  1. For me, it was a Mr. Twister single tail grub in the 3" size I think on a black jig head. I still remember that day about 15 years ago when I was about 12, I caught 3 pike and 2 bass. I took it from my friends tackle box and they stopped making that colour.
  2. Seriously, pick up the old HMG if you have a chance to. The new HMGs didn't really impress me much even though the price has been dropped. When I picked up the 6'6 MH, the first thing I noticed was that it was heavier than the previous version. The previous HMG is a very light rod in the $100 range. The new handle is a mix between cork and foam I think. It feels nice so if weight isn't an issue... you might like the new HMG, but they are the same blank so the only difference for me is weight.
  3. And i thought i was the only one. x3 x4 I remember when that happened to me. I was like awwww... crap!!!! I was night fishing too and couldn't get my birds nest fixed. I don't feel like you need to fish a senko on baitcasting gear, but like others mention, it works.
  4. For sure, my gf is using a Fenwick GT right now and I was about to pick up a 2010 GT for her until I saw the price of the Vendetta's. With all the great reviews on the casting series, I'm sure the spinning series won't be too shabby even if I find some minor dislikes.
  5. The Vendetta spinning rods are only $65 at my local tackle shop, but they are only available in a 2 piece. I was wondering if this would be a good rod for my girlfriend? I heard a lot about the casting series and plan to pick one of those too, but any opinions on the spinning series of the Vendetta? I heard they were on the heavy side. Which model would be right for her? 7' Medium, Fast action 2-piece?
  6. I have an energy pt casting rod and have used the spinning rod many times. I like the both rods a lot. They aren't talked much about, but they absolutely great rods. Give them a try, you can't lose. I am surprised they are on sale. For me, they went up in price from last year. I was going to pick another one up, but saw they were 20 dollars more expensive here in Canada and went with something else.

  8. Bulky? The Citica E is almost an ounce lighter than the revo. I haven't seen the new revos but compared to the revo s out now the Citica has just as small of a profile if not smaller. I'm not talking about weight. when compared side by side the revo has a smaller profile. I was just telling him in case that might play a role in his final selection The Revo also palms better in my hands and that's the reason why I choose it over the Citica. Although I think the Citica is a bit better in terms of lighter baits, I use my Revo to flip and pitch so it's not like that matters. Final answer... feel it out in the stores and choose which you like better.
  9. I will never understand why someone would pay that much money for a single bait. I don't care how much it's worth or what the reason is, no bait should cost $1000. Those people are insane to pay that much for a bait.
  10. All these celebrity stories are starting to get really annoying. I turned on the TV first time in a few days and all I hear about is Tiger Woods. Are people really that surprised by all this or are they trying to milk it for all it's worth? Everyone has their issues and sins, but we just don't know it until it's exposed to the world. I hope Tiger continues to play golf if he truly loves the game. He's going to lose a few sponsors, but I'm sure everything will turn out well for him. No one has a perfect life, just learn from your mistakes and move on.
  11. Yep, they are the same hooks. The only difference is the Excalibur bait hooks are black and the Tx3 are bronze. If you take an old excalibur fat free shad and compare it to the bomber fat free shad, you'll know which is which from the hook itself. Also some of the colors were different as well that they don't make anymore.
  12. These hooks are awesome. They are great on top water lures because they manage to hook on everything. Not to mention, they are super sharp as well. Give them a try and you won't be disappointed. The down falls for me are they manage to stick to everything very easily and hard to remove. As for fishing, love them on my top water, but I keep getting hung up on things with my crankbaits, but that could be because I suck at crankbaiting and lose a ton of baits.
  13. Awesome, I enjoy posts like these. Those were some pretty fish you caught. Did you rig the Fat Ika backwards? What colour were you using?
  14. Ha! Have you tried them on fish yet, Catt? Why yea caught my 12.8 on em but a bass can still throw it For me, these hooks are a love/hate relationship. I love them on my top water and jerkbaits, but I hate them on my cranks. They are the most dangerous hooks you can buy no doubt. It gets stuck to everything and I have a hard time removing it from everything down to the fishes mouth. I can't remember how many times I've accidentally hurt myself on these hooks when I was being extra careful. I cannot say that they are the sharpest hooks I have because I really don't know, but because the rotations on them, these things are deadly.
  15. When I was young, my dad never let me watch wrestling because he didn't like what he saw, but whenever I was over at my grandma's place, she would order me to turn to a wrestling channel. I still don't understand why he liked it. I doubt she even understood what was going on. Nonetheless, it was fun watching it with my grandma. The look on her face was priceless.
  16. I grew up watching wrestling and I stopped watching it 4 years ago after the 'attitude era' ended which was when Stone Cold was battling The Rock. Nowadays, WWE is PG rating so they cater to the younger kids. The acting and characters now are pretty bad and wrestling, I would say is quite boring. I no longer watch it, but I do respect them because their jobs aren't easy and the bumps they take can get pretty extreme at times. I still hate it when people say wrestling is fake, it's scripted and I am pretty sure most people who watch it knows it's not real, so wrestling fans don't need people saying "isn't it fake?" every time we mention pro wrestling. WWE = World Wrestling Entertainment. Speaking of UFC, I am disappointed that Shogun got robbed at 104, but that's a topic for a new thread.
  17. x2 I love this trailer. It's not expensive and is scented as well.
  18. I've only used the Booyah Boo Jig and doing okay with it so that's my pick.
  19. Just a little advice or food for the thought for next time, maybe make it a rule that when a person gets the box they have 24-72 hours(1-3 days) to reship it.If they cannot do it,do not participate period.I was kinda watching this one and not joining yet because i wanted to see how it worked and went. I feel bad for you that it didn't work out...I applaud your effort for doing this and trying to make it fun. X2 It's a shame that this didn't work out. It was a wonderful idea. Junior if you read this, you better come through with the package, no one really cares about what your excuses. There are 8 people I believe waiting for the box and 1 person who is at a loss. Take your picks and pass the box, it's not hard to do.
  20. Is that a LM Bass?
  21. Sorry to hear that, I plan on getting a boat too and I hope this doesn't happen to me.
  22. Just woke up and read this... great story!
  23. Simcoe is where the BASS Divisionals are next year and they are saying it will take 28-30 a day. And 20 pounds a day won't do much for you. Just have to wait and see. Lake Simcoe is definitely one of the hot spots in Southern Ontario. I get a chance to fish it all the time because it's quite close by to the urban/suburban area, about 45 minutes away. I usually fish the lower end of the lake on the Holland River for largemouth bass and they can grow up to 7-8 pounds in there. When I get the opportunity to go out for some smallmouths, 4-5lbs is not uncommon at all. They come in numbers at that weight, but rarely do they pass 6lbs, although many 6's have been pulled out. The favourite technique is drop shotting. When I get a chance to fish it, we use a bait called the Strike-Zone Slammer. It's a killer drop shot bait. I believe it'll take atleast 26+ to win it and 24 to have a shot at winning.
  24. This is honestly one of the best videos I've seen. It was very informative and I loved that Mike was fishing at the same time.
  25. Good stuff GMAN.
