They don't make Snoopy and Barbie combos for no reason.

Need Advice on a first time purchase.
Will you be fishing Erie? A mod V is probably not your best choice.

Need Advice on a first time purchase.
That makes more sense. $6k should be more than enough to buy a 2002 17ft tin bass boat. Are you looking for brands to search? Plenty of other brands out there.

$11k is insane for a 2002 17ft Tracker. Are you sure it's not a 2012?

Maybe a stupid question

In search of 19-20 ft Aluminum tournament ready boat
A heavier boat with less freeboard will get blown around less than a lighter boat with more freeboard. As far as the mod v's, some sit more level and others sit with the bow high. A higher bow will grab the wind easier than a bow that is level. Most deep v's will have a high freeboard and, in most cases, will weigh more than the mod v hulls. As far as one being a better buy than the other, that will depend on where and how you are fishing. A mod v won't fare well on the Great Lakes and a deep v won't fare well in 18" of marsh

Tracker 2018 Heritage/2019 Classic edition boat
Nice. These are always desirable options when I shell out a bunch of coin buying a new boat. And you didn't even need to pay extra....

Trying to level trailer on decline
Chock the wheels front and back. Get a piece of plywood or 2x6 as mentioned above and attach a wheel dock with screws. Or you can use a 3" hole saw on the plywood to make a wheel dock. Then stack 2x6's or cinder block or 16x16 patio pavers one by one under the jack until you achieve your desired height. Put the wheel dock on the top of the stack and disconnect the trailer from the truck and jack it up

Prespawn
Ice out to spawn is prespawn, and if you want to get technical, the females start developing eggs in late fall.

Tracker 2018 Heritage/2019 Classic edition boat
Doubt it. You would need a 5 if the trailer had brakes

Tracker 2018 Heritage/2019 Classic edition boat
Mercury runs a warranty promotion every spring thru boat show season or, I believe the last day of March. Ask for the 2 additional years. Also, unless things have changed, the additional warranty is NOT the Platinum warranty, only the Gold warranty. It does not include labor and does not include any electrical components. Mercury does sell extended warranty's up to 7 years, so you could purchase an additional 2 years after the initial 5 if you wanted to. (You can also upgrade to to the Platinum rather than just buying the Gold) You can buy the extended warranty for as long as the motor is under the original 3 year factory warranty. It will cost the same if you opt in now or in up to 364 days. After that the price increases on an annual basis until the end of year 3. If you payed for dealer prep, they are supposed to clean the boat prior to delivery, not leave it full of shavings

This lake will not beat me (again)!!!!!
If you're trying to get him excited about fishing, maybe this isn't the place to go. Maybe the way to approach this is to not waste your time here and just go somewhere else...AND...get out of your comfort zone. We get hung up on fishing the same baits in the same spots and expect different results. Maybe it's not the lake and it's just YOU. Case in point. I never fished a jerkbait consistently on my home water. It was never conducive. I always settled back into a jig. So, the last 2 years I've been expanding my horizons and fishing new lakes. New lakes have different structure, different cover, water clarity, vegetation, etc and require different approaches. Spent a lot of time trying to master the jerkbait on offshore structure. Gave me confidence to bring that technique back to my soupbowl mudhole lake I call home. I tell you what, for #'s of fish, the jerkbait was my #1 producer last year. Jig still had it for size. Had I not got out of my comfort zone and never brought the jerkbait home, I know for a fact I would have been less successful.

Where are all the Illinois Guys ?
Became a grandpa last August. My step daughter had a healthy little boy named Eric Jr. My son got promoted to senior accountant at work, and is going to school to get his CPA license on the bosses dime. I started a new job this week, similar to the last but more money, more potential for growth, and more my niche. Otherwise just rolling along.

Can Bass Hear Rattles in Your Baits?
Maybe cadence has more to do with it than sound. Observe any creature. Change triggers reaction.
