  2. Now where have I read before? Geez,no sense of humor, You cub fans are wound to tight LOL ;D I don't even like baseball. Just messin' with ya. I give all the credit to big saw.
  3. I would guess that, similar to bass, they are either prespawn feeding or depending on conditions protecting beds.
  4. Ahhhh. It seems it's always a sox fan that has something to say about the Cubs. Sox fans would do better to not criticize the Cubs and go to one of the many bars on the south side and have a beer. Oh , wait a minute. There are no bars. Just a couple lousy hot dog stands where drunkin' southside hillbillies stand around and talk about being unemployed ! Buy hey at least the sox ball park has great bleacher seats ??? If you like nosebleeds and using the hubble telescope to see the field. And let's not forget the superb parking facilities. Six miles from the park and you get to have your windows smashed out by one the innumerable junkies in the area looking to rob you so they can get their next fix. And lastly, if I owned a franchise, I'm sure that the Cubbies make a zillion more dollars every year than the Sox. But I guess if you're one of the 27 Sox fans it's ok. Go Cubs.
  5. I can't get a link but if you go to myoutdoortv.com, find Frank Hyla's (Time on the Water) site under "fishing" to watch past shows. You can scroll down the list of shows and Sangchris is one of them. It's a half hour show but he may be able to give you some pointers.
  6. Fishing Rhino is his username
  7. Why, you planning on copying that one too! Did you ever have the mattress police at your house? ;D No hooks on the blue one DUH!!! ;D
  8. Thanks Paul. Every bit of info helps. This will be my 3rd trip down in the last 4 years. Being able to eliminate non productive water will help greatly.
  9. Are they in the creeks? Secondary points? Primary points? I'm heading down Wednesday thru Sunday this week. Any help is greatly appreciated. Also any crappie action?
  10. Rhino's the guy you need to talk to.
  11. Brainerd native killed Saturday in Puerto Rico Posted: March 23, 2011 - 7:57pm Advertisement Brainerd native Aaron James Dahlberg was among 19 people who were violently killed this past weekend in Puerto Rico, according to a story Tuesday in El Nacional, a newspaper in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Dahlberg, 33, a 1996 Brainerd High School graduate, was living in a house in the urbanized University Gardens in Rio Piedras when he was shot in the upper back and his armpit Saturday while he was on his balcony, according to police. Police said the gunman approached Dahlberg and shot him with a .45 caliber pistol then fled. According to Dahlberg's Facebook page, he currently was working at Purple Desert Services in Phoenix, Ariz., and on Friday he wrote that he was looking into purchasing a condo in Puerto Rico.
  12. Could you use a stainless or aluminum carabiner and some type of nylon strap. Google nylon strap. I'll bet you find what you need.
  13. Buy a basic jon boat. Figure out what length you will need by the water you will be fishing and if you will be alone or with a partner. Then you can get a TM and battery. Then electronics. If you are mechanicaly inclined you can fabricate your own tackle storage, livewell, rod holders, etc. Then a gas motor. If you think about it, with a little patience you will eventualy have the boat you want. For example if you had $1000 to spend now. Maybe you could get a 12ft jon with a 40 year old 5hp motor, old TM and old electronics. If you took that grand and bought a 14ft you could equip it with a new TM and battery. Add the other stuff as you can afford it. And you'll end up with a much nicer rig. Good luck
  14. Not long at all. I take time putting the boat away after an outing. I fuel it up, fill up the oil, clean out the garbage, unload the tackle(boat stays in a storage yard), and charge the batteries. When it's time to go out all I have to do is take off the cover, put in my gear, plug in the electronics, and check the trailer lights.
  15. slonezp replied to Bass Dude's topic in Tacklemaking
I'm not a tacklemaker but in reality there is no such thing as a secret bait. There is a time and a place for all of them. IMO It's all about the Benjamins.
  16. You can buy 20 Ugly Sticks and still have some left over for beer and pizza...just sayin'
  17. I was fishing with my son who was maybe 10 at the time. We were at my "secret" spot on the chicago river at about 6am. There was a guy who I'm guessing was homeless, possibly an ex con who showed up at my spot. He was covered in prison tats. He began reinacting a police shootout. It seemed very realistic, almost like it really happened to him. Well I started getting a little nervous, but was extremely relieved when he ran out of imaginary bullets and then ran away from the imaginary cops.
  18. The head judge would have to be Zona. First prize would be competing against the pros. Last place has to spend a week with Fish Fishburne
  19. Congrats. Hope that all goes well.
  20. If you have a BPS or Cabelas near you they sell new props. The merc prop should have a # stamped on it that you should be able to match up.
  21. If it's aluminum depending on how bad it is, it shouldn't run you more than 50% of a new prop. May take a few weeks though, this time of year. I dropped one off and they told me 2-3 weeks. If you can afford it a good idea is to have a spare. It will minimize your down time. That way you can still fish while the other is being repaired. FYI, Just because you think it runs fine doesn't mean it isn't causing problems. If it's vibrating, or out of round you could be putting excessive stress on the gear case which could lead to other problems.
  22. You might be able to remedy that with some fiberglass resin and fiberglass sheets available at any auto supply store.
  23. Wow. You just want everything If TW don't got it, you don't need it. ;D
  24. Only if Ryan Seacrest is the host. ;D
