  1. I have some of the "Meat", jig trailers. Not as good as pork but they do work.
  2. No reason you can't do it if you want to. I wouldn't suggest it around rocks or zebra/quagga mussels, but that still doesn't mean you can't if you want to.
  3. Don't need anything real special to fish a jerkbait but if you really just want to blow some money on a reel to fish one, the Aldebaran 50 would be a great way to do it. If you can find one, a Curado 50E does it well and I'm sure a Chronarch 50 would as well.
  4. You can get the Shimano Alderbaran for right around $300 all day on the Bay.
  5. Still can't catch fish on a dropshot. I go to that party, say "This is stupid, I'm going home", every time.
  6. 15lb Big Game, unless you're around grass, then I'd go with 40-50lb braid.
  7. Let me put a 3oz bank sinker on one of my surf rods I use for blue cats on the river if you want to see maximum casting distance. Rarely do I have a need to cast more than 20 yards.
  8. Welcome!
  9. Welcome!
  10. I'm using them in rocks and sand, little bit or wood.
  11. These are the Pro Series, which come with a heavier hook than the standard Slider heads.
  12. Not a T-rig exactly, but I do well dragging a beaver on a swinging football head during the winter. I've also done well dragging a tube on a T-rig in cold water.
  13. Agreed. I've owned 1 4x2 truck, never again.
  14. I looked, and now I understand.
  15. Dropped $.10 to $1.59 here yesterday. I might go drive around on my days off this week just because I can afford it
  16. I prefer a light rod instead of UL with 4 or 6 pound mono. Most UL are so whippy they won't set a hook well, even on a crappie.
  17. Ocean Kayak Big Game Prowler II SOT. Fished out of a sit-in once, that was enough (or too many), times to know I wanted a SOT.
  18. I've always been a black or nothing kind of guy with the frogs. This past year though, I watched way too many fish eat the Cricket Frog from Booyah to not give it a try. Ended up having my best day ever on the local lake, mostly with that Booyah Popping Pad Crasher.
  19. Pro Slider head is a killer head for the Kut tails.
  20. This guy is going to disagree with you on that I'm guessing. http://www.flwfishing.com/news/2016-01-19-texas-angler-boats-state-record-spotted-bass
  21. Turn a few flat rocks over in the shallows, you should find out pretty quickly. Walking a shoreline at night with a flashlight is another good way.
