  1. Mann's Baby One Minus in Fire Shad, Gray Ghost, and Brown Craw. BPS The Egg in XXX Shad.
  2. I'll fish with a heavy bait when it's windy even though I know my chances are better at catching with a smaller bait.
  3. Last year my cholesterol was borderline, so the doc put my on medicine. The next time I had it checked it had gone down 60 points. The problem with my blood pressure is that I always have my check up right after getting off of work. The highest it ever was was 200/160. He checked it several more times during the check up and it went down each time. My new Dr. wanted me to change diet, get more exercise, and if possible get a different job because the high BP appears to be stress related. I told her I was too old to do that, so on the BP meds I went.
  4. I like a firm pillow. When my head starts sinking into it, then it's time for a change.

The instrument panel. Everything back then was displayed by gauges, nothing was digital.
  6. Good video. Worms work all year long.
  7. About 16 or 17 years ago we had a drought going on here. I was walking the bank, fishing a lake that was around 50 acres or so in size when it was full. It was down about 6 feet at the time I was fishing it. It was a few days before Thanksgiving and windy so some of the dirt around the shore looked like it was dry and solid. I walked out on what I though was a dry point and sunk down in the mud up to my waist. The ground behind me was solid so I was able to pull myself out up out of the mud after about 5 minutes. I had about a 1/2 mile walk back to the car, and by the time I got there I was about frozen in those wet, muddy clothes. That was one time when I was glad to quit fishing and get home.
  8. If it were me I would get a ml/f in 7'0" instead of the 6'6". It's easier for me to cast those small moving type baits on a longer rod.
  9. I would use something small like a Rooster Tail or a Road Runner to try and determine what types of fish are in that pond. The small ponds around me, that are less than an acre in size, usually have a ton of bluegill in them.
  10. Weightless plastic worm
  11. It's been in the low 40's and high 30's a couple of times this past week. We are expected to get the first hard freeze of the season on Tuesday or Wednesday.
  12. Prayers sent.
  13. I'm finally starting to get bites on other baits than Scoundrels and Dingers. The bass are slowly starting to go after moving baits.
  14. I have a pistol grip that I bought from BPS about 20 years ago, and a 6'0" Daiwa pistol grip from around 1978 or so. Neither one see much action these days.
  15. 1/16 oz Rooster Tail, or a 1-1/2" Rapala Original Floating Minnow.
  16. I always try to look at where I am catching them at. Are they schooling in open water or are they all in heavy cover. If they are in open water then they may be schooling on smaller fish. If they are tight to cover then they may be trying to hide from larger fish.
  17. A lot. I usually start shallow and then work my way down the water column into deeper water. If I don't get bites I start working my way back up the water column.
  18. Missouri has a wide variety of fish species in a wide variety of bodies of water.
  19. Once I'm in casting or pitching distance I drop the anchor. A 15 pounder will hold the boat without any problem.
  20. I fish pretty regular until Thanksgiving. After that I need to watch the weather to see what the high temperature for the day will be. If there are a couple of warm days in a row I'll be out on the water.
  21. I had my two upper wisdom teeth pulled after they came in. One tooth on the bottom moved into a space that was left open by an abscess molar. The last wisdom tooth on the bottom is lying flat against my jawbone. Dentist said that they won't do anything with that one unless it just absolutely has to come out.
  22. Use it. Then when you are fishing with it and someone admires it, sell it to them with a good markup.
  23. Chatterbaits in the spring and fall. Buzzbaits in the summer when it is raining. The rest I fish all year long.
