Hey fellas his a question that i will probably never need to worry about but was just curious. so what are the steps you should take if you catch a state record fish? and what are you also supposed to do if its in the catch and release season? we just opened up a huge season as catch and release in ny. so lets hear what you fellas would do T-
  20. My name is travis and i am a tackle junkie. the last time i used (my credit card) was 3 days ago. and i wont use again for a while! or until my *** order comes in this wednesday. i do agree with catt but my question for him is how much stuff does he own now compared to when he started. ive been fishing hardcore for the past year and learning as much as i can. the only way i can increase the stuff between my ears is to try what that bait monkey and the tackle junkie tell me to buy and find out what works when. and i like buying fishing stuff. hahahaha t- rage
  21. just curious if the d.e.c of ny or any state for that matter records how many fish of say 5+ lbs are caught. obviously someone would have to notify them about there catch. i caught my pb of 7lbs and change last year and released it. i notified them and they sent me a congratulations card thanking for the release and a pin thats awesome as well. i would think it would be interesting to know of the size of fish across the state that are caught in the year. ;D t-
  22. i like hearing the sounds of fish hittin the surface, the wind movin the leaves and just the abscence of outside noise. t.
