  1. Hi from the Sunshine State of Florida…….
  2. I’ve learned that I like to fish just has much as I do catching fish, which is a good thing, since I fish why more than I do catching. There is a lot more out there just like me. All so it’s ok to buy extras, baits, reels, etc…( at least that’s what I’ve learned here) But really, there’s a lot of good people here that share their experiences and knowledge. Now because of it I do more catching, not equal ratio, but more. Thanks everyone

I use BPS baits a lot. @ghost I too like the egg, great wake bait. Their plastics are good too.

I make a cruise through the fishing section and the clearance isle, which I did not know the had until a while back. They great deals there, I’ve found Zoom soft plastics for a dollar a bag. Why, I don’t know, had the same stuff in the fishing isle for regular price.
  5. @Bazoo was your 1/0 a wide gap?… or a straight worm hook.
  6. @N Florida Mike what are ya using to attach to the cinder blocks? Need more pics of your progress. You tidal there are you?
  7. Hi from the Sunshine State of Florida.
  8. Thanks @ol'crickety great story.
  9. Really!! I wouldn’t have guess that. When I lived in Nc. It never really closed out. There would be a few spots here and there, some places closed the boat ramps. I would bank fish some in the winter for river smallies.
  10. We got no ice here @Pogues2300…. Wait let me check again…. Nope nothing here. Sorry couldn’t resist, but really I do feel for you people in the north. I remember how it felt to shutting down for the winter, I was already waiting for spring.
  11. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, Be safe!
  12. When I lived in colder states, where it would freeze. My favorite was a skirted jig( green pumpkin) with a netbait paca craw, the small or medium sized ( green pumpkin or watermelon). Worked real slow, with pauses, twitched during the pauses.
  13. Thanks @Glenn and all your writers. Love this site.
  14. You’re right they are not the same. I don’t know the tech stuff, all I know is, I have Alexa in the kitchen. I use it mostly as a timer, music and converting measurements. Anyway….. a friend came over and he was asking about different cordless impacts, since I used them on the job all the time. That evening, I was flooded with adds on impacts. My point was that everywhere ya go, someone is listening. They have for years and years, went off key words that would trigger more listening. First is was for security reasons, now is used advertising. It’s just they way it is.

I sorry to hear that. RIP
  16. If ya have Alexa…….it’s listening too, Google and all the others too.
  17. Wow he caught some huge fish. RIP
  18. I like fishing in the rain, not storming, but rain. I was fishing, couldn’t buy a bite, I saw that a rain was coming, felt the pressure drop. The bite turned on, I mean it was one bite after another. I was using the same bait, fishing the same area. so I did like fishing in the rain, ass long as it’s warm too
  19. @Glenn I know what you mean, certain areas on St. John’s. I believe you could set off a depth charge and it wouldn’t affect fishing. we have boats, jet skis, airboats, and even an occasional plane doing touch and goes on the river. I still catch in those areas. I like to make a little splash when pitching around the Lillie’s pads or cattails. I feel it gets their attention makes them want to investigate. Most of my bites pitching have within a few seconds of the lure making contact with the water. In those areas I’m very quiet and use push poles to get there.
  20. Thank you @ol'crickety and @Blue Raider Bob. I’ve go to a few places that I think will let me catch a double digit….. I feel it like obi wan. I try to be so quiet, I even avoid noise I can’t hear, my sonar. I pull my trolling motor up and push pole in and just sit in the pads for a little while. I look and listen for any movement of the Lilly’s , watch for swirls , just listening. Quite relaxing actually. Great article thanks again. G
  21. Welcome Back Home, @N Florida Mike…..
