  1. i agree on length vs where you fish. so i am now leaning more towards the 7ft since ill be in a boat fishing with it. this is gonna be my lake rod. i have shorter rods for my ponds and bank fishing.
  2. ill be fishing mostly lakes out of a bassboat with this rod tossing weightless worms and light tackle. at times i will use it pond fishing but i have rods for that too. thanks for the reply
  3. 1.Clarus Spinning Rod 6'6" Med MF Taper Lure Weight: 1/8-1/2 In Stock: Yes Price: $69.99 Qty CSS66MA, Line Weight: 6-12 lbs. Moderate/Fast Action. 2.Clarus Spinning Rod 6'6" Med EF Taper Lure Weight: 1/8-1/2 In Stock: Yes Price: $69.99 Qty CSSX66MA, Line Weight: 6-12 lbs. Extra Fast Action. i need some help and advice here ;D.. this rod will be used for mainly lake fishing and some pond fishing. i will be using this rod mainly for weightless worm, etc. small cranks, vertical fishing and the lb line i will be using is 8-10lbs.. i cannot order both but i am clueless on which one i should go with, part of me says go with the medium action extra fast taper. there is a 7ft rod i am eyeing as well 3. Clarus Spinning Rod 7' Med Ft Taper Lure Weight: 1/4-5/8 In Stock: Yes Price: $79.99 Qty CSS70MA, Line Weight: 6-15 lbs. Fast Action. One of the best ways of catching bass is split shotting. This rod has a very sensitive tip and can detect bites even in deep water. It also has plenty of power to set the hook and pull a fish out of cover. -- if i go the 7ft route it will be for lake fishing only and maybe some pond. but it maybe too long for my needs... thanks guys!
  4. i use the ole hybrid yo zuri in 6 - 8#.. love it! be sure to use some kvd too. i was very skeptical about the combo of the two and after 2 years. i dont feel like changing. it works
  5. i cant remember exactly which gander rods i have (i have 3) and love them all. pretty good rods for the $$.. but like antyhing else that comes from over seas. test them out in the store. bend them and etc. listen for cracking and etc. now that everything is made in china the QC of those items have gone down.
  6. i have had nothing but issues out of my expensive quantum bc's reels. i doubt ill ever buy another. its so hard to beat a good abu, daiwa and esp shimano as far as quality and quality control is concerned. just my opinion
  7. wow i was all hyped up reading this then i saw the price... after i caught my breath i decided. this is too rich for my poor blood.. i am on the market for 7' spin rod that i can use for weightless worms, small cranks, small jigs, and flukes.. i like a MH but with a moderate to moderate fast tip (for casting distance) any tips and or advice on something atleast half that price? 50-120 bucks is my range
  8. shimano hands down... goes for both BC's and spins
  9. good info here. i myself have not gone to 100% flouro just yet but i am tempted. atleast on my BC worm rod.
  10. i have been using the old hybrid and i have not an issue with it at all. i use them for BC's and spinning rod and rarely have issues with it. but also, i use kvd when i spool it up and soak it before i go out the next day as well. dunno if that makes a difference but i use a lot of the 6-10lb on spinning rods and no issues.. on weightless worm and etc i use the 6lb on a medium acton spinning rod and it does great. the line is tough and never had one break off. not one
  11. i have not tried the ultra soft yet. still kinda iffy about it. i know the old works and works well so i keep ordering the plain ole hybrid in 6 8 10 and 12.. the 12 is for the BC and the rest are for the spinning reels. love that line so far in the 2 years i have been using it.
  12. watermelon seed and in zoom split tailed worm'd flavor.. those things slay bass.
  13. Lake James is beautiful! they filmed the Last of the Mohicans there, well parts of it.. good fishing too, but the water is gin clear
  14. i must be alone in this crowd then.. he isnt bad but i dunno i just dont get into him like you guys i suppose. i do like the espn fishing though its a good show

  16. yeah i have seen that. i was more curious on why you guys (those of you that do) use it..
  17. how do you rig them weedless?
  18. catch anything?
  19. those jacks are killer for smallies in rivers and creeks. fish it weightless or with a small weight and allow the current to move the bait and sink. bang, i slay em
  20. so what all lures do you guys use with it? i have seen senkos, tricks and even crawfish plastics.. i am gonna give this a try tomorrow, its called a Jack's worm. love the tail on these things. its very sensative http://caseplastics.com/case/product_info.php?products_id=75&osCsid=bc9407f6b6b6ab7295670f08fb65cd39
  21. the only two sizes they has was 1/8 and 1/4. i assume the 1/8 would be for lighter winds and shallower water? and the 1/4 for the opposite or is the 1/4 just a good general weight? they did not have what i wanted which was 3/8
  22. What does this mean? If you mean the label on the supply spool is facing up, then that is not the way to do it. Labels are put on both ways. The spool should be on the floor such that the line comes off it counterclockwise. he matched the way his reel spins to the way the line came off the spool. he did it right imo..
  23. i have never head of it till i started gandering at this board. is it ideal for cranks? does anyone have a little more info on that knot? thanks guys
  24. hey guys what weight SR's do you guys like to use the most? Also what do you like to put on it? i am using a 6'6 mh with 12lb silverthread (10lb diameter) with it as well.. headed to a lake tomorrow with lots of stumps in 7ft of water or less..
  25. i bought some of Reel Mech's stuff but i have not used it yet. i assume its top notch!
