  5. Welcome. Do you have a piture of those fish?
  6. I have a 7' heavy Falcon low rider that I love. Has a fast tip that you can get loaded for a good pitch, sensitive and strong.
  7. X2 I have some 20# that I use for worming and pitching. Love it. I also use it on a heavy crankin pole for square bills when I don't want them to get too deep.
  8. SWEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!! Nice job!
  9. NICE!!!!!
  10. I used to use these a lot. What I would do is trim about half of the spring off and then trim the tube off to where it was a tad longer than the spring. That way the spring could not touch the line and the weight would release from the bait easier on hook ups and dancing fish. It tore up more lures, but that is why they sell them in bags of ten or more. That being said, I don't use them that often anymore.
  11. Everyone has brought up good points. Whether it's scent or taste, I believe they help. If for nothing else, covering up the human scent/taste. I agree with blue streak about the scent washing off. That would apply to the spray on scents. A bait that has the scent cooked in during the manufacturing process that does not apply. As far as the taste factor, I believe it is more of the salt in the bait that gives the fish that taste. Or the pork fat or what ever it may be. As far as being an attractant, I have my reservations on that. Attracting a fish solely on scent, maybe. I know that sharks can detect a drop of blood in hundreds of gallons of water, but is that scent or chemical recognition? I guess chemical recognition is technically what this is all about. Not being a scientist, I'll stop here Just my 2 cents.

The fish will tell you. Just the craw is usually a smaller profile where as the jig is usually a larger profile. Try a craw worm rigged on a jig head with no skirt. That is one finesse thing I do often. I use a small craw that does not have a lot of action. Works when other things won't.
  14. I'm just ready to get out on soft water. I have a game plan too. 1. Get the boat wet. 2. FISH! nuf said
  15. To be honest, that's the only reason I watch his show. Of all of the TV fisherman, he's the only one that seems to be genuinely excited when he lands a fish. It's almost like watching my kids fish. amen[/quote] X2
  16. Well said and thank you for posting it. That's the real deal.
  17. This is how we based our old club points. 100 pt base for 1st 99 for second 98 for third etc......... Then we added bonus points. Keep in mind we are talking about IN. 2 pts for a limit 2 pts for biggest fish The first boat that does not weigh fish and all after that gets 50 pts. Three years in a row we had the championship decided by 1 or 2 pts. I like adding the weight in like fishindaddy said.
  18. It's okay. They are assumng that all fish swim in salt water. e.g. SEA kittens. Maybe they should say water kittens instead. I think that would have a better acceptance. NOT!!! Get a life PETA!
  19. Between these two choices, SURVIVORMAN ROCKS! He actually shows you things to help you stay alive. Bear shows you how to make a TV show entertaining. For my time I will spend it watching Les and if I want entertaining, there are other shows to watch beside Bear.
