I am looking to pick up a new reel and I have my sights on the Supreme 8030MG and President 6730XT. I don't know which reel to get, but the difference in price is only $10. I've been using the blue President and love the reel so I going to pick up the Pres XT, but for $10 more, here I am with this dilemma. I read that people have had issues with the deep spool from the Supreme as well as dirt easily getting into the holes of the spool. Can someone help me choose which one to go for? I might just see which reel balances my new rod better, but want some opinions first.

I'm fine with flying as long as it's not overseas. It really sucks when flights are too long. Having to be stuck in your seat puts me over the edge. I would stay up all night so I'll pass out on the plane... sleep for 8-9 hours... wake up... what?!? ...another 11 hours? *swear*

If you are looking for a softer rod then check out the Fenwick Eagle GT. It's about $50-60 bucks and for a medium action rod, it is very soft. I paired it up with a light spinning reel with 6lb line and fish the smallest lures/cranks.

Yes, it helps. Several years ago Wal-mart carried aerosol cans of House of Kolor paint for painting motorcycle helmets. The clear works really good on lures. You can find it online. SK RE's are poor quality but will out catch other traps often. I've bought several that the rattles were bonded into the plastic and wouldn't move. XCaliber will hang with the SK in catching ability but are much better quality with excellent hooks. I just opened 2 packs of the 1/4oz RE shads and the rattle seems to be very quite compared to my other ones. I wonder if a silent or less loud rattle trap will catch fish. I am thinking of sending them in to Strike King to get 2 replacements. I bought them a while ago.

Yep. I only carry Megastrike in my tackle box and to be honestly, I can't tell if it makes a difference or not. Maybe it makes fish hold on longer. I only apply the scent when I need lube to get through cover better. I will sometimes apply it when fishing is slow just to boost confidences. As well as to mask unwanted odour from something I touched, but that rarely ever happens.

I would love to be able to fish during my lunch break. Your so lucky. Even if I couldn't fish, it would still be nice to be able to eat lunch outside by the lake in the nice sun. Good fish.

The pond I fish is full of this stuff. I have to pick it off every cast that it becomes pretty annoying. I do very well with a weightless brush hog or senko. These are the 2 baits that work for me the most. Spinnerbaits come through it very well as well.

How do you suggest I spin the bearings? Is it okay to leave the bearings out to dry for a day after soaking it in Acetone?

I'm a crankbait junkie as well. Although I don't fish crankbaits as much, I keep on buying them... I guess I'm a crankbait junkie collecter.

My reels haven't been serviced yet this year because my season isn't over. I made this post having a bit of regret spending $30 bucks on 2 sets of ABEC 7 bearings. I felt like I should of waited until I serviced my reels. I'm usually not one to care for these type of upgrades, but I did it on impulse. I shore fish quite a lot so I was hoping this upgrade would give me more casting distance.

I used a oval split ring RE shad a few days ago and it didn't hold up too well so I'll assume nothing has changed. The chrome started to come off after 2 fishes about 14 inches. The area I was fishing didn't have too many rocks that the bait hit. I am not impressed with the finish. Hopefully even with the paint coming off, I'll still be able to catch fish, then I wouldn't care too much.

I am waiting on some bearings to arrive that I've ordered. They are ABEC7 bearings and I want to install them on my Curado E7 and Citica 200E. I have a few questions if anyone can answer. 1) I am currently using 2 brakes on and 4 off, will that change after installing the new bearings? Would I need to turn on more brakes? 2) Is it worth it to put these bearings in my Citica? 3) Can anyone tell me their experiences with this upgrade?

Can someone recommended me a good brand and size for fishing in weedy conditions? I usually fish in 4-5 fow, sometimes as deep as 10 ft.

I bet Ike breaks a lot of rods each year. From everything that I have read about him and seen in videos, he's just the type that doesn't seem to take care of his equipments. Swinging the big bass into the boat, hard hook sets, getting too excited, getting upset when losing a fish... I'm not surprised.

I quit smoking and it was one of the hardest things for me to do because everyone smoked around me and I'll admit, I did fail a couple of times when things got stressful. Don't cold turkey it. If I can give you advice, it would be to slowly cut down on it. Just dip less and less everyday until you realize that dipping is a waste of money and bad for your health. You've got to fight it when things get tough. It'll become a struggle for sure, but you need a good reason for not giving up. That will be your safety net when your about to give in. To help you, it is almost the end of the month. Starting in November, maybe you can take out a calender and write on it. Basically develop a strategy on how to be dip-free by the end of the month. See what is best for you. Maybe you want to have off days or slowly decreasing the amount you use through out the month... you get the point. Take some time to think about how you'll do this. I put the same VMC hooks when I buy custom crankbaits and they are very sharp. I might agree with you if you said that they bend pretty easy, but they are definitely not dull at all. Take it back and get a refund or exchange them.

Update: The prices for Eco weights went up to $4.99 starting it seems. This sucks because I was going to put my order in. Good marketing strategy, but d**n, a huge jump from $3.50 to $4.99. >
