  1. Most of the time I go to bed when I’m tired. Summertime I might crash a little bit earlier because I got 0300 wake-up for that morning topwater bite ?
  2. And right next to Clifton Court Forebay @fishhugger is Italian Slough, both of which can be accessed on foot. In the same area is Bethany Reservoir, which is part of the State Water Project, has easy access and might be another option. *Brannan Island State Park is currently closed by the state (open Saturday and Sunday 0800-1900) and you might be able to fish from the levee roads if access is allowed.
  3. Sorry @DFWO to hear about the injury, hope you’re healed up by spring when the big girls want to dance. The bait monkey is always willing to help with retail therapy so you’ll have all kinds of new gear to employ when you get back out on the water
  4. Dream living/fishing location! For me personally, I’m already there and “living the dream”. The weather is great year round here on the edge of the Big Valley with good bass fishing in the Delta and Clear Lake amongst others. And if a change of scenery is needed, there’s four International airports within a drive of an hour or two to get me there.
  5. Hello @JimmyTheGreek815 from Northern California, welcome Demitri to Bass Resource and the Forums!
  6. Hello @Bassnpanfish from Northern California, welcome to Bass Resource and the Forums!
  7. I was like a kid at Christmas when the UPS truck pulled up this afternoon in anticipation of that 8ft cardboard tube being placed on my front porch ?.
  8. @Jrob78is on the money, 955 is the GYCB equivalent of 420 if you are able to find it.
  9. All my gear will be 18 years older in 2040. I’ve got TD-Zillions that work like new and I’ve been trying to phase out of service my Curado B’s for a while now. It’s possible I’ll still be using them and since I’ll be in my 80’s that’s just fine by me. It’s still gonna boil down to someone with a rod and reel trying to hook a fish hoping the line doesn’t break, the hook holds until the fish is in the net. The more things change, the more they’ll be the same
  10. Tules or Primrose/hyacinth mats
  11. A nice service of remembrance for one of the greats of our sport was held this morning...
  12. Rest In Peace Dee and thanks for your contributions to our sport, gonna miss seeing you tooling around the Delta in your Ranger….
  13. It’s been said 90% of the fish are behind you…
  14. Good times @A-Jay! Glad you were able to get out on the water
  15. I bought a Vanford on eBay through asianportal and paid with PayPal, which collected the applicable sales taxes. The reel arrived from Japan in three days time. If you’re gonna pay any taxes on a reel or any other fishing tackle @Joe Henrymight as well take advantage of the favorable exchange rate.
  16. @A-Jay, I’m sorry hearing the news you and your wife received. I wish there was something I helpful I could offer but I’m at a loss for words
  17. I know what ya mean Tom, lots of smoke from the Castaic fire and the Mill fire up in Weed. It’s 103 right now so I’m gonna throw a couple of barley pops in the freezer and go enjoy the pool. Stay cool down there in SoCal this week
  18. @WRB, be happy to swap ya Tom, today it’s gonna 112 up in my part of the state. Hot is hot and it’s predicted to be triple digits all week long going into this Saturday. Have a great Labor Day and stay cool. Send that rain out west @TnRiver46, we could use it!
  19. I guess a better question is how many Legends are produced there since being acquired by White River Marine?
  20. Probably just as many as there are Legend boat dealers
  21. I’ve got a few bucket list things I’d like to do, some are reasonable others not so much; fish in the Amazon for peacock bass take the Mrs on a cruise through the Panama Canal take the Mrs on a return cruise to Alaska and the Caribbean make a Bass Resource road trip go to the Spring Training in Florida watch some baseball in some other Major League ballparks bass fish in Walt Disney World go to the Reno Air Races there’s probably some more things but this should keep me busy for awhile …
  22. Yamamoto Baits Labor Day Sale- 25% OFF SITEWIDE (excludes apparel) Use Code: LD2022
  23. I just bought some of the Rage Bugs in the Crawdaddy color and noticed the same variation in the baits. I was also thinking there’d be a little more orange based on the TW example. I just kinda shrugged it off thinking there’s a lot of variations in nature and I’ll let the fish decide * I had the same situation with GYCB Flappin’ Hogs and they got bit. Granted, it wasn’t as big a difference as the photo above
  24. The only safe bet as far as I’m concerned is if there’s water where I’m going and will it float the boat. Fortunately where I’m fishing there’s usually two high tides a day. It’s all good from there…
  25. With the current water conditions up there at Clear Lake and with this weekend heat there’s probably gonna be quite the algae bloom @Darth-Baiter, like Andersen’s Split-Pea Soup kinda green. I’d try fishing the deeper rock piles, drop offs or punchin whatever mats are available to you. Good luck, look forward to hearing how you did…
