  1. I drag mine, more like a regular football jig. The constant retrieve thing has never gotten a single strike for me, and it's one of my favorite ways to rig a plastic so I've tried. A Rage Menace or Bug are both really good. The Berkley Pitboss is another standard for me. One of the perks of pouring my own is I can mess with head/hook matchups. One I like a lot is an 1/8oz head with a 7/0 monster worm hook. I rig mag straight tail worms like a YUM Mightee worm or Strike King Bull Worm (the 11" version), or a 7" stick worm, and sling that around. It doesn't take much addition weight on those already heavy worms, so the small weight just kind of glides them down to the bottom, if they make it there ?
  2. Seems like folks are always surprised when a bullfrog eats their hollow body frog. If you've been around them much though, you know they're one of the most aggressive things around the pond pound for pound, this coot sure knows that now.
  3. I know there's a lot of them over there now, but you look at the sponsor list and notice a few new ones?
  4. ? Cover your eyes if you're weak to the ways of the bait monkey! Going to be a lot more caught on this thing in the near future. https://stcroixrods.com/pages/victory?utm_source=BassResource&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=&utm_content=banner&utm_campaign=VictoryLaunch
  5. We got highs close to 70 and lows in the 50's coming this week, bring it on!
  6. Well this was fun and all but it's spiraling downhill fast. If you want to watch the videos, they're not hard to find. LOCKDOWN!!
  7. Tatsu is the easy answer to that question, especially if you're looking to stick with Seaguar.
  8. I fished a SV Tatula on an Ethos Micro I paid $27 for a majority of 2019 and caught a lot of fish with it. Price doesn't matter, function is what I'm after.
  9. NDYakAngler (the Bob Ross of kayak fishing) Greg Blanchard Kayak Catfish Kristine Fischer I'm trying to figure out how to film from my kayak better. Still a work in progress from the new ride.
  10. Got 2 packages today. My Shellcracker FINALLY showed up after being lost in Narnia for a week. Then I got these tiny little morsels. I use to fish the tiniest sized Hula Popper a lot when I was a kid and caught everything with them, but casting them was awful since they cast like a dead leaf. These are 1/10oz and should cast nicely on light spinning gear.
  11. Take your picture, and then remove ALL of the fishing items in it. That's what they look like here. I can drive 30 minutes to one with fishing gear, but I can drive 15 minutes to BPS, Academy, or Scheel's instead.
  12. Sammy still catches fish, but they never were a really impressive bait for me.
  13. I buy tabs and wire tie them on.
  14. Not every lake is built the same. I've seen lakes destroyed here by pressure. They're resilient, but can only endure so much, especially when the "hero shot" gang is hauling the big ones around all day just to take a picture for Instaface. Falcon crashed hard after the record breaking Bassmaster tournament and hasn't recovered yet, over a decade later.
  15. I saw pictures from the parking lot there, RIP to that lake. I guess enjoy it while it last.
  16. I use the new version of this rod, with a Daiwa 3000 Elimnator and 8lb AbrasX.
  17. I heat mine over a heat gun, just like a jighead. Difference is, you have to be really careful not to overheat them because you don't want to get too heavy of a coat on them. That's why I use the gun, it's way harder to put too much paint on them with it versus dipping them. If you do dip them, I clamp forceps over the hole in the blade, heat for 4 seconds, and a really quick swish through the powder.
  18. One of my most popular colors I make is basically chartreuse and white and it catches tons of fish in all conditions.
  19. I've thrown it quite a bit and haven't caught a DD bass with it yet ?‍♂️ Of course it would help if there was any DD bass where I've thrown it. It's not a magic bullet at all, but it does catch big fish. You have to be where they are and the new sonars makes that way easier.
  20. Depending on how far back you bend the blade, it will effect how high the bait will ride but it will also effect how hard the blade vibrates. There is a happy medium IMO. I do some 3/4 and even 1oz bladed jigs, but I put a magnum blade on them so they don't run a lot deeper, they just have a tremendous amount of vibration and a much larger profile. The could be run 10' deep or more easily with a standard blade on them.
  21. Popping Pad Crasher and Fish Lab Rattle Toad. Excited for the popping version of the Rattle Toad to come out soon!
  22. I like using live craws better. Sometimes small sunfish or bluegill. I can't remember the last time I bought minnows.
  23. Yo-Zuri 3DB for a single prop. No other bait sounds like it and the fish just eat it up. Berkley Spin Rocket for a double prop. The blades spin a little easier than a Devil's Horse IMO.
  24. Can't wait for open water again so I can get away from the idiots I was dealing with this weekend. Fog I couldn't see 50 yards into but yet I watched boat after boat hammer down straight into it. They must have that high tech GPS that marks where all the boats are on the lake too ?‍♂️ I was idling across and met a boat that was drifting for blue cats along the channel. Had I been one of those other guys, we'd have all been in trouble. Caught a few fish and called it a day, never seen so many boats on the lake before.
