Why Multiple Crankbait Rods?
I have two rods dedicated for moving baits. One is an old maroon BPS Tourney Special 7' mh/f for baits 1/2 ounce and up, and the other is a BPS Bionic Blade 6'6" m/m for lighter baits from 1/4 ounce up to 1/2 ounce.

History Lesson
For me history is more about learning what happens to a lake throughout the year. In one lake I fish I know the water will be muddy from after ice out until the grass starts to grow around mid May. I also know that from roughly mid May until around the middle of June the bite is going to slack off, most likely from the spawn. After say the first of July you will be able to catch bass in, and around, the grass until that grass starts to die off in October. Every year may not be the same, but at least I have a reference to go by.

Anyone Super Type-A Like Me and Keep a Spreadsheet With Types of Lures and Fish Caught?
I’ve been keeping a detailed spreadsheet since 2002. It’s how I started fishing muddy water in spring and fall and grassy water in the summer.

A sports question.
Back in the day where I grew up it meant calling the cops.

Favorite Winter Lures This Year ?
Not sure what is going on this year, but the bite seems off somehow. The bass are still hitting swim jigs, lipless crankbaits, and 4" senkos.

Small Ponds & Cold Water. What baits?
With the cold weather we have been having around here a lot of the surface vegetation has died, or is in the process of dying. I have been fishing weightless senkos, swim jigs, and lipless crankbaits mostly. Once you guesstimate the depth of the vegetation try to keep the bait above it.

Lure pic thread. Lets see something unique
The top bait isn't unique, it's a Big-O, but the paint scheme on it shows that it is one of the first gen models. The dark one was made by my mom's cousin back when he used to make his own baits. I don't think is has ever been in the water.

R u a Tackleaholic?
Most of the purchases I make are to replace baits and equipment. I have a lot hard baits that belonged to my dad that I will probably never fish with, and I've gotten so that I only fish with a few colors instead of the entire rainbow. However, I still go online and check out all of websites I have bookmarked, and I'm always looking at smaller bait and tackle companies.

December: the kiss of death for bass anglers?
Over the years I've only caught a handful of bass in December, but that's more about me not wanting to get out in the cold than the bite.

Medium Casting Rods
I'll take a new rod, or reel, down the the lake at the park with a bag of different baits and start making casts to see how each bait feels on it. There has been a few times when I buy a rod for one bait and end up using it for something else.

Yo Zuri hybrid sensitivity?
I used 15# YZH for jigs, Texas rigs and moving baits for a few years. I could definitely feel the tap, tap, tap of a bite. I switched over to Big Game, and never noticed any difference in the sensitivity.

Tribute To The Bank Fisherman!
That video could have been one of my bank fishing trips. It's not a complete day for me unless I step in a hole, or trip over a branch.

Black&Blue vs Junebug
Sometimes in the spring the bass go nuts for this.

How to kill yourself while wading alone. FACT !!
I have enough problems walking on rip rap. No wading for me.

A change in my approach to bass angling...
Around here a spinning setup with a 3" or 4" bait usually saves the day. Weightless and split shot rigs are my two best presentations.

Tackle bag versatility
I've been carrying one of the old blue BPS 3600 bags. I fill up the 5 boxes with crankbaits, jigs, and tackle. I stuff bags of plastics in the front and side pockets,

Windy Day Jig Fishing
The first thing I would do is look for cover or structure that is causing an eddy in the water. Second thing I would do is drop anchor so I don't have to deal with the wind.

Seems we might have a bit of warmth coming
It’s going to be warm here Thursday and Friday and cold again on Saturday. Typical.

Mitchell 300
I've got the 300 that my dad bought back in '72. It was the first spinning reel he owned.
