  1. One of the worst Saturday mornings I ever had was when one of the blades fell off of my electric razor and went down the drain. This was the bathroom that both of my then teen girls used. It took roughly 20 minutes to get the trap off, emptied, and reconnected. Another 30 minutes to get that little round blade clean.
  2. Jig and craw. I have a 3/8 ounce tied on most of the time. Shallow running crankbait. I like to run just under the surface without a wake. Lipless crankbait. I like a 1/2 ounce, but I will use a 1/4 ounce if I'm fishing from the bank. 6" plastic worm. I may fish this weightless, on a split shot rig, or t-rig depending where I'm fishing. 1/2 ounce chatterbait. Some kind of craw on a t-rig.
  3. Since I got back into fishing I would say each year I catch between 150 and 250 fish with a majority of them being bass. Impossible to say for a lifetime.

Red and orange seem to work around here but I'm not sure if it's the time of year, water clarity, or both that are making the fish bite.
  5. You might look at Bill Lewis Rat-l-traps. I think the 3/4 ounce ones are called Mag-traps. The 1 ounce size are magnum force.
  6. Mo. DNR has waived fishing permits, and trout permits until April 15. Campgrounds, offices, facilities, and lodgings will be closed from March 27 to April 30. The 3 big trout parks will remain open, but the parks will not be stocked. Boat ramps operated by the DNR will remain open.
  7. When I stopped trying to force the bass to hit the bait I was using, and started to let them tell me what they wanted.
  8. Last Thursday it was almost 70 here. Now it's snowing out side. This is nuts.
  9. Got gas on Friday and unleaded was $1.95.
  10. When my flukes get too beat up to stay on the hook, I use them as trailers.
  11. This time of year I always start off fishing with lipless crankbaits, chatterbaits and shallow running crankbaits.
  12. I like the small size Mister Twister sassy shads for a moving bait. For bottom contact I will use a little 3" BPS stik-o on a split shot rig.
  13. I use a little of everything. BPS, SK, Booyah, and War Eagle. Check your local mom and pop bait stores. They may make their own spinnerbaits, or be supplied by someone that makes their own.
  14. What is the matter with people.
  15. I’m considered essential personnel so I have to go in. Of course the place is a ghost town since everyone else is staying home.
  16. I have 3 or 4 of those in the “antique” lure box.
  17. The shooting and archery ranges at the conservation area near me are closed. I haven’t heard anything about the ponds.
  18. I used some when I first started fishing but I never noticed any difference in the bite. I don’t use anything anymore.
  19. Nice smallie and welcome.
  20. I have been keeping a log for each trip for the past 15 or 16 years now. I added a note section because there is always that one item that never quite fits anywhere else.
  21. It depends on how you work it. When the bite is good I work it like a t-rig. When the bite is slow I slow the retrieve way down.
  22. This time of year, I'm much more worried about storms and tornadoes than I am about getting sick.
  23. I like to use the 4", 5", and 6" either weightless or on t-rigs. I like the 3" BPS model for split shot rigs.
