  1. Several years ago, instead of buying gas for the boat on the water, we were going into town and filling up gas cans a local gas station. One afternoon we run into town, fill up the cans, and when we get back it was time to eat. So we finish dinner, clean up, and then head out for a few hours of night fishing. About three hours and 5 miles later the boat runs out of gas, and we remembered that the gas cans were still in the truck. Luckily we had some paddles in the boat, and the wind was with us.
  2. Best wishes and prayers sent.
  3. This has been going on for how long?
  4. Hang in there. How long do you wear the sling?
  5. I take 4 rigs with me. Three baitcasters and a spinning reel. Jigs, Spinnerbaits / crankbaits, and weighted t-rigged plastics are what I use on the baitcasters. The spinning reel is for weightless plastics. If I hit on a pattern I will usually end up using one rig and putting the rest away.
  6. Usually it's that one skinny little branch that blends in and I don't see it until the bait is hanging from it.
  7. How far back are you talking? I had two I bought back in '03. The first one was a regular purchase, and the second one was an exchange for the first one. Ended up taking the second one back and getting an Abu 5600C3.
  8. I usually prefer to fish lakes. Rivers are ok just as long as the current is not too fast.
  9. LOL! Good one!
  10. Forget the bug spray and get a .22.
  11. Ruffles and Lays. I can go through a bag all by myself if I'm not careful.
  12. Wow, that is very innovative thinking. I like it.
  13. Eating turkey is one of my favorite things about this time of year. Turkey dinner on Thanksgiving, and turkey sandwiches for a week after that!
  14. Nothing store bought. I Need to fix up the tackle storage area. I have a couple ideas that I want to work on over the holidays.
  15. Some years back we lost a shallow running crankbait in a tree near the shore. About 10 months later we were fishing the same spot and went under that same tree. There hanging about a foot over our heads was that shallow running crankbait.
  16. I think that the fish get spooked more by the boat moving close to them than by noise. I bank fish about 1/3 of the time, and when I run off a bass in the shallow water I know it didn't hear me walking in the grass.
  17. Well I have a lot of BPS, St. Croix, and some old Daiwa rods. I like all of them as long as they can hold a fish.
  18. Mono. It is easier to break when you hang up the bait and can't get it loose.
  19. I have a mh 7' trigger rod that I use for anything over 1/4 ounce. This includes spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, bladed jigs, lipless, and crankbaits. Works great I have been using it for most of the fall. Baits that are 1/4 ounce and less I like to use a med. spinning rod, 6'6".
  20. I have had pretty good luck with a 1/2 ounce black jig and a blue trailer in muddy water. The bass seem to like the blue trailer better than a black one.
  21. Thank you for our freedom.
  22. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers. Hope you have a speedy and healthy recovery.
