thinking of picking up one of those cheapo econoscales(or the BPS brand) just so i could know the weight of some of the fish i catch. i thought about the ones with with hook that goes threw the fishes lip , but i dont want to be putting any more holes in their mouth than necessary. and the way some of the peacocks thrash around when you lip em , i dont see that going too well. what do you guys use?
  3. if i had to go back to mono , it would be siege.
  4. i was organizing tackle the other day and found this guy. someone have given this to me years ago. i kinda threw it in the box and forgot about it. apparently its hand crafted out of wood with a wire through the lure. it weighs about 1/2 oz and is 3 1/8 inches long. its from ahabs marine products out of miami , fl.
  5. i was thinking about picking up a thing of scent like megastrike but i would rather be able to put it in a bag of plastics than smearing it on each bait. does anyone put scents in their plastics bag to let them soak? what do you use?
  6. I'll give this a x2. I sent in a citica a while back and received the same great service as above.
  7. I guess its a confidence thing but I prefer as thin a line as I can get away with. The lakes I fish in my area are pretty clear and heavily fished also.
  8. Been using cxx as leader material for a while now but I'm thinking of changing up to something else. What I like most about it is the abrasion resistance since I fish lakes full of coral rock with steeeeep drop offs from shore. I've thought about floro but I remember reading something about floor breaking easy once its knicked. So I'm thinking a different copoly would be best for me. I'll be using it in 6 ,10 and maybe 12# test. Excellent abrasion resistance is number one priority with low visibility beig a close second. What do you guys suggest?
  9. Shell toe Adidas or reef sandles if I decide to get my feet wet.
  10. nice. i still have to check these little guys out. im also a horrible crank baiter lol.
  11. Thanks. Yeah , it was on the Fenwick with a saros 1000. I love the set up. The baby is doing great thanks for asking. I've been so busy with work and her I have no time to fish or forum posting. I'll post a pic another time
  12. ive been dying to get out fishing for more than an hour for a couple months now...and i finally did before work today lol. went to the usual spot and cast my fluke jr to a pair of peacock bass for a bit untill they had enough and swam off. so i decided to try for the LM. i rigged up a roboworm straight tail on a 1/0 ewg with a 1/16oz weight and cast it just past the drop off. i missed a bite on the fall so i recast. something hit it again , but i did a he-man hook set and broke the line at the hook (bad knot). so , of course i quickly retied and rigged up the same thing i was throwing....i got a bite and set the hook. as im bringing up this fish form the deep , i was expecting a smaller fish the way it was lazily fighting... that is until he realized what was going on. then he took off! we went back and fourth for 20 seconds or so with a few very nice jumps. i ended up getting my feet wet cause the water was so low i didnt want to drag him across the shallow water thats riddled with rock. i lipped him and snaped this pic.. 3-4 lbs i think but a great way to start the day. i need to find more time to get out there now that these guys are out again..
  13. Great reels check ffo tackle for the 600s.
  14. the peacocks seem to love the doa terroreyez when they are active.
  15. i was thinking the same thing when i got my bubble popper. imo , its a great idea.
  16. i have a 1000f that i love on my fenwick river runner. very smooth little reel with a great drag.
  17. x2 on the cut tails....errr i mean...what??
  18. check ffo tackle. They sometimes have good deals.
  19. light or medium light fast. You will be able to fish more lures effectivly than a medium or ul , imo.
  20. what part of miami will you be at? flukes , stick baits , brush hogs , finesse worms and lizards are always with me when i head out to the water. floating rapalas , shad raps and spooks are great hard baits also. shiners are always a good choice too if youre just out to catch fish.
  21. looks interesting. i got my river 2 sea bubble popper 65 in today. i wont be able to fish it for a while , but it looks awesome. also got a great review from tackletour.
