An elderly woman was beaten to death with a hammer 2 blocks from my dads house on Tuesday. Happened right across from our favorite pizza joint. We were there eating pizza Tuesday evening and 2 of the plain clothed officers who were on scene earlier in the day also frequent the pizza joint were discussing it. I overhead the conversation and it's just really sad. Crazy thing is, this neighborhood is probably one of the safest neighborhoods in Chicago. I have whiskey stones and I have the round cube ice tray. Round is supposed to melt slower. Regular ice is convenient.

Braidwood is one of the last powerplant lakes that still operates in northern IL. It's old flooded strip mines. Was a "dead" lake for bass for quite sometime. They added a bunch of fish cribs and did some stocking and it has come back. On a side note, ponds are clear of ice in the Schaumburg area.

Anything is possible. Might not be the best way to do things but, it will work depending on how you set it up.

That was just weird.

You need to come to Chicago. When the wind is blowing off the lake and gets funneled thru the skyscrapers, it can get quite blustery. Especially during the winter. There used to be a row of trees behind the house. The removed them because of Dutch Elm Disease. They planted new trees 6 or 7 years ago and it's going to take another 6 or 7 years to get shade and some wind protection from them.

I have to imagine with a full hopper and the propane tank for the sear box, that set up weighs over 200lbs. I've had some 70mph winds out of the south/southwest in the past that never flipped the grills. There are 6 townhomes as part of my unit and everyone's grills were flipped. The pellet grill seems like it still works. I got everything dried up. and fired it up. The hopper cover is bent but I can live with that. There's grease on the inside the cover, I can clean that up once it gets warmer.

Mother nature doesn't like bbq. Don't know if we had a micro burst or just wind last night. Was woken up in the middle of the night by a "freight train" sound that lasted less than a minute.

It ended up hitting 70 yesterday. High winds all day and possibly a micro burst last night. Took out my pellet grill, flat top, and a 25' branch off a 50' tree in the common area behind my townhouse. The pic of the grill devastation is too large to post. Snow tomorrow and highs in the 40's lows in the 20's the rest of the week.
