Carolina Cranking?
I employ an old striper fishermens trick. I use the old hell bender to get my cranks down deeper. Remove the hooks from the old hellbender and replace the front hook with egg sinker, experiement for the best weight set up as to what your trailing with. Place leader on the back hook with spoon tied on the back. This is something striperfishermen like to do when trolling. But works well if you can make long casts, and thats not a problem with my long cranking rods. Best way I know of getting a bait down deep and very successfull rig. Your hellbender will get alot of hits, but that spoon trailing will get the job done.

Weigh-in Trailers?
Darrin, I will be at Media Opens on Dec 6 and 13. If Gordon is running them, he'll have his trailer there and I will get pictures of his setup for ya. I searched Media's Website, most pictures are close ups and don't give you the detail you are seeking. If my divisonal director is there, he has cab over camper and pulls a 20 ft flat utility trailer. Checkout Mediabass.com. Tons of pictures in past results, some give some shots, but most are closeups as mentioned. Matt

Any experience with Media Bass tournaments?
Fished Media this year in Texas, and other years, if you looked at their site, you'll see this next year marks their 21 season. Meida is for the working team. 150 bucks for entry on teams, 10 big bass pot. What nice is, if you qualify in points in your divison, you qualify for all six championships where you can win a BassCat w/200hr. Other regions will pay out cash, and as soon as it grows enough, a BassCat will be up for grabs there as well. I am also eligible for BassCat incentive money at every Media event. I have known the owner of the trail, Gordon Stauffer for 5 years, good christian man. I hope that trail takes off, its always nice to have choices in what you fish.

Football!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its not over yet. Texas will still have played a tougher conference schedule than Tech or OU. Neither of them played 4 straight top 10 teams as Texas did. Also, OU and Tech didn't face Mizzou either. Also, Texas defense in conference play gave up an average of 24.4 PPG, OU gave up 29.8 points per game and TT gave up 31.8 ppg. Tech at home went to OT against Nebraska. The only non cof. team that Tech played with any salt was Nevada, who has been Bowling the last 3 years straight. TCU comes from the same conference as Nevada, TCU didn't do much against OU either. But they are ranked. Texas best non conference win was against the SEC and Arkansas. Even if OU beats Oklahoma State, Texas would have still played the toughiest conference schedule. Take into the account of the neutral field and win head to head with OU, Texas still should maintain its number 2 BCS ranking as long as they take care of aTm. Either way, I just want some Big XII and SEC bowl games this year.

Weigh-in Trailers?
Tongue pull or gooseneck? We have numberous types of trailers on our various tours. Some have the platforms attached to the side, drop down stage, that is hinged, easy stow, easy setup. Most have dual compartment, where as the nose is the office, and the back is the storage for equiment. Congrats Darrin, didn't know you had started a trail in Iowa.

How many tournaments are scheduled up north in the early months? Most of the time, the tour starts in the south. What BASS tournament has ever been in 10 below weather?

Things are getting worst for co-anglers all around-KY State Federation example
Not to be mean or anything else. If you don't like the rules, buy your own boat. You don't make the payments on the boat, or the insurance, or the gas used to tow that boat to that lake, or even come close to paying the pro's entry. The pro has more invested and should control the boat. And last but not least, we all have a choice if we don't like the rules, no body is forcing you to play by their rules.

Titans Rule!
I love good played football, and the Titans as a team are playing good football. Giants as a team are getting it done as well.

Using online maps for pre-fishing
Do you think they would allow citizens to zoom in on their house during the day trying to catch strange car parked in the driveway? You can request to buy a picture online, you will get current photo.

NFL Rookie of the Year.
NFL Rookie of the Year race could be very interesting this year. Joe Flacco Matt Ryan Matt Forte? Chris Johnson Who else has made impacts? Defensive selections?

Kurt Warner for MVP
Warner does have the stats thus far, his team is in first place, that was odd saying that, when have the Cardinals lead the divison? Two of the best teams in football, Giants and Titans are doing it as a team. Giants and Titans are running game by committee. Have shown the ability to pass when needed, both have solid defenses and good kicking game. What running backs have the numbers to show they are MVP material this year? AP? Kurt and his first place Cardinals would be a safe vote at half way. We got alot of football to be played.

HEY CATT: Troy @ LSU?
I haven't heard Catt playing up LSU much this year. Catt was very aware of their QB experience this year. You never know, that comeback may have given "pick six" the spark he needs next year. A team only goes as far as their leader can take them. That was one amazing comeback.

Any dart throwers out there?
I have always had a dart board up. Love steel darts, don't care about electronic darts. Used to be a ton of bars with Steel darts, Insurance got so high, they are getting scarce in some parts of the state.

Man made structure/cover
In Texas, its not up to the the Game Wardens to decide what you can sink. . Its the controlling water authority of said Resovoir or lake that controls that. The very same authority that tells residents on most lakes what kind of docks they can build would be the same agenscy to ask if its legal in your state. With that being said, the Core of Engs. has been using tires to make reefs in alot of man made lakes. They are two huge tire reefs towards the dam on Fork

Need small appliance help please.
Theres normally a thermal fuse attatched to the outside of the drum. Trace the wiring out from where the power enters the dryer. It will lead you to the thermal fuse, normally about the size of a quarter, with two posts, wired in series. Thermal fuse will go out if you have a clogged vent or somewhat restricted vent. Like mentioned, a volt meter can check both out, the heating element or the thermal fuse. The thermal fuse is about 10-15 bucks at a appliance repair shop. Replace it if you don't have a meter, if it works, your okay, if it don't, take it back and get the heating element. Always unplug the dryer when doing continuity/resistence check.

A question about fall
Well that rat-l-trap would work, but just not in that ugly fire engine red color. Thats funny. Back to the drawing board for old Catt.

Lake project ideas.....
I was going to suggest a native grass project, but with fluctauting levels, that seems to be a futile battle for native lake vegitation. The only way to provide better bassin is to provide cover for bait fish and fry to survive. That means providing habitat. I know you would like original ideas, but maybe figuring out how to recycle something and use them in creating these habitats. Some core lakes allow tire reefs to be built for example. I love the Pavilon idea as well. Good luck and thanks for caring.

Interesting football games this weekend
They beat a NC state team who is 3-6 Lost to Vandy who is 5-4 Lost to Georgia who hasn't beat much of any one either to be #10 beat Wolford beat UAB Beat 5-4 Miss beat 6-4 Kentucky Lost to LSU beat Tenn 3-7 beat Ark 4-6. 4-3 conference play, they havent beaten a top 20 team all year, and none of their wins are big wins. Merely a big boost to help Florida's SOS in the end. WVU could as easily be BCS #25 instead of #25 S. Carolina. Anyway, I'd rather see Florida win just because they are playing great ball, and Florida and Alabama will settle it on the field to see who represents the SEC.

Interesting football games this weekend
A gimmie to South Carolina to make Floridas schedule more impressive in my opinion. They didn't look top 25 early in the season, and 7-3, I can think of a few teams that may deserve to be there.

A question about fall
His question again, was how to fish a laydown. He didn't say I live in Minnesota, water temps are steady at 50 degrees and yada yada yada. He even said he fished a bunch with no luck. Again my question was, if you have been fishing a bunch of laydowns, and haven't caught a single one, how do you know they are there in the first place? The answer is not because you live in Texas and we live in the north. lol He didn't even ask for baits to try, he asked how to fish a laydown period. Where would you throw? Any other information would be off topic since none of those facts are neccessary to fish a laydown. how fast the temp drops up north depends on how big the body of water is as well and he didn't say he was fishing 100,000 surface acres or 3000 acres, by the way, one of those will cool down faster than the other, or if it was attached to a river, stream or man made or natural body of water. All factors in determining how fast a lake will cool. All of which playes no part of the simple question, how would you fish a laydown. By the way, off topic again, a bass anatiomy is still the same. What drives a bass is water temp. I know lakes are made differently across the country, but if you know the lake prey and their fall habits, factor in a bass is colded blooded, and you still have the factors to peice together based on water temp, no mater what part of the hemisphere you live in.
