  1. Thanks Pal! Mike
  2. I couldn’t care less. My fishing gear is bought to compliment what I need it to do, not that if it will look pretty in my hands. Mike
  3. Thanks Mike
  4. Great Job!! My grandson moved to the Lake Anna area recently and I can’t wait to check that place out!! I may ask a few basic questions about it in the coming months as I know nothing about it. ? Mike
  5. When I get tired of shaving, I grow it When I get tired of trimming it, I shave it Mike
  6. No The one I got is the 7’2” Lancer Pro reg but I like it for chatters also. Trying to decide between the Tharp or the Essence for a new punch rod. Mike
  7. You’re gonna like it A shop had a buy 1 get 1 free sale going on for them and got the MH/F and a MH/Reg. You guys and @T-Billy are killing me! ? Mike
  8. If your Essence is a casting, can I ask your opinion of it? Thanks Mike
  9. There are other considerations that I put more thought into than water temp. However, in areas of the country with a wider temperature range and more varied natural habitat, I can see where it would be something to at least think about. Mike
  10. I wish I would have known that! ? Mike
  11. Ditto Mike
  12. I picked up 2 Lancer Pro’s and very impressed for a lower cost rod. A few Tharp series ones are in my future. Mike
  13. The vast majority of mine are either June Bug or Red Shad, regardless of the shape and size. Mike
  14. I’ve been using a nail weight more and more lately. Historically I don’t throw a lot of stand alone t-rigged stick baits. But when I do by adding a nail to the tail and throwing it on the outside of a grass or reed line, the effect it gives by gliding underneath a few feet instead of falling straight has been particularly effective. Mike
  15. If you decide on a XH and depending on the action of it compared to what you’re accustomed to, you may have to tweak the timing of your set a little. Point is, not all things are equal. A heavy powered rod should be sufficient for all frog water, the action would be the deciding factor for me. Mike
  16. T Rig I can’t stand that slow, light line, finessey stuff. Mike
  17. Whopper Plopper Buzz bait I always tend to grab a walking bait first. Mike
  18. Looks Great! Gonna forward this to Mrs Mike!! ? Mike
  19. Yes you were and yes you do! By the way, he was exactly right Mike
  20. I can’t confirm one way or the other but I would take the word of the man who builds them. Mike
  21. At an BASS Elite event I was a Marshal at last year, my “extremely well known” pro and I had a conversation about this very thing. He told me even after over 20 years on tour he still struggles being proficient and efficient at the same time. The conversation started because our camera man made an innocent statement that he wished he could afford the quality of the equipment he had. He said the quality didn’t matter that much, but the ability to “keep his line wet” did. That stuck with me. As mostly a tournament co angler I always bring 6 combos, each have different actions and power ratings. 2 with braid and 4 with flouro. For me to reach the point of being both efficient and proficient at the same time I need that many while fishing tournaments, sometimes more but available space limits that. All other times depending on where and how I plan to fish 2 usually is enough. Mike
  22. Crazy as it sounds living in Florida, a prop bait for me had the longest leaning curve of anything I’ve used. I went through 3 different brands until I finally got them to run true and become somewhat proficient at. I changed lines, hooks, rod actions, reversed prop angles anything I could think of until I realized it wasn’t the bait itself, It was all me. Mike
  23. Curious..Which one did you get? Mike
  24. Thanks, but You got me once already!! ? Mike
