  1. First off, its an assumption that the guys winning the tournaments sank them and didn't find them on their own as well. The only problem I have is the guy or team that fish the whole season and rarely limits or comes close to cashing. Those are the guys who will steal spots. Find your own areas with your own skill. To me, its like coping your neighbors paper on a test in class. You cheated to get the answer. hence it wasn't your own efforts that gained you an advantage. Planting brush for me evened the playing field. I fish against guys whos Dads grew up on those lakes and now their sons, guys/partners have 40-50 years of time on the water. These guys have or know about 1000's of piles or attractors. Either join them or keep contributing to the fishing funds of others.
  2. Spawning should be in full swing in late January on Falcon. You'll only need a Mexican fishig License if you fish on the Mexican side. Will send you a pm on info. Hookem
  3. If I had special fish in a tank I wouldn't take the cheap wAY out to protect my fish. The question is about a home remedy for lowering Ph. It does the trick. White vinegar is a distilled acidic. "Distilled" Use the test kit to verify the results with a simple testing and that will show you the results in seconds. I simply answered the question as it was asked.
  4. White vineagar or pickle juice will do the trick as a home remedy.
  5. Senile, You get that reaction from alot of people who aren't die hard outdoorsmen. "Birds of a feather, flock together"
  6. Whats so hard to understand about being labeled as a rookie. Guys play football for most of their lives and when your a freshmen in college, your a "rook", when you get drafted to the pros, your a "rook". The label is in no way ever meant they don't know nothing. So yes, if this is your first year to ever qualify for the Elites, your a rookie. It speaks of your first season on tour and nothing else.
  7. When the weather changes alot, like starting in late fall and winter, you see lots of low pressure conditions arise. When this happens, the bite or the pattern ican be and usually is very unstable. Summer, the high pressure days set in, with very few weather changes, thus you get into to stable patterns that may last for months. As for pressure, it depends on lake depths and time of the year the weather patterns change as to how much it effects the fish. When a front passes, a low pressure condition will arise. The atomospere is exerting pressure upon the water. Fish that are shallow or live shallow are effected the most because they can't adjust by moving down in the water column. Where as a fish that lives deep can move up or down in the water column to adjust to the water pressure being exerted upon their swim bladders.

If it wasn't for college football, most colleges couldn't afford to have a basketball program. So yes, how could you have a college bball thread without mentioning football? lol
  9. Since Bud was sold to a Euro company, they have decided to no longer fund the TPWD ShareLunker program that began in 1986. Thanks to Budweiser for giving as long as they did.
  10. Could be blade colors are off or not natural, Could be to big of a bait, maybe a smaller profile is needed. Could be that its winter, and a tight wobbling bait is needed. Normally, when a bass follows, there are subtle changes to be made. And it maybe as stated, just plain curious.
  11. I try to let them enjoy there coffee without me. Theres 1000's of docks on most lakes, and not fishing one isn't gonna hurt me. I'll say good morning, what a beautiful day to be having coffee on the water. Most the time, you can tell if its gonna be okay or not. If its a not a warm exchange, I move on. We all hear the loud clanks off dock owners fiberglass and aluminum boats, its not like they don't have some concerns for their property.
  12. Thanks for that info. That is an accurate account and good start to a fishing journal/log.
  13. That New Lake Record of 15.45 from Jan. 29, 2009 didn't stand very long. Thats 3 bass of 15 lbs this year from Choke Canyon, you know she's gotta have some bigger swimming around.
  14. Yesterday, there was a reported SAL caught on Choke. Todays BassChamps tournament on Choke had 3 SAL's brought in. 15.56, 15.20 and a 13 in change. 38.80+ won the 20,000. first place and 1000.00 for big bass. results are posted on BassChamps. Not bad for 207 boat team tournament. Imagine catching a 13 lber and thinking you at least have big bass, or 15.20 and you don't win big bass.
  15. If you haven't noticed this year, FLW has added a few more rules into the mix. You can no longer "jackpot" the FLW. FLW added a rule that prevents anglers from fishing just one tournament. Wa are not talking about the minor trails just the top pros. Its basically the same rule that the Elites have in place. You must lock in for the whole season. FLW's new rule prevents BASS boys from fishing the open. AS for the BASS boys that left BASS, the majority left a few years back when BASS was sponsored by Triton, and Triton didn't think it was fair for them to foot the bill and allow other boat manufactures the chance for advertising, mainly, it was Skeeter boys who left for the FLW. That reason and Busch beer. If it wasn't for Triton, most of those Skeeter boys would have never left. Once Triton stepped down and you are allowed to run your sponsored boat, alot of those guys have tried to re-qualify and some have re-qualified like Alton Jones and Mark Davis. The only pros leaving BASS are the one who don't re-qualify after failing to qualify during the season. Ya'll be the judge, what tournaments gets the majority of threads? BASS What pros get the most threads? BASS Basically, FLW gets talked about when comparing it to who? BASS The threads on this forum say BASS is still the one. How many pros that re-qualifed on the BASS Elite tour left for FLW's? Name some? I know some guys who left BASS due to financial reasons but didn't go to the FLW tour. Proof is in the pudding, the pros who did leave, primarilly left when it was Skeeter/Triton issues.
  16. Lets beat this to death somemore. lol If you followed them in your "own" boat, your gonna spend over a hundred bucks in gas if you watched them for 2-4 days anyway. Your own boat, you aren't gonna be that close to see the small things he may be doing to get bit. You would probably get just as bored if you were in your own boat as well. Got lots of buddies who are on the waiting list as well. Don't see BASS having any problems filling the boats like some suggested. LOL.
  17. Congrats on that 2nd place finish Chase. Way to whack em after a non productive morning Never give up.
  18. Try a pm to chasescott and LTrain. They are from Ark. I Think Chase just took second as co boater this past week on Dardinelle. Also, Espn just ran a day on the lake at Degray with two pros this past weekend, maybe getting a hold of that may give yoy some insight.
  19. When talking BASS vs FLW, Big boys have had 6 tournaments to the 11 events BASS held. So Bass dropped 3 events and added 2 AOY tournies for those that qualify. Don't see where FLW even if they go to versus channel is doing anything different. Purses didn't go up any. And the only BASS boys moving over there now would be the one who don't requalify, It seems that some of the old BASSers have come back after a few season on FLW. No matter how you slice it in the public eye, fishing on TV only appeals to a few individuals, no matter if it was NBC, CBS, or any other prime time TV station. Theres just a few of us out there who care to watch bass fishing on TV. I do think that the 2 trails are needed to push the envelope.
  20. Ish got fined 50 bucks for being late to the mandatory meeting to start with. He got into yelling match before takeoff with BASS official. No profanity at that time if I read that right. He then ran across lake to his truck to get his copy, while doing so, he ran through no wake zone leaving the takeoff site. When he got back, BASS official said he would launch after everyone else so they could speak of the no wake zone violation. Then Ish used some very colorful words and was DQ'd due to unsportsman like conduct. Remember, this was takeoff, and fans was present to witness all this. No one to blame for ones actions except ones self.
  21. Thats a good sign when you catch small bass or the buck bass shallow. Males will move in and out of the shallows weeks before the females while setting up the house so to speak.. Not saying females won't move up to sun or eat as well. When the small bass are shallow, a good rule of thumb is to find the first break lines and work those deeper areas slow. It maybe a treeline in deeper water, a drainage ditch, a depression within a flat, creek channels, anything that offers depth to stage in. Good luck,
  22. I hope the storms overnight don't mess up the creeks.
  23. When I have encountered this in the past, its always associated with cold water. What are your water temps?
  24. Dropped passes. LOL, Another Media driven stat that only applied to TO or other problem childs in the league. LOL Did yall ever go back 5 years and tell me who led the league then? LOL A TO driven new stat. I'm sorry, but the last year Vick played QB in Atlanta, I'd bet that they're receivers dropped twice as many as TO did that year, and TO supposedly led the league. This stat is bogus, I'd bet my BassCat PII that TO was not the league leader, Just a Media driven stat aimed at TO. Again, at what time did they start keeping that stat?
