Man VS Food has nothing on this consumer of mass quantities.
That which has been seen cannot be unseen. However, slaughtering a pig works well for overwriting the visual memory buffers.

Learning new lures and techniques
I think a big factor in this method is also how often you get out to fish. If you only get out to the water once or twice a month, spending one of those days dedicated to learning a specific technique can be very frustrating if you are unsuccessful. Using a tried and true technique that you have confidence in to get on the fish first, then switching to the new technique definitely has merit.

First Artificial lure
An old beat up jitterbug out of my Grandpa's tacklebox. It was the only lure in his tacklebox, everything else was homemade lead weights, hooks, and stinkbait.

Would it be worthwhile to purchase this broken G Loomis broken rod?
Here's why it might be considered stealing by some. If the intent is to purchase a rod that is drastically discounted because it's broken, having it replaced with a new rod on a warranty exchange may be seen as a dishonest abuse of the 'no questions asked' policy.

Favorite Dish
It's the only day of the year that I actually look forward to eating turkey.

Braid or Floro?
I started using leaders so I'm not cutting away braid on every retie. A filler spool of fluoro lasts a long time when you're only using 6-8 feet at a time.

Triple Fish FC for $2...good deal?
Could use it for throwaway leader material

Braid or Floro?
Another vote for braid with a fluoro leader.

Fishing Tackle Giveaway Contest.
Nice job to both BASSclary and Packman. I'm glad both of you enjoy fishing with your fathers so much, and hope my son follows in your footsteps (he's about to turn 3).

I think he's saying that the combination of a high resistance spinnerbait with a fast retrieve reel is putting a lot of pressure on the rod.

CAM NEWTON
Free education is all the benefit they need. Now, if a respectable percentage of them actually GOT an education, that would truly be something.

What's Your Fishing Bucket List?
1. Teach my son to fish, and hopefully help him to enjoy it as much as I do

Anniversary gift from employer (Exceler Combo)
The combo came in today, and it turns out the rod is a two piece - 5'6" MF. It's a little short for me, but I'm thinking I'll give it an outing or two with some lipless cranks before I decide anything. I did spool up the reel and got some yard practice in this afternoon, and so far I think I'm definitely going to like the reel.

Anniversary gift from employer (Exceler Combo)
So, I made it ten years at my company, and I got to choose a gift from an online "business partner". I skipped over the purses, cheap watches, and crap electronics and picked out a Daiwa Exceler baitcaster combo. I've read lots of positive comments here about the Exceler reels, so I'm excited about the reel. Unfortunately I can't find diddly about the rods. The usual suspects (big box retailers) have the usual reviews, and I generally don't put much stock in those. Does anybody know anything about the Exceler rods? I think the listing for the combo said 6' MF. I figure if nothing else it might end up being a good starter rod for my future fishing partner (about to turn 3).
