  1. Happy birthday Jeff!
  2. When one of the stores here opened they had 23 packs of Rage for $.99. I know because I have all 23 of them hanging on the pegboard in my garage
  3. Spring time, once the water gets into the mid 50's.
  4. I remember reading about a guy who used to swear by beetle spins and road runners for river smallies right after ice out. No rivers with bass in there around here but might be worth a try.
  5. The issue I have with the non vaccinated kids is that they can be around infants that are too young to get vaccinated for certain things yet. My wife and I have been very concerned about the measles cases that keep popping up with our son just now getting to the age where he can get his first shot to prevent it.

    Welcome!
  7. Curt said Grand first then Beaver if we can stay in Eureka Springs, which is fine with me. Sizzle still hasn't voted. Those 2 are kind of the deciding votes right now.
  8. Good deal man! Hopefully you can finally make it to one of the 2 day get togethers. So far we're looking like this. Jared, Chris T, Coty-Grand Clayton, Peter, Jon, Adam, Curt, Ryan-Beaver Sizzle-A lake Chris S-indifferent Conner, Brian, Drew, Cole-out
  9. Ouch, nothing worst than a jerkbait stuck in your dingy
  10. I've caught a lot of bass on chunks of cutbait while bass fishing for catfish. One of my biggest I've ever caught out of one lake was on a bluegill head I was dragging along a deep weed edge.
  11. Those look great Drew! I've got some more baits if you want more practice
  12. Ha! I have to hold a job to be able to own it!
  13. Nadda. BPS just doesn't excite like it used to. They have to put stuff on pretty serious sales just to get it down to what you can find it at other places for every day. I went in there a few weeks ago to stock up on my favorite jerkbaits before the season gets cranking, $10.29 apiece! Back in the truck and to another small shop where I found them for $7.49, that's a huge mark up.
  14. The LTB dropshot rod has a terrific XF action. It has a soft tip, without being whippy, but plenty of backbone to bury a hook and move a fish.
  15. For poppers my favorite is a 6' 2" M/XF Avid with a Curado 50E and 10lb Big Game. Walking baits I fish on a 6' 8" M/F Ethos/Mettle combo with the same line.
  16. I think 1 and 3 really go hand in hand. If you buy cheap baits that don't work well, it's easy to get discouraged because your success rate is most likely going to be low. My first year of swimbaiting, I fished a 7" Slammer, a 168 S-waver, and a 6" weedless Hudd. Keeping my selection down allowed me to really learn those baits and build confidence in them. Now a swimbait addict with no end in sight.
  17. Ouch, poor little thing. Made me cringe seeing the pictures and knowing about how bad that hurts, I slipped once while working at a deep fryer and dunked my whole hand. Of course the first thing I think is of something like that happening to my little guy too. Keep that cleaned up really good, the chances for infections seem to be so high with bad burns for some reason. Looks like she's taking it well, hope it heals fast so she can get back to playing like normal.
  18. Depends on how many of the lake permits I buy. I usually buy; Missouri Non-resident-$42 Kansas resident fish/trout/3 pole combo-$52 Wabaunsee year boat/fish permit-$82 Jacomo boat permit-$62 KS state park year vehicle pass-$15 Linn County parks year ramp pass-$15 I used to also buy the Wyandotte County year boat/fish/trout permit for $100 but now that it's a 40 minute drive I didn't last year.
