  1. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIE SITE! I consider FB, twitter, and all those site to be social media. I consider Bass Resource to be just like the sandwich shop restaurant I stop at. A few people, well here, a lot of people, talking about fishing. Where and how they’re catching them, even safely stuff, watch out , around the power line, a log washed in and so & so lost a prop. Stuff like that, As far as rules and moderators go …. Ya gotta have rules, without them, it would be anarchy….. even the sandwich shop has them. You get outta line… she’ll tell ya. “ take it outside, and not just on my dock but, out on the water” This ain’t social media… it’s a place where people talk about something we’ll all love to do.
  2. Ok I’ve got Jann’s net craft Lure parts online Barlow’s got-’‘em bookmarked. I snooped around the websites all of you gave me, I never realized all this stuff was available. I’m almost afraid to go “down that rabbit hole”. I mean WOW! I’ve got a couple worm molds that I melt my used soft plastics down and hand pour some baits. “Do I take The red pill, or the blue pill”

  4. Where does everyone, if anyone, buy small amounts of spinner bait supplies? I did some research and with most parts, it’s buying larger quantities. I just want to change some blades or add some beads maybe even build a few from scratch. I don’t need 50 of each, just about 10 beads would do me. Who knows maybe I’ll get into it more and, buy larger amounts but, for now just a few will do me. Any suggestions? Thanks
  5. Fall really hasn’t started for us yet, I did notice it was a little cooler one morning. When does get here, it actually gets a little more crowded here. But that’s ok, a lot of them are my friends. So we catch up when we run in to one another on the water. I do enjoy the cooler mornings though, the fish bite a little longer too. The bite doesn’t turn off until 12:00 or 1:00 instead of 10:00 or 11:00. The fall migration of the animals is always nice to see, and what trees that are seasonal here turn too. It’s all good.
  6. Went out with my brother in law, fishing a spring feed river that is so clear, that 2 inches could be 20 feet. The night before I spooled clear mono, I figured with it being semi-pressured, they’d be pretty spooky. When I was putting my gear in the boat at his house, I saw that he had dark green braid spooled on his rigs. No leader, tied direct to the hook. He actually caught more fish than me that day, so it changed my way of thinking about bass fishing and line.
  7. Hello from the Sunshine State of Florida. I used to live just north of Asheville, near a place called Burnsville. Did a a lot of smallie fishing there

  9. @Dan N your a gentleman and a scholar sir. . @Bazoo Those are solid rigs, I’ve got a few Bass Pro rigs. I use a lot of BPS baits too.
  10. You got that right….. I was lucky when I got mine, he was moving, I was just going to buy the tractor. He said “it’s all got to go” gave me a price I couldn’t resist. Got bush hog, finish mower and , box blade with trailer to haul it all, at a reasonable price. What size tractor did ya get?
  11. Congratulation, great feeling isn’t, … but I think the Bait Monkey heard ya, last seen heading your way.
  12. Hi You got a decent setup, I have one similar that I was wade fishing with. What kind of fish are you going after or just general fishing? You going to be lake, streams, river fishing? Do you want to sit on the bank or dock and fish, or do you want to cast and work a lure or spinner? Sorry for all the questions but it will give everyone an idea of how you want to fish.
  13. Thanks @Glenn I never had very much confidence with spinners, but I never had it broke down like that. I think I’ll go out and give them another try. Thanks
  14. How far up do ya split them @Catt…….I’ve never heard of this.
  15. I’m not good with knots and end up with a long tag, it goes in garbage or my pocket. I’m telling ya, I hate using a palmor knot….. I’ll have to re-spool after a few re-ties, I end up with a huge tag.
  16. Whopper plopper, and I have a bunch of them, nada, zilch zipp. Maybe everyone is lying about them catching fish as a big joke on me. ….I’ve got 11 of them. ….. and I’ve never fished drop shot.
  17. @N Florida Mike we got the edge of it last night. It was a little interesting for awhile here. I'm going with @Mike L small twister. The wind was coming from all directions, and had some hail. Did it break the lines or just drag anchors?
  18. Well, let me tell ya…. I’m not a master at any of it. I can hold my own at some of it, maybe better than a few, not as good as most. I’m not very good a skipping baits , spinning rig. ….ehhhh. Bait caster I’ll wad one of those up in a hurry. It has to be brought home and cut out. I’m absolutely terrible at casting left handed. NO ONE is safe, not man or beast alike are safe. Turtles dive off, birds fly away, all creatures hide when I try to cast left handed. But…..: I really love to fish…. just getting out there, sitting there, watching the daylight peaking out. Drinking my coffee, eating a egg and cheese biscuit. I could not catch a fish ( I hope an try too) and I’ve still had a good day.
  19. I’m sorry your going through this. Try and keep you eyes on the horizon,
  20. Hi from the Sunshine State of Florida. There is a few more writers here in the forum, I’m sure you’ll here from them.
  21. I just remembered something about wacky worming…… Had a guy tell me, he put a wacky worm, with a bobber, drug it around behind him while he fished. As he would work the bank and structure trolling along. It just followed him along while he worked a Tex rig worm. He admitted it wasn’t 100% effective, and it was sometimes a pain keeping an eye on it. But he claimed he caught fish once in a while. I might just have to try that one time…. Providing the situation is right.
  22. Yep being young and dumb was no excuse….. I just had to take that one on the chin.. learned a valuable lesson.
  23. I got caught trying to do that, here in Fl. It turned into a big ole mess. Bought a blazer for $1500.00, tried telling the state I paid $500.00 for it. They sent me a notice, the truck was worth $3500.00, and owed $xxxx.x amount more. I had take off from work, pay extra filling fees, plus they want to actually see the truck and check all VIN numbers. I did get them to lower the value being it wasn’t in “ like new” condition, but it was more than I had actually paid. In the end it cost me more in the long run. Should have stuck with the actual price, had a bill of sale to back that one up.
  24. And here I thought it was a secret, hahaha. I still haven’t figured out that area…..one day boat load of fish. I’ll fish the very next day…. Same time, same places, practically same weather. Couldn’t get fish with dynamite….go figure.
  25. I’ve got a few good friends that we exchange “spots”. I mostly well tell people the area, like “the backside of Hog Island on the Ocala side”…..It’s a pretty big area. I’ll tell people what they’ve been biting on, color, size, type. I run into people that have traveled a long way to fish, especially in the winter time. I really hate to think of them going home skunked. Besides all of us are friends on one level or another, some more than others, some not enough,…..to give up “the spot”
