I have a son who is successful and makes more money than I do and a step daughter with a grandson that can't rub two nickels together to make a dime. The difference between the 2 of them is my son takes responsibility for his shortcomings and learns from them. My step daughter blames others for her shortcomings and hasn't learned a thing.

I dropped out of school at 16, left on my own at 17, and the school of hard knocks offers a great education. I'd at least give him the option of job, military, or school and part time job if he wants to continue having a roof over his head. With a job, he pays you rent and pays his own way for everything else. School and a job, you cover his room and board and he pays his own way for everything else. And Uncle Sam will take care of his necessities in the military.

And here he is playing hockey. He also did ice bowling and basketball toss, football toss, and toilet seat horseshoes. We taught him that some animals are food and others are not. He's good with eating pig, cow, fish, bird, deer. Cats and dogs are for pets. We taught him meat will make him big and strong.

So we're at Fish Creek winterfest. They have a game called wheel of meat. 3 bucks buys a chance to win your choice of 2 meats. The grandson runs up to the table and wants "pig". He got crazy happy when they picked his number. Got some bacon and brats. We're having waffles and pig for breakfast tomorrow.

Neil Young was relevant 40 years ago. Not so much today. I saw him live in the 80's. Took my then girlfriend, now ex-wife to the show. She was a fan and I found his music tolerable. It was at an outdoor venue and I bought lawn seats rather than pavilion seats. It was raining so she and I took some open seats in the last row of the pavilion. A guy walks up to us and hands us a pair of promotional tickets that were front row center and said "Have a nice evening" Neil young has always been political. My beef with a lot of musicians and their live shows is, I paid to see them perform music, not listen to political rants. If I want to listen to politics I'll turn on talk radio.
