  1. When it came time to replace the two inflatable PFD’s in my boat, I wasn’t really looking forward to dropping a lot of coin. However, for me it comes down to how much is your life and that of a passenger in your boat worth? I went with a couple of these… https://mustangsurvival.com/collections/inflatable-pfds/products/hit-inflatable-pfd-with-sailing-harness-auto-hydrostatic-md3184-02 *btw, the whistle was a nice included feature that most would never think of being a necessary safety feature

  4. Hey! Happy Birthday Andy! Have a great day of celebrating and good fishing ?
  5. I’m gonna go with quagga and zebra mussels @Captain Phil, which allowed the Smallies to sight feed much more efficiently.
  6. San Diego Jam, Snell, Alberto, Palomar, and a Rapala Knot are my starting five. It’s been my experience the SDJ works with everything, braid, flouro, and mono.
  7. Well done @jbsoonerfan! The kids earned the money on their own merits and got a good deal thanks to you. We can all agree one doesn’t appreciate something until one knows how much work it takes to get it. I’m sure your protégés will be back next payday with more questions about tackle and fishing. Again, well done sir ?
  8. I’ve found these things kinda help with that and save passenger seats… https://eyesurrendernow.com/shop/ols/categories/wraps
  9. @Gary KirkDoes your Ghost have all the recent updates?

  11. Meguiar’s Mirror Glaze- Clear Plastic Cleaner with a semi damp microfiber towel
  12. All of um. * and while I did go into a little bit of detail, and contrary to some opinions it doesn’t take expensive gear to catch a PB and braid to leader does work not to mention time of day and lure type is gonna vary greatly. My previous PB was on a jig…
  13. Happy birthday @Hammer 4, hope you and Mrs Hammer have a good day!
  14. I caught my PB in early April right around noon while fishing Mildred, during steady 20-30mph winds, on a Okuma Reflections 7’H rod, Shimano 100B reel spooled with 65lb Power Pro braid to a 25lb flouro leader (Uni to Uni) slinging a 7” AC Mag Shad.
  15. I only brought it up as I figured Florida is similar to the Delta in how it fishes regarding punching, at least in my understanding of things. You can probably make a 7’ work, however you probably won’t work as hard and have more leverage when it comes to bigger fish with a 7’6” - 8’ rod. *There was something mentioned about the bait monkey and I just wanted get him pointed in the right direction.
  16. I use Tide Times, Windfinder, Lowrance, and Solunar Table-Fishing and Hunting. Heard good things about Windy, just never installed it.
  17. I’m surprised you don’t have a punch rod listed, something in the 7’6” -8’ range for leveraging those big girls outta there. Just a thought
  18. Yup, I love getting out on the water at first light. I appreciate and understand it’s importance of how it can be the beginning of a great day on the water, especially during the summer months. I don’t necessarily want to get outta the rack at 0300, but I do none the less to begin the morning fishing routine. I just hope for a good tide and cooperative fish. And of course there’s nothing like a sunrise over the Sierras and the promise it brings
  19. There’s a time and a place for every thing in one’s arsenal. The bass wanted a t-rig and the dropshot and you stayed with what was working. I’ll admit there are a day or two every year I want the fish to hit what I’ve tied on and I refuse to change tactics from my pregame reaction bait strategy. By the way if you were fishing Clear Lake, any chance those suspending marks were crappie?
  20. Take care of yourself @LrgmouthShad, your health is most important. The fishing will always be there
  21. I chuck trash in the boat’s cooler and remove it from there when I get back home. Trashed plastic baits might end up in a plastic water bottle to be recycled.
  22. The beginning of another great day at the office….
  23. I’d go with a package of cheap hotdogs, especially if there’s a swimming area at the pond you’re fishing. Soak a couple in your favorite red Kool Aid mix as a different attractant. A lot of those hotdogs BBQ’d for kids at weekend picnics at the lake seem to get dropped into water there. Chicken livers are a little bit more of a mess, but they work well. Good luck
  24. Pretty much spot on Tom! Granted, for me it’s $15.00 to launch and I can no longer get a yearly launch pass cause they were probably loosing money on those who were fishing more than once a week. And the one cost everyone forgets about when owning a boat is the “luxury tax” from the County Assessors Office. It was definitely quite a surprise when I opened that envelope ?
