I guess I'll be heading to the tackle shop this week to get a better feel of he rod. Thanks for all the help.

I've had some really bad experiences with braid on spinning reels and have given up on them. If I was able to manage braid, I would've kept my other rod and maybe the no stretch would of helped with my situation. I don't like fluoro and it costs too much. I've been using the same McCoy Mean Green Co-polymer line for 2 seasons now and it's been great. I haven't changed it once on any of my reels. It's strong, low stretch and absolutely no memory. I left a spool on for over 8 months and was very fishing able. I did pick up a bulk mini spool so I wish to put it to use. Is there something wrong with 6lb or using mono itself? I've been doing absolutely fine with this line on my other spinning reel (I have 10lb on it) and baitcasters.

Would this rod make a good overall rod for t-rigs, wacky rigging, drop shots, shaky heads, etc? I recently sold my spinning rod because I felt like I was missing too many fish due to the soft tip so I'm going to try a x-fast tip. I was wondering how the tip action on this rod is? It'll be paired up with 6lb mono.

Big M cranks and a few others....
I really like the sunfish colour you ended up with. Looks nice and I agree the green on the last bait is hot.

Rapala DT Flat Cranks - Discontinued??
Don't want to steal the thread but what are some of your favourite colours for the DT Flats?

Bass 1ft off the shore?
When I fish a pond without much structure or weed, I notice the bass usually hanging right on the edge of the shoreline. I'm not sure why it's there, but if the fish is spooky, stand further back and try a finesse worm or senko wacky rigged.

Inexpensive solution for crankin rod.
I agree on this. I was using my M rod for a really long time until I found a Clarus M, Mediun/Fast action rod. It has a soft tip and it has worked for me even better. I was at BPS the other day and saw a 7' ML St. Croix Premier baitcasting rod and though it would be an even better crankbait rod. A good choice I hear a lot of people talking about if the BPS cranking sticks and they go on sale every year. I did not pick this rod because I didn't like the reel seat. It was too big for my likes and the tip was pretty stiff so I ended up using my M rod until I found the clarus.

CHEAPEST Reel you've been impressed with?
Thanks for the review, I might pick up one of these as a spare for when a buddy who wants to come fishing with me.

Worst guides you've ever experienced?
Man... I use all Fuji Hardloys and Aluminum Oxide guides with the exception of a few rods. I took a look and it seems like some of my Aluminum Oxide rods have a marking on the tip, not a groove yet but looks like something is starting to form. :-[

tried new lake
I fish a pond that is very similar to your situation. It has a lot of weed and very hard to catch fish on anything other than a weightless t-rig or weedless wacky rig senko/finesse worm. Make your casts shorter and target open areas in the patches of weeds. If you happen to land on weed, reel it in and let it fall into the open areas. Work it slowly back to the bank. After a hard rain, the pond cleans up a bit as well. Don't give up. I am once of the few people who catches fish at this place. At first I had the same impressions. If the person said they have caught 3lbers. It's worth sticking to it.

UFC 118 (Penn v Edgar II, Couture v Toney) SPOILERS INSIDE
A lot of people have been talking about BJ's performance and I really believe BJ had no answer for Frankie. Frankie came out of the gates so aggressive and was the one who took BJ down 3 times. He has never been that good with his cardio and Edgar pushed the pace even harder in this fight than the last. Remember it's a 5 round fight. Even when BJ had his back for a second, Edgar was able to reverse it on him into guard. Great foot work, fast hands and BJ just couldn't catch him at all.

Bomber Fat Free Shad baits
A lot of the Excalibur series baits had some really nice colours that they no longer make. If you try eBay, you might find what you are looking for. Type in "fat free" and filter your search on the left side to outdoor > fishing. I found a few, but I'm not sure if you are looking for these. http://cgi.ebay.com/2-Excalibur-Fat-Free-Shads-Bass-Walleye-Pickerel-Pike-/390018145720?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5acee49db8 http://sporting-goods.shop.ebay.com/Freshwater-Fishing-/36145/i.html?_trkparms=65%253A1%257C66%253A1%257C39%253A1&rt=nc&_nkw=fat%20free&_catref=1&_sop=1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14.l1513&_pgn=1

Bomber Fat Free Shad baits
IMO, they are just inconsistent in product with these baits. I have several FFS in the suspending models and they do have different rattles in them, not only comparing the non suspending to suspending models. Some have a deeper rattle sound to them, some are louder and some are just noisier. I used to wonder why as well. I guess just keep fishing them and maybe you'll find out which rattle type they prefer on your water.

weed question
The lakes I fish around here are very weeding and I often get weed stuck on my baits every cast. Usually I would remove them from my baits, but sometimes there's this slimmy weed that gets caught on my bait/lure. I was wondering would I still get bit If I kept it on. I do put megastrike on my soft plastics, but same thing happens. Also when I rip my rattle traps out of the grass, I always come back with weed too. Any advice on how to be more effective?

Suspending models have red eyes. Also the Bill Dance signature is in red writing as well.

Post a song your feeling/why
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Who'll Stop The Rain - I have no idea where this song came from. I think it was from an episode from Married with Children. Anyways, I was fishing in the rain this weekend, while it was spitting this song came up. Kaskade & Deadmau5 - Move for me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4VcgT31iPHQ - Heard it on the latest episode of Entourage. I'm feeling this. Puts me in a relaxing good mood.
