  1. Understood. Im running side imaging off my Terrova with the cable run down the channel. I don't have lift assist and dont know if that impedes routing the transducer cable. He mentioned down imagining in his original post which is why i suggested the new motor.
  2. Have you used the boat yet? Maybe your dealer will buy the motor back from you. You can then get the Terrova with the built in DI transducer
  3. Makes the expense of the electronics worth it.
  4. If someone is catching herpes where they fish, it's time to stick their rod elsewhere
  5. Birds, turtles, bats, mudpuppies, push broom
  6. Safety chains and cables are supposed to be criss crossed and act as a cradle if the ball and hitch were to separate.

  8. We were to meet under the darkness of night an hour from the ramp. My father and I were to don burlap sacks over our heads while A-Jay drove us to the ramp. We were to fish until dark and repeat the process in reverse. Unfortunately, this series of events never transpired and I went to Sturgeon Bay instead.
  9. McCarthy got canned. Should have happened years ago.
  10. Time without constraints is what I was trying to convey. When I have a week of vacation and spend half of that time driving to go fish, it takes some of the enjoyment out of it, add the weather fluctuations in early spring and a fishing vacation becomes a crap shoot. When I contacted you last fall about my dad and I doing a smallmouth tour of Michigan, I was planning a 2 week stint fishing Erie, St Clair, Traverse Bay, and Menderchuck. I switched jobs and plans changed. 2 weeks is a lot of time to include a fudge factor for weather and other bumps in the road. Currently, only being able to take a week at a time, I want to make the most of it. Keep driving to no more than a day and the ability to change plans on a moments notice due to mother nature.
  11. Used to do an annual trip in late March early April. I have fished a number of the "big name" bass lakes. Unfortunately, time constraints and mother nature can make or break that trip of a lifetime. Fishing and traveling are a lot of work. When I'm on vacation, I want to be on vacation. Maybe once I'm retired and time no longer means anything I would be up for it.
  12. Klein tools has done the same. Their lifetime warranty on hand tools is now at the discretion of the manufacturer rather than over the counter. Other items they sell have reduced warranty from lifetime to 5 years. OP. So you are boycotting Cabelas because they no longer have a lifetime warranty. Where are you going to shop? No other retailers that I know of offer a lifetime warranty on their in house brand, or any brands for that matter.

  15. Better get that puppy before he eats the wiring...Rambo...
  16. What diameter rope? I've attempted to use a rope to launch solo, to reduce the in and out of the truck time, and it got hung up and snapped. I hesitate to purchase the bungee thing that is currently on the market for fear of losing the boat. As far as the winch, I may get one soon. I've already replaced the strap and some hardware on the stock winch that came from Shoreland'r
  17. All I got was 3000 yards of line
  18. Sad but true. 3 LEOs have been shot in Chicago the last 2 days. One of them fatally. It's a thankless job.
  19. Well, congrats are in order!
