Nice fish @Darth-Baiter some people can’t stand when your catch and they’re not.

I usually like to start in the rivers with worms or hellgrammites. Clearwater….. green pumpkin or watermelon. I’ll switch around from there.

Had musky in Nc, here we have Gar. They are pretty toothy too.

I use Berkeley X-9…… Mind you, I’m not a fan of braid. It is too noisy but X-9 seems to the quieter than most.

I like sitting in the boat before sunrise and eat an egg & cheese biscuit, drink my coffee. If I’m going to be out all day, it’s a PBJ for lunch and some chips. Always lots to drink.

I live on the St Johns in Florida, they are every where. It has become second nature to kinda be on the lookout for them. For the most part they stay away from you. Every morning I’ve got a big one swim by the house, 10+, and he mosses back by in the evening.

I know what ya mean @Woody B. I really like the zoom trick worm, motoroil color, but it is completely different now. Have been using okeechobee color, kinda of a laminate blue and green pumpkin.

Nice work, when I was in school I took a job a mason tender, keep them supplied with material. I humped motar, stucco, and block and brick. Those guys like to work me to death. I wasn’t about to quit, but I was sure glad when school started back up.

I went an looked at my plastics, I really don’t have any purples. I have tequila sunrise which is kinda purplish. Sure have caught fish with that color. Always have some on hand, but I really don’t have a straight purple. Adding some to my cart now.

I have fished eel grass, where it went from bottom to the surface. Working plastic worms through it, slowly bouncing and letting it sink a bit. I use as little of weight as I can get away with. I would bring it up to the surface, pull it along the top of the grass, for a couple of feet. Let it sink again, you have to watch your line constantly, because of the slack you give it to sink straight down.

Curbing it makes life easy, and if they sell it or scrap, make me no never mind. It’s just gone.

Beautiful, absolutely beautiful….. seems like you had a great day on the water. I mean besides the reel that gave up the ghost, cracked rod and hooked. You’ve been slamming it here lately.

I’ve seen that happen, I was bouncing a worm next to 4-5 bass laying together. They would watch it, follow it, when I went to retrieve it for another cast one made a mad dash and hit my bait. My theory is, now mind you, it doesn’t make it right. You’re bouncing along your bait, they seen it, watch it, are interested but something doesn’t tickle their fancy. But….. when you start your steady retrieve they, the fish, think it’s going to get away and triggers a reactionary strike. I guess it appeals to them but not quite good enough. When they think they are going to completely miss out on the opportunity they say “What the heck just eat it”. Anyway…… that my thoughts on it, like I said doesn’t mean it right.

Glad everyone is ok, something similar happened to a friend of mine. He took a direct hit to his meter can on the side of his house. It blew all his wiring in the house, it blew out drywall all through the house. Every junction in the house blew out the walls in chunks. They stripped the place down to the studs and started over.
