  1. @Fried Lemons, I gave this one a like just for your shirt! Nice bass by the way.
  2. In the summer when I'm fishing ponds, I will target the matted vegetation first.
  3. I think the bass are still spawning here. They seem to be up shallow in the dead lily pads and at the edge of the deep water drop offs.
  4. Crankbait Jig and craw Plastic Worm They are my big three for fishing in pressured water.
  5. Just tell her that it is a TV and it is scripted. Things like that do not happen in real life.
  6. Over the years I have learned that muskie and bass will go after the same baits.
  7. It stinks, but it happens to me a lot fishing around submerged wood, and thick vegetation.
  8. Swim jig, spinnerbait, crankbait, lipless crankbait, or topwater. Depending on the depth, wind, cover, and structure of where I am fishing
  9. Sorry to hear this. I really liked his posts. R.I.P. @RoLo.
  10. My nephew learned this lesson a few years ago. He would always be the one to drive when him and his friends went somewhere or did something together. When his car up and died, his so called friends dropped him like a hot rock.
  11. We are thinking of you. Prayers sent.
  12. Wow. Just unbelievable how awful this is.
  13. Around here it kind of depends on the water you are fishing. I fish on one small lake where Spots and Red Eye Shads work. The bass won't touch a Trap. On a second lake, the bass want Traps, and Spots, but not Red Eye Shads. I usually take a few of each bait and try them all until I start getting bites.
  14. My tastebuds prefer bluegill, crappie, and catfish. I haven't eaten a bass in years.
  15. I use waterproof, expandable epoxy. Use a toothpick to get some into the tip top. If you apply to the rod, and the tip is a tight fit, then the glue may get pushed down the rod.
  16. I don't use a drop shot very much but I'll use either a 1/4 or 3/16 oz bullet weight.
  17. 5/8 Jitterbug Pop-R Super Spook Jr. 1/4 oz. swim jig 3/8 oz. bottom jig, 1/4 oz. Wakebait Spinnerbait Zoom Ultravibe Speed Craw Zoom Finesse Worm BPS Stiko
  18. Bantam 100 from the late 70's and the Curado 200 E7.
  19. Deep diving crankbaits and ploppers are on the bottom shelf in the basement. Bladed jigs still work, but they are not as effective as they used to be. Suspending jerkbaits work for me in larger bodies of water, but in smaller lakes and ponds it's a waste of time to fish with them.
  20. I know a lot of anglers around my area that had good luck on ploppers the first season they were out on the market. After that, not so much.
  21. I look for deals, and use a lot of gift cards. I will be paying full price for fishing license. No real way around that, at least for a few more years.
  22. I fish a lot of pressured water so I stick with what works. I wait to hear how others are doing with a new bait, or presentation, before I try it.
  23. Watch the water. Sometimes you can see a wind gust moving across the lake. I wait to cast until it passes.
  24. First off, welcome to the forums. As far as getting to the ramp early, Bassing bob's website estimates that the Big Bass Bash down at LOZ will have around 1500 boats this weekend.
