  1. That was my first ever mistake when putting braid on to a baitcaster. Not only did the waste the braided line, it gave me a massive headache.
  2. Well said! Try a tube of MegaStrike for yourself. I think you will be surprised at how effective the product is. As a bonus, MegaStrike is very user friendly. 8-) +1 I'll like to also add that it helps keep unwanted scent off your baits.
  3. I'll definitely give this a try and hope that it works. If not then I'll call Shimano and see what they can do for me. Thanks for all the reply's. I really don't mind the loose knobs because it seems like all my reels have that same feel, but when the handle connected to the shaft is loose, it definitely bothers me. It's the popping feel that always break my concentration.
  4. I haven't really notice this before so I guess it doesn't affect the performance in any way, but now that I've notice it, it's starting to bug me. The handle of my Citica 200E is loose and it pops in and out of the part where it's attached to the main part of the reel. Does anyone else have this problem? I've checked my other Shimano reels and they all seem to be loose, but this one has a pop to it. The knobs are really loose as well making the entire handle part a loosey goosey feeling. Any inputs?
  5. No dude, I was just commenting on the McCoy brand. I was using Mean Green Braid, not mono. But I've never broken 20lb PowerPro like I did on the McCoy Braid. I was using 20 & 30# on several different reels. One time, I got a bird nest and the lure went flying. :'( I lost all confidence in this brand. I wanted to try the braid too, but the reviews on it aren't that great so I'll stick with PowerPro. It's not fair to judge the entire brand from just the braid experience alone when their mono is what they are known for. Give the Mean Green mono a try and you won't be disappointed.
  6. I have the 7' MH and I like it a lot for that price. I'm still looking for a Revo S to put on it so I can't really comment too much. I went out this weekend looking for a new spinning rod and when I picked up the Vendetta, I was not impressed with it. It felt very heavy and didn't feel balanced at all. I'm not a split grip fan in general, but all split grip spinning rods I've ever had or picked up feels very tip heavy.
  7. It doesn't seem like much people use McCoy Mean Green on this forum, but for those who use it, LOVE it and I'm one of those guys who will use nothing else for mono. I picked up a 1/4 spool of 6, 10 and 15 and they are awesome. I use the 10 on spinning and baitcasting reels. It's a very strong line with no memory at all. I had the 6 and 10 sitting on my spinning reels for over 6 months, took them out this last weekend and there was no memory. Impressed, I was thinking about changing the line. I'm not sure if leaving line on their for a long period will affect it's strength, but I'll find out. @ FishCat You are comparing Mean Green Mono to PowerPro Braid :-? Can you give a little more details because I've never heard a bad review on this line. I don't know about the braid or extreme, but the mono Mean Green is a winner.
  8. ummm... I always thought that fishing was the more peaceful thing in life...?!?!?
  9. I've been using the Paca Chunk and love them. They have great action, lots of colour choices, they are scented and they only cost $2!!! This year I'm going to try Chigger Craw. Very interested in this bait.
  10. oh wow... that was crazy...
  11. It's back up now... I was trying to get into my email for some stuff and was wondering the same.
  12. Buy the Symantec AntiVirus software and update it every few weeks. I have never had a virus on my computer since I bought it. Also try to always use firefox and update it to the latest versions as well. Then get Spyware Doctor and remove all those bad cookies that are on your computer. Usually if you are hit with a spyware or virus, it's pretty hard to remove them depending on the severity. Since your going to spend money to fix your computer when your infected, might as well spend the money on these softwares now.
  13. A *** lure haha...
  14. sweet i an do that haha + take a spinnerbait and run it through the grass as well, but I rarely fish spinnerbaits. My gf loves this because it's easy, but I never catch fish on spinnerbaits.
  15. Let's try this again...
  16. This is my kind of water we are talking about here. Up here in southern Ontario, most lakes are very weedy. Sub-surface: 1) weightless senko. 2) a crankbait that will tick the top of the grass, but won't get caught in it. 3) crankbait along the weed lines. 4) fish a rattle trap and rip it free from the weeds (haven't down this yet though) 5) t-rig worms 6) any type of soft plastic swim baits 7) top water You can do just about anything you can think of. Mats: I have no idea.. I wish I can learn how to fish mats, but every time I try I end up catch weeds.

I think he was referring to this which I guess you could call it the hook slot.
  18. Thanks for all the replies, I think I will exchange it for the 120 since I don't plan on doing much with it. I thought you can play ps2 games on the PS3. I read online about how you cannot play ps2 games on the 20gb, but you can on the 40gb. Obviously those were old threads, can someone clarify this?

I personally don't care for the red hooks either. I hate the fact that they start to turn gold. I'm not sure if these new red hooks hold their color betters, but I'm not going to spend money to find out. I do however replace all red hooks with black nickel.
  20. This system is giving me a headache and I've had it for only 2 days. When I first set up the internet it had an IP address conflict with my home computer so I had to assign the PS3 its own IP address. No biggy, then I noticed that every time I turn on my PS3, everyone in the house would lose internet connect, but can reconnect shortly. No biggy again, but for those who plays games or were downloading something got mad. I fix this by disabling media sharing after researching a bit on the internet. My system has also frozed a few times as well when I tried to surf the internet. Something about Java and when I clicked yes, it went to a black screen and stopped loading. I did update the system already, but why does it ask me something about updating system before the game starts, I can click cancel and play the game, but if I accidentally click yes , it freezes again like I did the first time. I do play games such as WOW, Warcraft, Starcraft online, but not so much on a console. I downloaded some demos on the PS3, but do I really need the 250 gb? I doubt I am going to do much than play MW2, surf the internet for fun and use the blue ray. What exactly is the hard drive for? I am deciding if I want to return this 250 gb, get the 120 gb and use the $50 on another game. One more question, can I play ps2 games? and are PS3 graphics better than PS2? I know it's probably yes, but making sure. PS2 games are pretty cheap.
  21. What lures or baits that has been discontinued that he wishes they still make? Any colours as well.
  22. Black and blue fleck in dirtier water and green pumpkin in clearer water. If I didn't know, I would just flip a coin and I'm happy with both. For plastics, I always stick with black and blue fleck, green pumpkin and watermelon... always... unless there is a hit color such as the baby bass for the senko or a motor oil on a home lake of mine.
  23. I bought my Oval LC rings on eBay. Just find them. They are about 3-4 bucks a pack of 12.
