  1. 2 trips in a row from the bank of the little city lake. The dinks were hungry too.
  2. Agreed. Nobody wants to see my ugly mug in the picture. The purpose of looking at a fish picture is to see a fish. I don't care what kind of fish it is, if it can be held out to the camera, that's how I feel the picture should be. Not trying to make them look bigger, I weigh them so I know how big they actually are, just want everyone to be able to enjoy all the details the same way I do when I catch them.
  3. It's a grass carp actually, caught from a tiny pond in Kansas on an S waver. Watched it shoot off the bottom and T-bone the thing, looked like a huge pike the way it attacked the bait. If my buddy hadn't been standing next to me watching it happen I would have thought I was losing my mind. State record is 77 3/4 pounds for grass carp in Kansas.
  4. My best punch skirt color has been solid black with a junebug, black and blue, or sapphire blue plastic. If I was going to make a bluegill colored one, I'd make it the same color as one of my bluegill colored bladed jigs.
  5. I use micro guides and leaders on my spinning rods often, no issues, just tie a good knot and you're good.
  6. I'd guess top one. Bottom fish is much closer to the camera and the angle makes the fisherman look small/fish look large. Judging off the size of his hands compared to the fish though, the top fish looks larger to me. Makes it tougher with 2 different people and not knowing if they're average size adults or if one is much larger or smaller than the other.
  7. I have a pack but I picked them up this winter and haven't fished them yet. They're pretty small, I'd say 3" is pretty accurate. I think they're going to be awesome pitching around docks.
  8. They actually both weighed about 70 pounds at the time. She's not a fan of big fish like that coming in the boat though.
  9. Air mattress for me. Camping is no fun when I can't walk the next morning. I'd go with cot of your 2 options but I usually spend all night tossing and turning on a cot.
  10. Saving soon to be born deer fawns, one coyote at a time.

    Welcome! Great picture!
  12. Just put a new tip on it and fish it. Very easy to do and cost less than $10. Lots of Youtube videos on how to do it.
  13. I have one of the blue Megajaws on my jerkbait rod. It's been a very nice reel so far. It's very smooth and cast great. My buddy that I was fishing with Thursday commented about how far I could cast my jerkbait and I think it really hurt his feelings when I told him it was a KK reel that was outcasting his Tatula. I've got a red Royal Legend Elite I use for ploppers and spooks too that's been just as nice and a little smaller than the Megajaws.
  14. No way, I couldn't imagine fishing a lot of situations without braid. Wind knots suck, but so does busting off a big one in the grass because you didn't have braid.
  15. I set mine basically to just before the failure point of my line. I usually free spool my reel while fighting a fish instead of using the drag but in case of a situation where I can't get the spool released, I want the drag to slip.
  16. From what experience I have with their rods that I fished with, I think you can do a lot better for the price.
  17. I'm in Kansas and have caught them on 9" swimbaits that were barely bigger than the bait. I've had 4 pound fish choke an 8" Hudd. Stick to it and you'll have no problem catching fish. IMO, 7-8 inches is the sweet spot for swimbaits in the midwest for largemouth, especially if you have gizzard shad.
  18. Probably my best quality day I've ever had. Only found 2 other baits not in the picture. The wart is a suspending pre-rap.
  19. This is the same thing I use in my Pro XS, and my almost 40 year old 15hp Johnson tiller on my johnboat. I use Ethanol free gas 100% of the time but never hurts to be over cautious.
  20. Muddy <1' Stained 1-5' Clear>5'
  21. I like it when it's working, but it can be really frustrating. I don't think it's the kind of fishing that's the issue you're having, it's the kind of people you're dealing with.
