Texas Rig snags
not really that much you can do.. when the bottom is trashy like that i either slow down the retreive and "feel" your way over obsticles OR my favorite, go weightless. is it your hook getting caught or the weight itself?

Fishing with leaders
the only leaders i use in fresh water is for C rigs and (this may not be technically a leader) but when i fish light line (6lb-8lb) on my spin rod and want to use an unweighted plastic i use a swivel about 12-16 inches above the hook to help with line twist. plus this helps the unweighted lure to swim correctly without twisting itself around and around... i slay fish on an unweighted worm around grass and structure. i mean kill'em.. (assuming thats what they want for the day).. i always keep an unweighted rig on the boat or pond fishing.

Cheap Ultralight
funny you should ask. i wanted the same thing bc i broke my other pond rod. i dont spend much on pond rods but i dont go ultra cheap either. i went to wal-mart (something i dont do often) and found a reel from abu garcia called the cardinal (spinning rod) for 35bucks (the smallest reel garcia had there) with 5 ball bearings. i then saw a matching rod for 35 bucks still a garcia cardinal in medium light action... i cant tell you for 70bucks how pleased i am with the rod and the reel. she tosses weightless worms with ultimate ease. i use 6lb yozuri hybrid on it. it is a medium light action so setting a hook in a pretty large bass will take an extra oomph in your swing set but for those picky fish it works great. i use it for all small baits and weightless plastics. if you just want to bass fish with it then get a medium in 6'6" not a medium light. mine is an all purpose rod.

Bank fishing....
FTW! i bank fished all my life up until 6yrs ago. i use the exact same lures as i would on a boat. you need to know your local forage and go out and take notes. taking notes may sound rediculous but when you see patterns your catch rate will increase.

What fluoro is closest to XPS fluoro?
I believe SeaGuar makes Cabela's FC line as toray does for BPS. you are correct. i got the two mixed up.

need crankbait help
- Power Pro line.... I'm sold
like most braids, it can fray easily. sure its strong but once its frayed good luck. i think for the $$ power pro is good stuff. i have never had one break but whe it comes to fishing things that can scrape and fray line, use FC.- Megastrike Review - WORKS VERY WELL!!!
Megastrike isn't a spray. It's kind of like Vaseline. It does 2 things. First it's a scent that works. Second it coats the plastic so it slides through weeds more easily. I don't necessarily believe in scents attracting bass from a distance. However, I think scents mask harmful odors and help to have a bass hang on for another second or two. That extra time helps greatly in setting the hook. good info but that didnt answer my question :-)- Pitching / Fipping baitcast
do you guys lower your brakes and your tensioner when flipping and pitching? just curious.- Megastrike Review - WORKS VERY WELL!!!
do you guys pre soak your baits with it and let it sit in the bag or do you spray and toss? i dont use scents. well rarely do i use them- What baits do you throw on really windy days?
its hard to do in open water for sure. i have had good success in high wind on points that are blocked by the wind. meaning there is wind all around but a point thats not choppy, surrounded by choppy waters is slamming (there was a 50ft area where the wind could not stir the water. i caught a massive bass hiding in there waiting on prey. toss it in the bumpy waters and slow retrieve to the calm area. just something that has worked for me in the past.- Wiley X polarized sunglasses
no those are about the best and cheapest polarized that i would trust. i personnaly use oakley shallow blue, vr28, or deep blue polarized lenses and they work fantastic. but you pay for them too. costa's overall i think would be the best fishing polarized glasses available. if you take care of the Wiley X's they will last you a long long time. sure there are cheaper polarized glasses but the cheaper the lenses the more damage your eyes will receive. ask any eye dr- What fluoro is closest to XPS fluoro?
isnt XPS made my Seagar? ( dunno if i spelled that right i have a meeting and do not have time to look it up) i hate ordering from BassPro shops. HATE IT. cabellas or gander mtn FTW- Ugly Stick with braid?
we catfish with that. at times we are pulling in stumps. thats no joke those rods are very very tough.- Looking for some opinions on line choice for......
you going with a medium rod? just askin'.. the choices in line so far would be mine as well.- Choice for a spinning reel
you do have a point. this will be a test lol no doubt bc i am going to put that rod/reel through hell i am sure- Favorite spinnerbait or swim jig trailer?
just recently caught a 7.5lb bass and a 9.35lb bass in the same day on a stanley spinner bait in bream color. great lure. gold leaf btw. let her bounce and knick the bottom slowly retreive. tick tick boom!- Drop Shot Line?
6-8lb yozuri hybrid original.- Choice for a spinning reel
heck, i broke one of my cheap bass rods i use strictly for river and pond fishing the other day, went to walmart and bought a Abu Garcia cardinal and a matching rod (medium light - i use it for light tackle and weightless worms). 34$ for the reel and 34$ for the rod and i am very pleased with the Abu Garcia cardinal with 5 ball bearings (4lb - 8lb tst reel) and the rod. i love shimano but for the coin, this reel is very very smooth. its smoother than my double priced shimano reel. a lot smoother.- Fat Ika's
