  1. Who the hell cares what anyone thinks?? Only the insecure and jealous put down, berate and insult others. I believe that people who are the target of others, are because they are what the other could only dream about being and they know it. Don’t let it effect you, if you do they win Mike
  2. Yes, Unless I know I’ll be there more than once in the year, or it’s not late in any given year, then I’ll get a 3 or 7 day depending on what they allow and how many days the tournament is. Mike
  3. Shooter is more abrasion resistant. It’s the better choice for fishing in and around wood, rock and shell. Consequently Sniper is a little softer and more manageable and has a little less memory, which still isn’t as much as other premium flouro lines. To me Shooter has just a tad more sensitivity in the higher test pound range Mike
  4. Yep, Tatsu is considered the best On the other hand, Sunline Sniper and Shooter are a close 2nd. Considering all measurables they never made me regret using it and changing to anything else. Mike

Yes you did! I was kinda fun, interesting and nostalgic hearing about places from you and others that I know and places I forgot all about. (see other posts) As I brought up to you before being born and raised in Little Sicily, the inner city was my security. I wouldn’t go nowhere near Englewood now. When we moved to West Lawn we were 2 blocks from Marquette Park on Whipple St, it felt like being on the moon. The different nationalities, customs…everything changed. Wouldn’t go nowhere near there now either. Everybody moved to the South and NW suburbs and most are still there. Being a 2nd generation Sicilian/American and a first born, I am named after my Great Great Grandfather (spelled Michele in Italian) Since my Dad’s 2 brothers also named thier first born sons Michael, It got so confusing that everyone in my family had a nickname…Tutti, Subby, Mundi, Sally, Mikey etc. Being about 20yrs older than you, my generation never tolerated being labeled. We just didn’t. I know, I know it’s common place nowadays, As my kids and grandkids keep telling me….I get it. My smart a…s remark was just a reaction. Point is, I know exactly what and where you speak of. If there ever came a time where we could sit together and share memories it would probably take all night. Peace Brother Mike
  7. That’s why I still use it Mike
  8. Mrs Mike had a relapse Monday. I couldn’t take the chance leaving her as the kids are all spread out this weekend. Luckily an alternate was ready to go. This “long hauler” stuff is no joke. Mike

I did years ago and it’s the first rig I taught the kids. Honestly, I never think about it anymore. Mike
  10. I’m still using original 4 carrier Power Pro. There are probably better lines like @MN Fisher just posted. I certainly wouldn’t doubt the man’s recommendation. I just tend to stay with what I know and have confidence it. Mike

Really?? Dat der is a fightin word where I come from pal Arrivederci Mike
  12. Ark Lancer Pro 7’2” MH/R 99.00 not on sale. Works great fir what you want and plenty of backbone. I use The 7’ fast action for spinner baits but that’s my preference Mike
  13. No Sir I don’t It’s another reason I use the Scum line exclusively, it’s just not necessary. When I used most others I would trim one end to get them to walk but it’s not needed with them, even to walk in place which is my favorite retrieve. I don’t touch the hooks either. I might lightly touch ‘em up once in a great while but only because I use them so often. As far bending the hooks out..regardless of the model line, the body is so soft that’s not necessary either. Certainly is “combat fishing” I equate it to hand to hand combat of a flipping bite. A frog is both a “sight and feel” type bait. If there’s one in a pad field the lob and kill method will call then in. Purposely casting on a pad, letting it sit a few seconds, pull off, sit and walk to the next is my preferred method. Mike
  14. Pretty much text book frog fishing right there folks!! People who don’t do it much underestimate that high lob, loud plop and killing it. Been using the original small one fir over 10 yrs. Walking that little thing in place in every hole has been my go to fir as long as I can remember. For me, No other frog gets bit more consistency with less misses than the Scum Mike
  15. Always start with a frog… Kaden 715C BPS Pro Qualifier 50# Power Pro Original Scum Frog or Trophy Series Mike
  16. As mostly a tournament co angler I run into this all the time. He’s from the… “cover as much water as I can” club. Since I’m also a so called “power fisherman” It’s normally not a major problem but depending on how he positions the boat it can be. In your case, since you’re obviously friends and plan on spending more time on the water with each other, I’d talk to him about alternating between power and finesse outings. I’m sure he knows by now you prefer to fish slower, so it wouldn’t hurt to bring it up. He may surprise you. Mike
  17. I guess you could if you really wanted to, but why would you want to?? Mike
  18. There are full time guides on Every major body of water in the state. From Seminole and St Johns River in the north. Kissimmee and Harris Chains, Rodman, Sick Marsh, Headwaters in the middle, and of course Okeechobee and Everglades farther south. Pick your poison. When you finalize a timeline and a general area where you want to go, ask again. Mike
  19. The longest I traveled in 1 day was about 4 hrs for a tournament. Leave about 2:00, at the ramp at 6:30, fish all day, turn around, come home and pass out! ? It’s not bad if you plan it right. The longest overnight was about 8 to Seminole, 10 to Hartwell and 12 to the Tennessee River for others. Mike
  20. I guess losing out on the Prima Donna ended up pretty good for them anyway Mike

I use a keel weighted Gambler Duz It. You can get a silver or gold colored blade that you can move on the shaft depending on how you want it to fall. I use these mostly on paddle tail swim baits. Mike
  22. Usually 16# Sniper Mike
  23. No doubt. See them all the time when shopping. Aesthetically pleasing is just not a consideration if I buy it or not. Mike
