Getting Started With Crankbaits
I like Bandit crankbaits. Almost all of my shallow to medium running cranks are bandits. I also like the Rapala DT-6 in black and silver. Also, I would recommend some rattle traps, I like 1/2oz chrome with black or blue backs.

Line for jigs
I have 17# Bekley 100% fluoro on my worm/jig rod. I have also used 17# gamma copoly in the past. I have also used braid (powerpro and suffix) but it's not my favorite type of line.

Super light rod suggestions (baitcasting)
you could look at a g-blanks. I don't have one but I have heard good things, and they are supposed to be really light. I think they are in the $120 range.

Question Comparing FLW Tour/Series vs. BASS Opens/Elites....
I beleive that part of the criteria FLW uses to select its lakes is proximity to an arena type facility. I think that for the Tour series they only fish lakes that have arenas nearby that can house the weigh-ins. I think this is the reason they stopped fishing KY lake on the Tour even though FLW's HQ is just down the road.

RIP, George!!
I really liked his comedy, plus in one of his books he had a great quote about my Oakland Raiders. I don't remeber what it was exactly but even if I did it couldn't be repeated here. R.I.P, George.

I think I need new equipment
I would get a Berkley lightning rod, and if you want a new reel pick up one of the Abu Garcia cardinals at wal mart for 30-40 dollars. My friend has this combination for an UL set up and it is pretty nice.

Braid leader
If you have a spare spool for your spinning reel just leave one spooled with the 10# mono and spool the other with braid. I personally use 30# suffic on my stradic 2500, and have the other spool filled with 10# Gamma co-poly.

Your Go To Lure
This year it's been a 1/2oz. Rattletrap chrome w/ blue back.

Need a backpack!
I have one of the "swiss" back packs. I can't think of the name of the company for the life of me though. I have cariried it for four years and it is still going strong. I only paid thirty or fouty dollars for it. I occasionally carry my laptop in there with no problems. My one recomendation is that if you decide to carry a laptop in your bag that isn't designed for laptops I would buy one of those neoprene laptop sleeves.

How many fishing rods do you have?
I have 11, only three of which see regular use.

UL REELS
I haven't fished a pfleuger before but I have fished an abu and I really liked it. The one I had was small UL reel, I think it was called a Cardinal but I can't remember the number. I bought it at wal mart for about $30 three or four years ago.

MN Bassers
If I knew where those lakes were I would be there this weekend. I have been up here for about a month and gone fishing once but with no luck. Still learning the area and have yet to find a place to fish I don't have to pay to get into. BTW, good luck on your trip.

Gamma Copolymer
I LOVE this line. Last summer it was the only one on my bass rigs. I tried other lines and yo-zuri was my second choice. It is pricey though so I haven't bought any more, but I haven't really needed to.

Give Up One?
I would give up hunting. I don't go that often, and I am just as happy going and target shooting or shooting skeet as i am hunting. Fishing is my main hobby now, it took over playing football when i graduated high school.

Camping
I love camping in a tent. I am lucky enough to live near Land Between the Lakes which offers multiple camp grounds as well as the opportunity for backwoods camping. Nothing like loading up the trucks, gettin some friends together and driving out to the woods and setting up camp with 50 feet of KY or Barkley lake and not having anyone with a mile or so.

Kentucky Fishin!!
I had to go with Barkley. I had better luck there, and unless the water is high there is not as much pleasure traffic as KY (if they know what's good for them). I use to drive of KY lake to go fish on Barkley. I have also fished Cumerland, Malone (another good lake), and really want to fish Cave Run in the near future.

In regards to KY Lake fishing
I am by no means an authority on the lake and I have been out of town for a month or so, but you're best bet would probably be deep crankbaits (DD22,etc), C-Rig & T-rig plastics, jigs, or spinnerbaits on the ledges. I beleive that is what won the tournaments last week. The bays may offer some topwater or flippin/pitchin opportunites as well. You will probably get some better information, but this is a start . Where are you staying? Hope you have a good trip.

Crankbait Reel?
I have both the Curado 200 DPV and the Calcutta 100B and like both reels. The curado is kind of large though compared to most other LP reels. The calcutta is one of my favorite reels, and it was the first quality baitcaster i bought. I use my curado 100 more than i do the 200 because most of my cranking is witch shallow running baits, but when I go deep I usually use the 200. You probably won't be dissapointed either way, it's just whichever one you like the feel of.

multi-tool sheaths
Thanks for the replies, I knew I could count on you guys.

multi-tool sheaths
I have a Gerber fisherman multi-tool that I would like to purchase a new sheath for. The nylon one that came with it has a hole worn in it from the point of the pliers rubbing it. I am open to material but would prefer one that had a belt clip on it. Just as a reference the gerber fisherman is about two inches longer than my Leather Wave. Any suggestions?

Tiger Woods
I don't watch golf, except for the clips on sportscenter, nor I have ever played it, but i have to respect a guy that can be as dominant at what he does as Tiger has been.

Mounting A Fishfinder on a John Boat
My buddy mounted his transducer the way jigman suggested, and it worked out well. That was the same way my dad did it back in the day when he had a boat.
