Copolymer lines
Silver Thread AN40. I've been using this for years. Really good spinning reel line too. Never had a line twist.

Does anyone have experience with these? Is Balsa durable?

Buoyant Plastics
Hags Tornado floats and has great colors. I use them on drop shots and shaky heads.

Florocorbon line and spinning reel issues
I have had no luck with Fluoro on spinning reels too. I use braid with a Fluoro leader or copolymer Silver Thread AN40 6 or 8# and have never had a line twist. Also, don't overspool the reel with line.

Need advice on a shakey head rod
I use a Dobyns Champion 683 casting rod. It might not be in your price range but you might look at a Dobyns Savvy 693 which is in your range. If you can save for the Champion I would do that.

Shaky head and drop shot
Bottom fishing...shaky head suspending fish or when there is slime on the bottom...drop shot I use Hags Tornado on both since they float

BPS Classic - dissapointing turnout
No inventory and looks like they are just trying to clear out house brands. Even at BPS sale prices, TW regular prices are cheaper in most cases plus no tax.

Bps rod/reel trade in deal
I was going to trade in a rod for an Avid X. Called first and found out they have one left with none coming in soon. And it was a 7'med mod which does me no good. They had 2 Mojos. This is the worst sale they have had since there is no inventory. I think they want to get you in to buy some overpriced shirts and hunting boots.

Jigs from TW - Any good ones?
They carry a lot of good jigs. War Eagle jigs are good and not too expensive. Go on and look at some of the reviews for different jigs.

Best Drop Shot baits on the Market?
4" Hags Tornado for drop shot (great colors) and 5" if you decide to shaky head. They float really well.

Basspro Spring Classic
So, think this out. BPS tungsten weights are 4.97 in the sale plus tax. Wait until TW 15% sale and Picasso Tungstens are 4.24 with no tax. Bitsy Bug jig BPS 1.69 on sale and at TW 1.44 at 85%. At TW the regular price is 1.69. Seems only way to get a Carbonlite rod on sale is in a combo deal. No Pro Qualifier on sale in my ad. When is a sale not a sale Memorial Day is not far away. i do not work for TW. I'm just frugal. I never saw "tagged" rods and reels for the trade in. Usually they just mention what is excluded like Shimano. I have a rod to trade in for a St Croix but I'll call first to see if they are included before driving there.

BPS SPRING CLASSIC - Seen the ad yet?
Look for the ROD TRADE-IN label on qualifying rods Trade in your old rod and save even more on a new one! Key word here is "qualifying". Wonder if the trade in will be Bass Pro rods only? Hope not. In past years it was on all rods.

When is Bass Pro Shops best fishing sale?
The rod and reel trade in offer isn't bad. Wondering if they'll have name brand exclusions this year to drive buyers to their house brands? Otherwise their sale prices are usually above TWs everyday prices. And most of their lure sales items are their house brands.

Copolymer Fishing Line?
I use AN40 on spinning reels. Low stretch, very supple, never had a line twist, casts a mile. I'd try it at that price. Here's some info SPECIFICATIONS Silver Thread AN40 was developed with the stealth approach in mind. Designed with an incredibly small diameter, this line can really cover the distance. The AN40 formula is very limp and supple, making it a favorite among fishermen. If you require long casts and low underwater visibility to get close to the fish, look no further than AN40. Available in original silver and low-visibility green. Avid comparable to Cara T7?
I have a falcon low rider 6'10" MH fast and an St Croix Premier 7' MH Fast. I like them both but the Premier is definitely stiffer than the Falcon.
