Battery Charging And Decharging Question
1) Your battery will be fine it is not very likely to crap out that easily. Your treatment wasn't perfect but it wasn't that bad. Heck if it was that big of a deal it would be mandatory to charge the battery b4 you left the lake! 2) you are using an inflatable, not much weight so I wouldn't worry too much 3) I run a 14' extra wide john boat with flooring ( thin & light ) decking ( small amount ) using a 55# thrust ( digital but have also used a 55# non digital ) and my battery has been fine for several years. I use it on a lake that is at least a couple of miles long and the only mode of transportation is your trolling motor as gas motors are not allowed. They cannot even be on your boat! 4) I also have a 25# thrust as sort of a backup that I sometimes run at the same time as I run my 55# 5) once in a while I forget to put my battery on the charger right away. Sometimes it is the next day or 3 or ??? I'm no battery expert just my .02 FFI

Help Needed Dvd To Cd
Thanks guys, Well at least I don't feel quite so silly. Although doable it apparetnly wasn't a no-brainer simple deal that I was missing. I did think of one other possibility, I can also put the DVD in the recorder and play it to the tv. I can probably take the audio out to my pc if I have audio recording software already on my pc. I'll also look in a couple of the free software packages mentioned. Thanks again, FFI

Help Needed Dvd To Cd
Good point Norcal I hadn't thought to check the obvious so I did just now. For 3 songs it made 6 files 2 ea of an IFO, BUP & VOB When I click on one of the VOB files a program runs on my computer ( Cyberlink Power DVD ) and one song automatically plays. When I click on one IFO file it launches the same program but comes up with a menu type of deal that has all 3 song choices. Note: This is just like it comes up on my DVD recorder minus the Cyberlink DVD program. Another VOB file launches the program but just shows sort of an advertisement for the program. The other IFO file launches the program and the menu with the 3 songs comes up ( again just like it comes up on my DVR ). Note: My DVD recorder is a fairly unit. I imagine that my explanations are clear as mud, my apologies in advance on that. FFI

Help....the Stress Is Killing Me
Yep what he said. Also..... If you got a 30 on your ACT you are smart enough to not to worry about what other people think. Go to JC and save your money. If you go the JC route make sure that you have a pretty good idea of what college you want to finish at. Not all classes will transfer from one place to another etc. Not all colleges ( of any type ) do a 100% job on how all of this works. Don't just rely on what the JC says, do you own homework ( pardon the pun ) and talk to the 4yr college yourslf to double check the JC. Good Luck, FFI

Help Needed Dvd To Cd
I'm having a brain lapse. I recorded a short song from cable onto a DVD via my DVD recorder. What would be an easy way to turn that into an audio format that I could put on a CD to play in my car? I'd prefer to make the change via my PC if possible. Thanks in advance, FFI

Shimano Compre
fish-fighting-illini replied to fish-fighting-illini's topic in Fishing Rods, Reels, Line, and KnotsThanks for the feedback guys. Dwight that was pretty funny. Hooking - good idea I might give it a shot tonight Bassin - We'll have to wait for the Big Ten games to start to see if they are for real or not. Better than the 0-3's that we've been used to for a while. Norcal - good try but that isn't happening. If they weren't rods I'd be happy to pick some up for people but shipping is a pain. Thanks again FFI

Shimano Compre
fish-fighting-illini replied to fish-fighting-illini's topic in Fishing Rods, Reels, Line, and KnotsI bought a MH but just holding it the rod almost seems like it is closer to M. It could be just the fact that it is such a lite rod. I haven't had a chance to actually use it yet. Do you that own them or have tried them have any thoughts on them?

Shimano Compre
I just bought a brand new Shimano Compre for $49 at my local tackle store. Seemed like a good price considering they normally go for $99 I figure they are coming out with a new mo0del but fine by me I'll take the deal.

Take Me To Your Leader!
My fishing buddy ( Farmpond1 ) just learned this same exact lesson about a week ago & just like you twice in fact. I imeediately tied leaders on all my reels. I haven't noticed the difference yet but I'm not going back. Nicely done way to use the old head. I'm not sure that I would have thought of it. I would just have chalked it up to luck or him being a better fisherman. FFI - AKA Matt C

Reel Problems
Shimano is good stuff but it is not the all to end all on being problem free. I bought a a Curado ( D I think ) and it had problems very early on ( within 3 months which were mostly winter). I sent it to Shimano for reapair with a very detailed description. The returned it w/o directly talking to me saying that nothing was wrong with it. They did call but their english was poor and they only left a voice mail. The voice mail was hard to understand making it very hard to contact that person. By the time I got through the run-around they had already shipped the reel. I had my fishing buddy ( Farmpond1 ) listen to it and he was stunned when he heard it. I have owned the previous generation Symetre and that was a great reel (wish I never sold it). I own multiple Pflueger spinning reels that I've had for 3-5 years and I love them. I've never had a problem with any of them. I have one Pflueger baitcaster ( Supreme ) & it worked beautiful for a couple of years. It is starting to make some noise though. This probably needs some minor maintenance due to the lack of a p/m ( probably my mistake on that ). FFI - AKA Matt C

My Personal Best Largemouth So Far!
I'll be taking our twin 12yr old daughters out later this week. Maybe I can add another 1 or 2 females to the bass hunting group. The older 3 daughters ( 29,25 & 24 ) are probably a lost cause although one has asked to go fishing in the boat specifically for bass.

New Pb & Great Outing
Thanks everyone. Brushoggin - yes it does feel good. I'm on vacation this week so I am going to go back. I'm taking our twin 12yr old daughters. I kind of burned them out a little early on so they have been kind of weary. I think getting them some fish might greatly help their interest. This is the one lake that they have shown interest in so hopefully it will make them fisherman again. If it can be done it can be done at this lake. Wish us luck, I'll try to remember to let you know how it goes.

New Pb & Great Outing
This might not be huge to some but I got my new pb 20" guessing 5lbs. I've been stuck on 4#'s for maybe 4years. This is just one of well over 80 fish my buddy & I caught that day. They were all lgmb's and 99% were 2lbs & over. This lake has plenty of 6 &7's .... I'lll get there! FFI - AKA Matt

Who Would You Be If You Could Live The Life Of A Rock Star For A Year?
I'd have to say Jon Bon Jovi himself. He has what he needs and doesn't seem to be all screwed up with the drugs and stupid antics. He could probably have whomever he wants but he is quite happy with his wife Dorthea for many many years. I'm no huge music fan but the guy seems like a class act. I don't know that for sure but just from what I've read & listened to here and there. Just to be able to sing as well as he does would be enough.

I'm not a huge race follower but those small tracks bore the heck out of me. So did the DT500 though. That 2x crap was boring.

What I do at work
I would think that they would be looking at vibration sensors and temp readings. No offense but the flashlight routine looks like amateur night on a very expensive piece of equipment.
