  1. Grab your girl, a mapbook, a lunch and your gear. Hop in the car and make it an adventure. This is how I learned a majority of the lakes in my state when I was younger.
  2. Here's a great example. It's Saturday morning,....Ice is out on a few lakes as of last night. 2+ inches of rain. ...........Its 55 degrees in RI. I'll be spending the day at the new REI store answering all kinds of North Face questions about Gore-Tex, Hyvent, etc. My fishing partner Eric will be wearing his gore-tex as he makes his 1st casts of the yr. Welcome to the sponsored life.
  3. Heal up T. Take your time, better safe than sorry.
  4. Watching Zona right now. He has a guy out on some nice smallies and he just said somthing that makes a lot of sense. He just watched his guest wrangle yet another beautiful bronzie to the boat and the guy is just blown away at hoe much they are catching, what they are cathing on, and the fact that he is like a kid in a candy store. Zona said it well,...."Showing a quality fisherman, something as cool as today, ............is what it's all about, there's nothing better." I'm sure good guides experience this often and I know I do to as I fish with new people in a place that is kind of rare to most RI anglers, all the time. I wonder of tourny anglers feel like they are missing out on this side of fishing.
  5. Yea,...we gotta get you a life.... ;D Robert, $800?????? For heat in California?? :-? That fireplace kicks out enough to warm everything but the far bedrooms, I had no idea it would cost that much.
  6. Good to know. So just "starting" this grill will cost you about $5 in fuel, lol The good news is that it has the torque to pull your boat to the bar-b-que ;D
  7. See, I look at it totally different. If you are open enough to step outside and appreciate it, experience it, like RW explained, I think this gives folks a chance to understand us a little better. All the "Ha Ha's" and "it's 75 and sunny" reports are all unlanded punches with me. I feel bad for what the mono-climate people are missing.
  8. It's nice to see someone in the south appreciate the "good" parts of winter weather. I need 4 season's wherever I reside. Stay safe on the roads everyone, I know you folks aren't exactly prepared or experienced for this stuff. Gather the family, it's "stay home" time. And for all you truck owners down there,...a reminder 4 wheel drive allows you to get the traction needed to accelerate. Has NOTHING to do with STOPPING!! Increase your following distances, allow for a bigger "space cushion". That would merely slow us down,...."stopping" anything is going to take 15-20 inches before they begin to give it thought, lol
  9. It must be the food over there Too much wine & cheese 8-)
  10. Great news! Thanks for your support!!!
  11. This reply is right on the money IMO
  12. I don't use braid at home much but that's all we throw when I visit Redline. I think there is suffix on the majority of his set ups and I had ZERO issues with line on both trips out there. Keep in mind, I'm not the most proficient baitcaster either. Not much experience and nothing to compare to but fully impressed with it and I'm going to give it a go on a jig rod this summer.
  13. AWESOME Ken!! Is that a feather inlay on the far left one?
  14. Don't worry, the Karma gods are on it I'm sure...
  15. Although I Do have some good juice on the Div manager,....this is all legit. I'm union and we bid according to seniority. I got bumped out of this job last yr after 2 days of thinking I had it. That KILLED me! This yr they added 3 more of these positions so not only did I get it but there's a good chance I can have it next yr also. So now I'm in,...WOOHOO!!!
  16. Muddy, It's funny you mention Robert. 6 degrees of separation in effect here. Robert has a friend in Miami who is a DEA agent. He was part of the group that seized that very vessel. He was showing me pics awhile ago.
  17. Just got the confirmation that my first bid choice was approved!! I bid to work a split shift. I have been waiting a few yrs for the seniority to finally get one of these positions. Life at work will be much simpler. I come in at 3:30a, and work the preload shift, floating where I am needed and training when required. Then, at 7:30, I "Brown" up and hit the road with the EAM's (early morning airs, due by 8:30-9:00a depending on zip) ten I deliver regular air till 10:30. Drive back, punch out by 11 and I'm done for the day!!! This allows me to do all the shipping for the upcoming online store, at noon instead of 8:00 at night!!. Take a nap and be on the water for the 5-9 shift. Go to bed, wake up and repeat!! WOOHOOO I have the window to fish EVERY day!! So be prepared, we may see a few extra videos coming this yr. Between the new *** and this newly appointed job,.....I wouldn't want to be a bass at Lake "X" this yr!
  18. I'll try everything from an erratic swimming action to barely a twitch every 2 minutes or so. You need to figure out how they want it. For those who aren't familiar with some of these terms and techniques, this is a quick video I made a while back for Muddy. It's nothing special, just a quickie but the feedback says it has helped a few folks so give a look of you're not grasping this stuff. Jiggin
  19. Nice tip fluke. I don't have a live well but I usually have a cooler. I didn't know that sure Life also stopped gill bleeding. for that alone I will throw some in the boat for that rare, bleeding fish. I can empty the cooler and treat the fish, at least stopping the bleeding. thanks for the info. Great report MattM and way to help out Mr Fly
  20. Welcome aboard Rattle Head Baits!! Thanks for your support
  21. I went. I landed somewhere in Worcester...... ;D
  22. Gap Carpenters
  23. First time I did that, I realized that Barbie was taller than Joe. This gave me hope ;D
