  1. @Catch-A-Dream Marty, Happy I found your charity and happy we could help. Bassresource has some very special people as members.

  3. Not my fault you can't afford me.
  4. What about perch and smelt? You're a little older, I was born in 70. I spent a lot of time perch fishing at the lakefront, did some smelt fishing, and threw some trot lines for trout. Didn't start fishing the lakefront for bass until early/mid 90's. Pretty sure I ate a few 6lb smallies. Might even have a Polaroid of one taken in my kitchen before I had it for dinner.
  5. Fishing since '73 or '74 and targeting bass starting in the early 90's.
  6. I thought, based on the pic, you were going to say "jerkbaits are your friend"
  7. I prefer to have a little backbone in my rods rather than them buckling over 180* on a hookset.
  8. AND THE WINNER IS @roadwarrior and just so you don't believe there was any funny business, 2 pics attached. Top right corner of the screenshot in the control shows a blank for results. Top right corner of the final shows 1 for results which means I only spun the wheel once. Congrats Kent. To figguree out the logistics to getting the jig pack, please contact @Siebert Outdoors Again, I want to thank everyone here for helping out a great cause.
  9. Reminds me of a story. 25 years ago or so, my son was with my mother and father at their summer home in Door County. They punished him for something or other. He took 2 sheets of paper and a red marker and made a list of "Rules for Door County". My mother framed the list and the rules remain on the wall to this day.
  10. The raffle has officially ended. Eric B and TJ, you have until midnight tonight to get me your usernames if you want to be included in the raffle. I'll be announcing the winner of the jig package at some point in time between tomorrow and Thursday. Thanks again everyone for the donations. I emailed Catch-A-Dream last night with the good news. I imagine we should be hearing from them in the near future.
  11. All I care is that the squares I bought, win.
  12. Freeze the filets in water. It takes up more room in the freezer but, more importantly, it doesn't affect the quality of the filet.
  13. A lot of the taste has to do with the body of water. Fish that live in muddy areas do not taste as good as fish that live in sandy or rocky areas. This goes for all species.
  14. Hopefully your insurer will sue the yard for the loss...and then some
  15. Posted a link last week. Went and bought a bottle.
  16. Thanks to an extremely generous BR member, who shall remain nameless unless he gives me permission, we have exceeded our goal. Still waiting on Eric B and TG to get me their usernames for the raffle.
  17. I ran HB's for almost 20 years. I have a Garmin in my current boat. 6 of one, 1/2 dozen of the other.
  18. Not new, but a revisited tradition. In the 80's, my dad and grandfather and I traveled to Canada annually for a fishing trip. Dad and my kid and I did a spring break trip annually when my kid was in high school and college. It stopped some time ago. Kid and I fished tournaments and we stopped our recreational spring trips. I fished those recreational trips with dad and we just texted our successes to my kid. The three of us did a Lake Erie walleye trip last year and have decided to do it again this year.
  19. Eric B and TG, the raffle ends tomorrow at midnight. you have until midnight on Tuesday Feb 1st to get me your screen name to be included in the raffle. The raffle winner will be announced on Wednesday the 2nd after I get home from work unless Eric B and TG get back to me tomorrow. If so, it will be announced on Tuesday the 1st.
