My condolences to his family and friends. sorry this is late,
  2. I agree with @Bazoomaybe more practice, I ride my thumb close to the spool when I feel a blowup starting to happen, I try and stop it. I never really bomb lures out there much, I’m sure to wad one up, when I really going for distance. I like a short to medium cast with accuracy than an all out swing for the fence type of thing. Then I fish a lot of plastics in close quarters verses open water. @bgaviator what kind of bait do you use mostly and how heavy is it.
  3. Hi from the Sunshine State of Florida.
  4. Thanks @MN Fisher, it’s nice to see what’s happening underwater. I use a wire brush guard hook for wacky rig and will put split shot on the hook near the eye, they come in a ton of different sizes.

I’ve few red variety, not a lot.
  6. I have a small boat, I keep my plastic in the original packaging and use Plano speed bags, they work great for me. I have carry two, one for worm another for tubes and creatures. @MN Fisher you are a top notch organizer, Just so you know, I’ve copied some of your ideas. Your hook idea is next on my plans.
  7. I like to know too.
  8. This scene right here is what it’s about, “the thrill of victory, and the agony of defeat”….
  9. I think this might be true…..but a have only caught one lake smallmouth. Haha ……. I remember the first LMB I caught, I thought it was a snag, then saw the line going to the right, then I thought it was a catfish. When I landed it I was like “this isn’t like what I saw on tv”
  10. @MN Fisher that too cool!!
  11. I have a telescopic rod and a bait caster with a BFS spare spool that I got off Aliexpress. For $30.00, I’m really blown away… I have had to take it apart and clean it…. It started making noise. Stays in my truck like @crypt.
  12. I haven’t got it figured out. … I feel I didn’t spend enough time there, or I’ve waster too much time here. I go back to those spots when I’m in the area.
  13. Oh yea… our Bass wear capes and eat jig heads and poop split shots…. I dip my plastics in kryptonite, just do get them in the boat. Just kidding…. The smallmouth I’ve caught I think fight harder than the Largemouth here in the warmer river. When I go up in the springs or fish Ocklawaha river where the water is noticeably cooler I feel they fight harder and jump more often. The part of river by the house was 88+, the springs were 10+degrees cooler.
  14. Nice rig, do you keep it inflated all the time? Is transporting pretty easy?

Hi from the Sunshine State of Florida, a lot of people on here fish from a kayak or canoe.
  16. Could it be another name for skipping?
  17. Me too, they have great selection of colors. I will add, I use a tube craw from Bass Pro in okeechobee color, they had discontinued the color, great bait. I have 1 and a partial bags left, I savor them like grandma’s cookies.
  18. I hate a break off, that instant nothing feel on the rod. I’d be visiting that area again.
  19. Hi from the Sunshine State of Florida. I’ve learned a lot from here, great bunch of people here too.
  20. I live near Crescent city, but on the St John’s side. I have never fished Cresent Lake but have Dunn’s creek, near St John’s, which is attached to the lake. A lot of lay downs and pads. 7” curly tail, watermelon pearl, and bubblegum senko style is all I ever caught anything on in Dunn’s creek. I know it’s not Cresent lake but I hope this helps. Maybe @N Florida Mike has fished it.
  21. @Ratherbefishing75 I went to the App Store on my I phone, marine navigation I believe and there was a few. They’re a few on there, some free. Might check under marine plotters too. Don’t know how accurate they are.
  22. Thanks @Glenn I don’t have FFS, but if they catch fish, they can do it off screen too.
  23. I tried thinking about having a kind of ESP for bass. You know I’ll cast there, that’s where they’re at, but then I got to thinking. If I did have a Spider-Man kind of sense for bass, I wouldn’t cast unless there was a bass there, so why don’t I have a bass every cast. THEEEN…. I got to thinking …. Maybe I do have super powers for knowing where the bass are and every cast is a bass, but they don’t like the bait I’m throwing. SOOO…… I thought maybe I should hone my ESP skills into knowing what kind of bait they want too, and….. Oh look a turtle just slipped off that log, ….. is that a gator…. Man what a beautiful day. Wonder if I should switch back to junebug, or maybe a square bill. So I just went back to fishing.
  24. Whole net full of good vibes coming your way. get well soon
