Fishing pants
I'll third these. There was another thread on pants a while ago, I'll link it below. Some good options in this thread, you can see my thoughts on the wrangler outdoor pants ( which I now own multiple pairs of).

Is there such thing as a budget trout swim bait?
Savage gear 3d trout are awesome. I have a 6 inch that swims amazingly well and looks very detailed. Line through is $11.99. I don't have the boot tail version but those are only like 7 bucks at TW.

Fishmas 2020 loot
I just couldn't wait to open it, so it is time for another loot post courtesy of @heavyduty ! Can't thank you enough man, blown away by your generosity! So many interesting lures! I see myself doing a lot of ned rigging and tube fishing in the near future! Is this crankbait custom painted? It looks awesome, I can't wait to get so many of these new lures wet. Merry Fishmas!

Wrapping Guides
I'm on my fourth build right now and this still happens to me. One thing I did was change to size D thread. A bigger thread is easier to work with. Some say that smaller thread is more astheticly pleasing however so you may not want to do this. Another thing I have read (but have not tried) is filing down the foot of the guides so that it is a very smooth transition, especially where the tip meets the blank.

Largemouth Bass Tree Ornament
Neat! If you want some more fishing bling on the tree, you can always practice casting crankbaits indoors! Mine always seem to be drawn to and end up in trees! ?

Length of this muskie
I'd say it's a safe 40" I wouldn't say any more than that. I personally wouldn't give it a precise measurement (down to 1/2 or 1/4 inch) because it isn't a perfect photo and there is room for discrepancy.

KVD 1.5 Hard Knock
Looks like a winner to me. Never thrown the hard knock but the original silent 1.5 has a great action - I don't see this bait being any different. Might need to pick up a few of these.

- Need help with fly rod
I bought the following reel seat for my fly rod. (Dimensions available) https://rodbuilderswarehouse.com/collections/fly-reel-seats/products/seaguide-aluminum-fly-reel-seat-model-tfs?variant=34122279813255 Now I need a grip for it. I was thinking of a half wells grip, but I am not sure how the two will for together and I don't know if I would need to buy a certain one or not. I have seen some grips on websites come precut and that is causing some confusion for me. Would someone with a little bit of experience building fly rods be able to help me out? Is there a certain size or handle thing to factor in or will the seat just fit pretty much any handle I pick out? Thanks- Finally, it's on the way!
Can't wait to see it!- Looking at a new reel Can't find much info on it
It sure is pretty! And honestly it might be a fine performer, most of these reels are made in the same factories and made of the same parts as mainstream reels. Just don't be surprised if you buy it and it ends up falling apart haha... FWIW the Daiwa reels from the revros lt and up are AMAZING for the $$ I have a revros LT and know multiple folks with the regal/rg.. the reels are honestly just dynamite for the money. So as pretty as this is, I would have a hard time taking a shot in the dark at this reel when I know that for the same price I can net a home run with a revros lt.- Abu Zata
From what I've heard this one just isn't up to spec for what they are charging for it. It just doesn't make sense why it's over $100 let alone $150. Revo S is a better reel and it costs close to $100.- New spinnerbait
Wow that looks great!- Other Species Latest Catch Pics Thread
Terrible photo, but here is one from me and my wife's trip out to Montana/Wyoming. My first Cutthroat trout - caught this one on the fly rod, took a good hour and 30 minutes to get one out of the gross ventre river. Hit a small brown dry fly.- Favorite hot sauce...
Frank's is no 1 Tabasco is good when you want more heat Cholula has a home in my pantry as well I've tried some jalapeno hot sauces that are really good but haven't found a brand that I can consistently get in stores. While we are on the topic, if anyone has a recommendation for a jalapeno sauce, I'd love to hear it.- Anyone use Yahoo Mobile?
I've never heard of Yahoo's phone plan, but I just recently switched to MINT mobile. Which appears similar to the Yahoo plan except Mint goes off of T-Mobile service. I am coming from a T mobile prepaid plan that was $30 a month for unlimited text, x number of talk minutes ( can't remember), and """unlimited""" ( 5 gigs of high-speed, unlimited after, and sometimes the slowed down data wasn't good enough to do much of anything). Mint, which is also prepaid has unlimited talk and text and 12 gigs of data for $25. They have the same plan for $20 except 8 gigs high-speed data which was tempting as well. So now I'm saving $5 a month and have more talk and over twice as much data. I've been with Mint for 2 months now and I would say the service quality has been the same as before. I think the price difference was worth making the carrier switch - and for anyone looking to save money on the phone bill, I would recommend Mint, ( or switching to prepaid as these are usually cheaper). I personally don't see a reason to have to shy away from the smaller carriers unless you travel often or just absolutely need top service coverage. IMO these smaller subcontractor carriers offer 95% the same service for %50 the price (sometimes even less!). If the Yahoo plan appeals for you I say go for it.- Help finding this lure
Yep that's the bandit flat Maxx deep. I had a shallow version a while ago, never owned the deep model though. Looks like they still make them, they are available at TW.- Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)

I'm in again! Always fun! Love seeing the loot thread also!- Bait Finesse System (BFS) For Trout
I love BFS, and I love trout fishing with BFS. My current setup is a Daiwa T3 1016 with a custom spool. Used to have a different cheap reel, but I upgraded. The rod is a 6' fast action light powered rod that I built myself. Here are some photos of the setup and some fish. The current combo is at the the top of the first picture, the T3 with blue accents - it can cast the snap-bean crankbait consistently without backlash.- Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Those look nice! How do you like them? I've had my eye on them too ?- Looking for a lure
Was it a weedless frog style lure? If so this came to me my mind. https://www.flipinthebird.com/- Intex Excursion Pro Kayak - any feedbacks?
Personally I couldn't own an inflatable kayak. I couldn't tell you how many times I've set the hook on a fish and have had the bait come rocketing back at me. Also have to think about when you have a fish at the side of the boat how easy it is for them to come unpinned and how easy it would be for any hook to puncture at that close of a distance. I also don't want to think about getting a hole in the boat while in the middle of the lake or anywhere not next to shore - I imagine that could get dangerous quickly. I'm not bashing inflatable kayaks or anything but they just aren't for me. I don't want to have to fish cautiously. Just the constant worry would take some of the fun away from me. If you have the space, and the means to transport a regular kayak - I do believe there are good budget options available. Lifetime tamarack is what I own and I got a deal on mine for $180 and I see them at Walmart for under $300 all the time. At that price it's a great boat. I've heard good things about pelicans too - if I were in your shoes, I'd look for a fishing sit on top kayak by one of those two companies. Stay away from sun dolphins. - wisconsin heat
