Hooligan I must disagree with you about a Ranger. I have only owned Ranger Bass Boats. I bought my 1st in 1974, it was a DTR-10 & new from a dealer. I have owned 4 more since then, all of them new except this last one which was a dealer demo. I was the 1st. owner so I got all the warranties, plus one heck of a deal. I did not trade any of my boats in & the 1st.two I sold for more then I paid for them. The 2nd two I came within 3K & 5K of what I paid. I tend to keep my boats a good while & have found If you keep it up a Ranger will hold it's value. Robert I am sorry I can not help you with the Sterling For I have not seen one. I have a friend that told me they don't make but a dozen or so a year but I don't know if that is a fact. I have found Ranger to be a excellent boat, & I feel if I get caught in a storm it will get me to a safe spot. I am now in a 2008 Z-21 with an 250 HPDI on it. There is a picture of it on show your ride I think page 16 I think. One other thing Ranger service is 2nd to none. I was having a real hard time with my electronics on one of my boats, I kept getting the run around so I sent Ranger a blistering e-mail about what equipment they put on there boat. Randy Hopper the president of Ranger Boats called me on a Sunday afternoon. After he told me who he was he said he did not think I should wait until Monday. We talked for about 30 min or more. He told me that he was going to handle my problem himself. At 9 pm that evening I got a phone call from the VP of the electronics company who spoke with me for about 15 min. He took my info & told me I would be receiving 2 upgraded units in a few days. On Monday I got a call from the electronics shipping dept. giving a choice of units & that they would be shipped overnight & to put my 2 units in the box & postage paid sticker on it & send it. I also got a Ranger leather jacket from Ranger Boats. On this boat I had a problem with a rod box lock & my dealer had gone out of business So I called Ranger for help. The nearest Ranger dealer was over 100 miles away. They sent a lock & the special tool to a Triton Dealer 15 miles away & they fixed it. You can't top that & I'll never have anything but a Ranger..

I am left-handed but when I played baseball I batted right-handed threw left handed, basketball shot left handed except for the 2 handed set shot. When I fish I palm my reel & crank with my left hand, cast right handed with my 5 1/2 & 6' rods & 2 hands with my 6 1/2 thru 7 1/2' rods. I flip & pitch with my right hand, I set the hook with both hands as they are both right there.

Either the 51E or the 201E will work just fine. I think the 200 series holds a little more line.

HappyHappa, that was a good read, but the way I see it is they are not married & she on him about his money. What happens if they get married & it becomes shared money? He will be toast. Me I am out of there before it gets expensive later.

Depending where I am fishing is which rod I choose. If I am back in the cypress trees I'll use a 5 1/2' to 6' rod to roll cast a spinnerbait. I do have rods from 5 1/2 to 7' that I use for use for them as conditions call for. They are all custom built on Shikari blanks. If I was going to choose one I would look at what body of water I fish most, consider what type of cover you fish most & then make my choice of rod length. If I had to do that I would probley go for 6 1/2'. It would give me a shot at pretty much everything.

I am with Raul on this I have 2 & use them for slow rolling big spinnerbaits. Both of them are super tuned & I can cast a crankbait a country mile, so I pretty much use them on all crankbaits when the water temp is 50 & below.

Wayne, you know one of the guys with me at BPS last week said the same thing. If fact he joked about Hummingbird giving the sales people in electronics a better deal than Lowrance. The 4 of us got a laugh out of it. The one thing I do know for sure is that Lowrance needs to make major improvements to it's customer service dept.

I have been in 2 different BPS stores in the last 6 weeks. I am thinking of upgrading & in both stores they recommended the Hummingbird units saying that the Lowrance customer service is terrible, which I knew 1st hand already as I have tried to deal with it. The last time Lowrance upgraded there tech support stopped on the previous units. I am leaning toward a 998 SI combo for the front & a 1198 SI combo for the console.

Yesterday 4 of us drove up to BPS in M/B. So with all this chatter about Rage Tail I picked up 3 packs of craws. The colors are Summer Craw, Bama Craw,& Dirt Craw. The jigs I ordered from Mike are on the way & without having them I hope these colors work with them if not it's a Texas rig for them.

If it's so good why doesn't every pro have one on his boat?

I have decided to try my hand at jig fishing so I ordered 18 wire tied 1/2oz brush image jigs from Mike. There are many stump fields on Santee so maybe I'll catch a few. Mike if the head color & skirt color are out there please let me know as I had a hard time with that. Thanks SC Bassin

Funny this came up as I counted my reels yesterday & I have 83 with most of them being Shimanos. That is total reels now I guess I had better count my rods. My guess is that I will end up with 10 to 15 more reels than rods. I usually carry 30 to 35 rigs in the boat so I guess you could call the rest spares.

Crankster: At Dicks, they were in the case & had no box or parts. They work just fine. A good black Friday deal.
