Not the phone, were you able to retrieve it, or is it Davy Jones’? Glad your spinnerbait worked, what color do they call that?

    How’d it work?
  4. I use black with blue flakes, worms and creatures. I’m going to get some black grape.
  5. Hello from the Sunshine State of Florida.
  6. RIP Jimmy Buffett entertainer, song writer, and entrepreneur.
  7. “Been there, done that.” It’s wasn’t my boat, but my tractor, I assume it’s still in there swimming around. That was two years ago, no problems yet, “ knock on wood”.
  8. Just my two cent, could be wrong. I would want 2/12’s vs 1/24 …… you won’t be able to use it for anything else other than the trolling motor. Without installing a step down converter, and it would have to be a pretty hefty amp to operate the starter. You can switch batteries if you have 2/12’s, to start the motor and get ya home in an emergency situation. I wired mine with isolated switches to pull off TM battery if needed and charge while running outboard. But I’ve got acid filled batteries.
  9. I secured everything here, the rising water does more than the storm. And sometimes it takes a couple days to rise but can take months to go down.
  10. Is everyone that’s going to get affected buy the storm ready? Hope everybody and their loved ones stays safe.
  11. Never, don’t know if it matters, but my drags aren’t set very tight anyway. Use my thumb, I know it’s not the most consistent or probably the best way. Back in the day, the drags never worked that well anyways.
  12. Getting started in the rain can be rough for me, and getting going in the cold, once I’m out and get accustomed to the environment I’m pretty good.
  13. I don’t wear a specific brand, I bet mine from yard sales and thrift stores. I don’t cry the blues when I mess one up. I have been wearing a lot of the button up type, got long and short sleeve.
  14. I’ve did both, I prefer the truck. Boat on the trailer, safe and sound. Most ramps have a bathroom too. I pick up a topper for the truck, made a pvc frame, plywood and threw a mattress in and had bed I could sleep on.
  15. Ya gotta like it …… even if it’s just a little bit. @txchaser thanks for sharing
  16. I try to use the rule of thumb of clear water, light colors, dark water, dark colors. But have found that not to be true. Networking, talking to other fishing people like here on Bass Resource has worked the best for me. I too thought green pumpkin was the Holy Grail of colors until I moved to Fl. After talking with other Junebug as worked well here on the St John’s or Okeechobee is a good color too for creature baits.
  17. I like PBJ….. the fish …..about half the time for me
  18. @N Florida Mike I like bluegrass too, but it scares some people . When they hear banjos and your up one of the smaller waterways. Like bear creek or salt run. still like some metal too
  19. I rarely pack any beer to go fishing, but I do stop at one of the restaurant/ bars that are on the river, once and awhile. Not the fancy type, just chips and sandwich kinda a places. Sometimes I’ll stop and have a beer or two, have some chips, listen to all other guys tell their fishing tales. They’re all a bunch of liars. Ha haha. Bet they say the same thing about me. As I sit on a barstool next to them.
  20. How do you rig this, and what is the hook called? Just an EWG ball jig? X2 and where do you get them
  21. My condolences, lost mine too. He was a diehard fisherman too. When we bought lures, soft plastics or what ever, we bought two. We buy some for the other one as well. I couldn’t go fishing for awhile, I still think about him often and every time I go fishing now. It does get easier, it’s because I think of the happy fun times and not sad times because he’s gone. I still think about the fish we caught, to falling in and getting soaked. Good times
  22. Hey @Ohioguy25 have you watched the videos on the secret lure, if your hooks are big enough you can use those jig heads you have.
  23. @Ohioguy25 I like stupid tubes by secret lures. https://www.secretlures.com/ they editorial videos how to rig it. Bass pro has a goof-E jig head to for tubes too.
  24. @ol'crickety be sure to give an update.
