  1. Welcome and thank you for your service!
  2. Nice hybrid gill that got a little too aggressive following my jerkbait.
  3. I use braid for most of my topwaters except buzzbaits and baits with a front prop. I use 20 or 50lb braid depending on the size plopper I'm using.
  4. I seem to catch more numbers of smallmouth on a tube, but bigger ones on a jig. I like a 1/2oz football jig for them if I can get away with it.

It doesn't matter to me how everyone wants to do it. Either send paypal/return shipping label beforehand, or I can ship and let each person know individually how much it cost to ship and they can pay me back for shipping cost. I guess if you're not on the list on the previous page and are participating, let me know. I'll send the shipping address for everyone else to send their baits to via PM.
  6. I've got a picture of my dad's finger with a Vision 110 hook buried under his fingernail I could add to the thread
  7. Jerkbait time is about here! Couldn't fight the itch to feed my addition any longer. Jackall Rerange 130, Duo 110, and Duo Rozante 77 in route.
  8. Finn's first time in a swing last night.
  9. Braid cast the furthest without question. IMO, mono is the "best" casting overall as far as handling and casting distance in combination (in bass fishing sizes anyways).
  10. I've got a couple buddies from the Wichita area, sounds like none of them are real high on any of the little lakes in or near town. I'm sure they all get a ton of pressure.
  11. Agreed and it's not even close. Not a big fan of the swimbaits, but there's nothing wrong with them, just not anything special. All the rest of their baits are solid though.
  12. I like the H2O Slush Minnow and used to fish a Devil's Horse pretty often. The new Lane Changer from R2S is on my radar but haven't bought one yet. The Yo-Zuri 3DB Prop is a great bait with a very unique sound that the fish seem to love/hate. I don't consider the Whopper Plopper type baits a prop bait because I don't fish them like a prop bait.
  13. Razor sharp River2Sea trebles according to TW description of them. I swap them for EWG trebles and seem to lose far fewer fish. I normally don't like EWG trebles for topwater, but since I set the hook by reeling into them with a Plopper, the EWG trebles work great.
  14. I bought one of the frogs and the prop shads. The shad makes a very small commotion, almost hard to tell it's doing anything. The frog makes a much greater disturbance and tracks well with the double spinning props. Looking forward to giving them both a try when it warms up enough to actually catch something on them.
  15. I use the bright pink KastKing super power braid. Yellow is harder for me to see than the pink for some reason.
  16. 2-2.5 pounds of spotted bass Spots feel different, at least ours do. Their scales feel rough instead of smooth like a smallmouth or largemouth. Easiest way to tell without checking the jawline.
  17. This is one of the blanks that he painted for me. You can get them from lots of custom painters out there.
  18. Frogs croaking are always my first sign that spring is actually getting close. Never understood the robin thing. They must never leave here because I see more of them during the winter hopping around on the snow than I do during the summer.
  19. I try to keep day trips close to a hour or less. Lots of lakes within that drive for me but none that I would really consider close. The closest lake with a boat ramp is about a 15 minute drive. A couple smaller ones closer that I can kayak or bank fish.
  20. The size structure of the fish in each of your ponds could vary wildly even though they're in close proximity to each other. Lots of things will factor into how large a fish can get in a body of water. Spots and largemouth do interbreed, but I don't believe they do in every case that the 2 are present in a body of water.
