  1. HOT DANG!!! A NEW BOAT!!! How many times have ya went out in the driveway just to look at it? Congratulations
  2. That is a hard question to answer, I was catching fish on a “match the hatch” kinda bait, boot tail that looked like a shiner. A friend was tossing a Christie Critter, from the other end of the boat. It was completely different color and size and caught just as many fish as I did. I haven’t got it figured yet, but I’m having fun trying.
  3. I have all my Plano boxes labeled….. they fit in my tackle bag hinge down. So I put labels on the edge, jigs, topwater , etc. ..
  4. @ol'crickety I did they same thing a couple of months ago, I just keep reposting it and reposting, I don’t know how many times I did it.….hope ya don’t get upset but I’m glad you didn’t it too..LOL!. So it wasn’t just me…hahah just mark up as “The Inexplicable”
  5. @ol'crickety I agree, I agree, I agree, and I agree…. Oh and me 2
  6. Thank goodness for animalistic instincts
  7. I made myself shallow water anchors with fiberglass tree stakes. As far as using a throwable anchor, not for a long time. Like @ol'crickety said earlier, about parking the pads. I use that method too.
  8. It’s not going to hurt it. Then your on your normal maintenance schedule. It will be ready to for the whole next season.
  9. Glad no one was hurt and it was covered being fixed.
  10. Hi from the Sunshine State of Fl.
  11. It’s not about fishing or paddling, but in my early 20’s, I was in a car wreck. The car caught on fire, somehow I ended up in the backseat. I was kicking the front seat , trying to get it to go forward and stay. I remember the headliner melting and dropping melted plastic on me. A woman came to the drivers side and helped me out. Next I was on my hands and knees, watching the blood drip off my face on the ground. She had one hand on my back and one on my stomach, telling me to “ breathe deep, get it all out, just breathe deep” . I think I blacked out, next thing I knew was the first responders were fixing me up. I asked about the lady that go me out of the car, the couple that was first on the scene, said I was by myself on my hands and knees in the field all alone, no one else was around. Still makes me wonder.
  12. Seems he’s just a cheater….. His wife has left him, she also filed stalking & harassment charges against him. Has charges of trying to pass counterfeit bills at a bowling alley. Now he is pouching deer, must be his “way of life”. Is it greed? Is it the he feels his self worth is so low, that he will cheat or steal to make people think that he has accomplished more in life. Sad.
  13. I love it!!!!.. that’s quite the fishing buggy. Don’t forget always wear your PDF.
  14. @galyonj get well soon….. oh Happy Birthday.
  15. I fish with left handed baitcaster, cast right, crank left. I can with with right handed reels but doesn’t feel natural.
  16. I have a carbonlite combo bait caster, I really like it. It’s all around a great set up. I am looking to get another one. I can’t speak for your other choices, but their reputation speaks for themselves.
  17. @Koz. I’m sorry. I’ d like to think he saw you were coming to his aid. There is a place for those people and, there is a place for you too. It will be way better than the place they are going. thanks for trying. G
  18. This maybe what the soul needs, It looks like a great place.
  19. Don’t know the conditions you’re wanting to fish, I had a 12 ft flat bottom Jon boat, with a 30 lb 12 volt Minn Kota. They are about $100 bucks a Walmart, got a deep cycle battery there too. I used the small one, the size of a car battery, group 24 I think. III worked just fine for my style of fishing. Just remember boat that size are weight sensitive, keep your gear and other items to a minimum. I’ve got a 15ft mod v with only a 45lb-12v and it works just fine for me. I’d keep cost down to a minimum, probably be wanting to upgrade before long.
  20. Hi from the Sunshine State of Florida
  21. @RRocket ,yes it’s hog food, they feed pigs different protein foods through out their life. It sinks to the bottom, the shiner guys will broad cast it in an area, go do a few areas like that. Then they come back and cast net, I’m no expert but I think they use because it’s cheaper than fish food. And most fish food floats. This sinks and stays in one area, they cast net it a few times.
  22. A lot people use them here to catch shad and shiners. If had to rely on my cast netting skills to fish, I’d never get to fish. They use hog finisher to chum them in, then cast over the beds. Like @WRB mentioned some states they don’t allow cast nets in fresh water.
  23. I’ve never heard of before, thanks
  24. The bait monkey makes me buy new baits to try.
  25. Ok….. I’m a budget fisherman…. I got cane ends at Walmart, put stainless washers in them….. but I like @T-Billy idea better with the lead. It takes less and the cane end would fit more the up on the end of the rod. I balance my rods, so they are balanced without a lure. I like to feel the weight of the lure, and adjust from there. If I’m fishing with a heavy lure, I feel it and know how hard to cast, or easy to cast. I’m not saying this is right, it just works for me.
