i use 40lb suffix braid on a saros 3000... works great, better than mono i believe bc it resists line twist much better... i agree with snookalot on putting it on, you can use mono backer, but i personally use gorilla tape on the bare spool then line up as normal.... i do line it up extremely tight on the spool though to prevent the line from digging into itself..... as for the leader.....if it is necessary , i have had great success with the alberto knot for going from braid to mono or flouro.

I call that Heddening a lure......as in aww man i had to hedden that lure..... Named after my pal whose last name is Hedden....that kid changes his lure after every 5 casts....its ridiculous!!

good to hear man........i wish i had that experience my last outing, man that would have been great...... went to the coast today and only hooked up 3 of the smallest trout i have ever seen........... and my pal hooked up with an unfortunate manatee :'(

??don't know about just prespawn usage.....i throw them most everytime i go out.....love'em...they always produce..... even the cheap-o, beetle spins work wonders for me... ive caught a 5.4lber on a white beetle spin with the red dot...!!

im baffled by this as well.... only seen them with eggs during the spawn....or slightly before or after normal times....as with any other animal, everyone's not the same! so in response,......???

can't vouch for any of their reels, but i have a BPS microlite rod (md.lite act.) that is untouchable in my eyes. I absolutely love it, and have for a while........but their rod making abilities, and their intricate gear and reel making abilities may have some major diff's???????????

ive got a small hand sharpener.........works wonders!!! hooks get laser sharp... thats all i need... thats for on the water, if hooks are that old or dull,,, you really need to just swap'em out!!!
