  1. That is from film by Glenn Lau called Big Mouth. The fisherman is Homer Circle. That DVD is worth watching, it will give some idea's. If you noticed how fast that Bass spit that crankbait out. Homer did not even know he had a hit. It just shows that you need a good sensitive rod for throwing crankbaits also.
  2. Make sure the line is not over top of each other as will cut into itself & break.
  3. I have several. They are the same reel as the Shimano Calais. It depends on which model you are looking at to give you a weight. They are all under 9.5 oz. These are top of the line reels, I am very pleased with mine, they are very smooth. Between the Antares & Calais I have over 20 reels. I feel that you can not go wrong by owning one.
  4. Thursday I noticed my trolling motor(Minn Kota 101) was not running right at high speed so I put a load test on the batteries when I got back to the landing. 1 was bad & the other 2 were weak, They had lasted 4 years 5 months. Yesterday I installed 3 new Interstate SRM-27 batteries. The same as I removed. That is a good lead acid battery.
  5. Shimano Calais or the Calais DC

  11. I started buying Shimano Reels in the middle 70's with the purchase of 6 Bantam Magnumlite Plus 2001. I now have 76 shimano reels & will add a couple of these at the 8.5:1 gear ratio. When does it stop?
  12. This: Ranger Z-21/250 Yahama
  13. I like high speed when worm fishing, get them out of the cover quickly. So all of my worm fishing is done with a M/H rod & a Shimano 7.1.1 reel. I can't wait to see what the Shimano Metanium 2013 XG 8.0:1 is going to be like. Being left-handed I find that the Japanese tend to make there reels for both left & right handed people.
  14. Yes it been tough. Last week-end I was on Santee-Cooper fighting the ice. Ooops that was the cubes from my tea.
  15. I flush mounted my unit to the plate but if yours don't fit I would bring the cables out thru the metal plate. Wrap electrical tape around the cables come thru the hole. the clam shell will hide that.
  16. I either cast the spinnerbait again or cast a weightless senko type bait.
