tierra or Soron stx
When I was buying a new spinning reel this winter, I narrowed my search down to these two reels. From the information I gathered, both are very good reels. I think the soron might be built a little more sturdy and the tierra is a bit smoother. I ended up with the Tierra and like it a lot.

Best Daiwa Baitcaster for < $150?
I just bought the Black Widow II about a month ago. For the price, it is a great reel. Not only does it look cool, it is very smooth and feels great in my hand.

World record bass a phony.....
Another point on the picture: Perry went fishing that day because it was raining too hard to work the fields. By the shadows in the picture, it definitely was sunny when the picture was taken. Does that disprove the record, no. I think someone will grow the next world record. Either genetically (Texas) or on a private pond.

Favorite Angler?
Ike for sure.... followed closely by KVD. Total opposites, Ike acts crazy and KVD always seems cool and collected.

lets talk spoons
I use spoons occasionally when nothing else seems to be working. I have had most success with daredevil spoons in the classic red/white pattern or the five of diamonds, which is yellow with 5 red diamonds. The also work well on pickerel when the bass are not biting.

2 Days till the big trip
Sounds awesome... I started flyfishing in NC last year and was amazed by the number of streams the state has to offer. Good luck hope you catch some nice ones.

Daiwa Tierra and Advantage spinning?
I bought a Tierra this past winter and have not used it yet. But from spooling up some line it felt very smooth. I can not wait to use it soon.

Line for crankbaits and jerkbaits
I just spooled my rod for jerkbaits with 12# yo zuri hybrid. It is my first experience with it, but after hearing all the good things about it on this site I decided to give it a shot. Too bad I haven't had a chance to use it yet.

your number one bass catching bait!?!?! (lure you caught the most bass on all time)
Senko for me too, other soft plastics would be a close second but the senko usually gets the nod.

Sworming Hornet And Buckeye Su-Spin Blade?
I asked about these a while ago and it seemed that people like these baits. I bought a few but haven't used them yet. There is another thread that has a lot of good sugestions for trailers. One that I definatly want to try is using the back 3 or 4 inches of a swim senko. Good luck!

Lake Huites Mexico
I am thinking about spending my spring break next year fishing in Mexico. I did some preliminary research and found a lodge on Lake Huites that looks nice. I have never fished below the border and was hoping someone who has could help me out. Is Huites a good lake for a first timer in mexico, or are there better options? Also, my break usually falls mid-march, how is the fishing around that time. Thanks for any input.

Been fishing with the ST Croix Mojo
Thanks for the review. I have the same jerkbait rod but have not had a chance to get out fishing with it yet. I cannot wait though, it looks like it will be a great rod. I also have the wacky style spinning model which I also am anxious to try out. Like you said, they seem like great rods for the $90 price tag.

first bed fish of '09
Awesome fish! Wish the ice would go away soon

2 piece rod sensitivity vs. 1 piece rod sensitivity
I just got my first few one peice rods and think there are some definite benefits. I don't know if the difference in sensitivity exists or is noticible to a person. I do think it is more convienent to have one peice rods if storage and transortation isnt an issue. First, you dont need to worry about the rod getting stuck together or falling appart, and the guides are always perfectly lined up. I think all my rods from now on will be one peice.

A Shoutout for NH Fishermen!!!
I am home in NH this week for spring break but I don't think there is any fishable water near me. I am heading back to NC to finish school and will be back in the 603 in May. I can't wait to fish this summer and will be checking back here often to see how the fishing is going here this spring. Keep me updated. Good luck everyone.

Northern maine in July... any advise
I just booked a 3 night trip to Long Lake camps in Princeton, ME. I have been there once before and the fishing was awesome. I was a lot younger but remember using mainly tubes and senkos most of the trip. In early-mid july, what are the best areas to target fish and baits to use for smallies in northern maine? Thanks in advance for any pointers that will make this trip epic.

Cutting Braid
What do you use to cut braid? I used to just use a sharp knife but that was not very effective. I have heard of special braid scisors working well. I also have been looking at a pair of pliers that has a cutter that claims to cut any type of line? If anyone has experience with anything like that I would love some input. Thanks.

Jerkbait rod reel
I am planning on getting a Mojo for jerkabits and topwater. What casting reel under $100 would be a good match for this rod? Is braid the best bet for topwater baits in heavy cover? Thanks for any input.

Worm Fishing Preference
