Not all that common, but I've never caught a double on one lure. I have caught two white bass on a double jig rig.

Me too on the chatterbait and drop shot. A drop shot just feels like a lot of work to rig it. I have cast my chatterbaits, but nothing.

In 60 years, I've never lost a fish bigger than my PB.

Okay, I'm not crazy about chatterbaits, but that actually boggles my mind. Your Maine bass are cray cray.

Never thrown a dropshot, free rig, tokyo rig, or inurig.

Never caught a double, same as @the reel ess

Never caught a bass on a walking bait, but ain't really put time into em

Mention any cover, I'm good to go. I'm pretty sure somebody could name any type of cover and I've caught a bass out of it. The craziest is tires, but lemme tell you, there's some tires that hold some schools of bass.

I know, huh? It boggles my mind too. I have shared many times how I'm constantly switching baits to see what they'll hit, so I must have thrown chatterbaits on half a dozen trips this summer, but nothing. Not even a hit. And I've tried them shallow and deep and up against cover and in the middle of nowhere and in transition zones. I'll keep trying, like I keep trying with walking baits, which Tom (@WRB) correctly observed are hard to fish from a canoe.

How is there so many people saying chatterbait??!!! Mobasser added into the mix.

What is the world coming to? I mean, yeah, spinnerbaits are better, but holy cow, never catching a fish on a chatter? That's wild.

I bought maybe 4 jackhammers a long time ago. Worked good when I used them, then I lost all but one of them. If you want to know how to quickly lose $50 in chatterbaits, I can offer expert advice. Just fish from the bank, fish them on the bottom like a jig, and make sure you are around riprap or timber.

I can't make this stuff up ?

Add me to the list of those that never caught a double. I did once have an almost 5 lb. Smallie inhale a 12ish inch pickeral I was reeling in but couldn't re set the hook into it. Not sure if tht would've counted as a double anyway.?,

I cut my teeth fishing a chatterbait over riprap...if you let it fall, say goodbye LOL it's one of the main reasons I started off using the micro version...way cheaper when they inevitably get snagged. But a chatterbait over riprap is deadly.

I've never caught a bass on a standard skirted jig, though I got close last week. Never caught a fish on a crankbait. Never caught a double.

I've never caught a bass out deep. Haven't really put in the time, either. I love casting to cover I can see, and picking it apart. Seeing structure on a sonar screen and dropping a jig or pulling down a deep diving crankbait just doesn't excite me.

That's surprising too actually. Rocks are my favorite cover to fish jigs in. Sometimes it's a little harder to work them from the bank though, so I hear ya

@galyonj @ol'crickety @Mobasser

PLEASE consider changing the name of all your chatterbaits to "Vibrating Jig".

And then think of them and fish them that way.

#likeajig.

Meaning ONLY move the bait with the ROD, not the reel.

You'll be glad you did.

My work is done here.

I've never caught a bass off a hard jerkbait.  At least not while jerking it.  I caught a few, many, many years ago when I thought they were just long, skinny crankbaits and fished them with a steady retrieve.   I fish stained waters though.  But I do alright with soft jerkbaits sometimes.

I have never caught or fished for lake Smallmouth, which is odd considering I'm in the Great Lakes region. Only lake and pond Largemouth and river and stream Smallmouth.
