  1. Nice fish, and that reminds me, I need to bring a jig setup with me today when I hit the river so I can get some hair jigs wet! Great winter catchin'!
  2. Welcome! Big difference from Tx to Mass, huh?
  3. I'll be heading up to fish at the power plant today from about 11:00-3:00 if anyone feels frisky and wants to meet me up there. Drop shot smallmouth, here I come!
  4. I'm with Russ on this one, and go with Carbontex on all of them, that way, I get improved drag ratings and smoothness that is unmatched.
  5. My mother in law sells everything on E Bay, including old fishing lures for bass, trout and salmon, and she has done well with them every time she lists them. Good luck with your selling.

Nice ones, Paul. Looks like you're havin' a bunch of fun, and you can't beat that!
  7. There are so many things I love about fishing, but I gotta say, that the most rewarding, is when I pass some knowledge on to my friends, and they just light up when it works, and they land a hawg.
  8. Holy drop shot, Batman! Nice looking bait.
  9. Some seriously nice fish right there!
  10. If you want to sell off your gift card, I have a lefty Silver Max I'd sell ya for $40 shipped. Used it for one season, and I just keep it around for a loaner reel, but it's just sitting in my closet doing nothing. That would get you a slightly better reel, and save you some money.
  11. Nice one, Dwight! Seems like you catch the big ones no matter where you go.
  12. For plastic worms and stuff, you probably won't ever notice any deformities. You'll be fine storing them like that.
  13. When I tried that line (12lb), I found it to be probably the toughest line (besides braid) that I have ever used, however, it had memory issues, and I lost some casting distance. It is pretty sensitive, and it is very reasonably priced. I switched up to the CX Premium, and liked that a lot more. I actually still have a reel spooled with the Premium for night fishing, because it glows under black light, and is pretty strong stuff, but I won't go back to CXX.
  14. Yup, my bathroom just got a new addition.
  15. I'm going to be working on my drop-shotting. I just grabbed a new Crucial drop shot rod, and will pair it with a CI4, and drop shot my butt off 'till I'm blue in the face if I have to. I have only caught fish on this rig a couple times, and I know it can be a deadly technique, so that will be my biggest area of improvement for the upcoming year.

  18. I'll go under a bit, but never over. By the way, I have the same action Compre as you speak of, and it handles 1/4 oz baits just fine.
  19. I'm going to have to say... The STX is the way to go. It has the dual brakes, is built to last, casts ridiculously far and smooth, is available in left and right retrieve, and comes in a couple different speeds. I don't think there's a better choice for a new-to-baitcasting angler in that price range.
  20. Yet another good point! I didn't know Mass had such a big record! That's crazy!
  21. Should be fine. I always throw them back in the Planos if I change baits, and never had an issue yet.
  22. That's a real nice one! I have a spot that looks just like that with the tree and everything. Almost always good for one or two! Nice catch.
  23. How do you "break a record", and not know the exact weight of the fish?
