  1. Maybe it's just me but that feature seems, well uhhh.. weird. A point of land with water flowing through the middle of it. Except for the Mississippi running out into the Gulf, it's just not something you see very often. At least not around my parts.
  2. Do a search on Google for the Lowrance 510C. There have been a number of places like BPS, Cabela's and a few others closing that unit out for under $350. Great finder.

Bill Dance taught many years ago. Always use as light a weight, given the conditions, that allows you to maintain contact with the bait.

  5. You either have a knack for something or you don't. Even among the "knackers" :-? there are those special few that operate on a higher plain than others without the extra effort that others would have to expend to reach that level. Those are the truely gifted, it's something you're born with and not something that can be learned. Tiger Woods, Mario Andretti, KVD, Michael Jordan, Albert Pujols are just a few of those gifted. They are also an exception. Many are just below their abilities and can only reach that performance level through hard work.
  6. Open the front livewell and measure how far forward it extends. Manufactures usually build boats with the compartments glassed onto the underside of the topdeck. You should allow for about an inch or two between the end of the LW front and the back of your tray hole.
  7. Talk about a slow, hanging curve ball.
  8. Table Rock can be tough during the summer. If they're generating through the dam, fishing below in Taneycomo for trout may be the better ticket. Don't miss the fish hatchery below the dam.
  9. Congrats to you Wayne. I wish you and your lady a lifetime of happiness.
  10. Did you you leave a deposit and get it in writing?
  11. If you can wait, I'll probably have an Eagle 320C, 6 months old with everything but the box for sale here by the end of the week. I'll probably ask $125.
  12. Here's a couple sites that offer alternatives to a complete wood rebuild of a transom. http://www.rotdoctor.com/glass/GLmain.html http://transomrepair.com/zk/transom.shtml You're going to spend around $400 minimum on either of these methods.
  13. The Pro Control tray by Polyfab out of Springfield Mo. will fit just about any foot pedal as the front part of the tray is more of a ramp vs. just a square box. As in any installation like this, open as many access openings as you can, pull your front electronics panel and fish a metal coat hanger you've straightened out and poke around. There will probably be a bunch of foam along with the possibility of 2x3 or 2x4 structural members attached to the underside of the deck. So far I've yet to hear of anyone having to cut through anything of significance. As in any project like this, measure about 3-4 times and cut once. I'd suggest at least a couple beers to gain the intestinal fortitude to start cutting. A sawzall works best.
  14. I love the techs answer. "That's normal for a bayliner" ;D You've got a rotten transom and that is pretty normal for a bayliner. That's a entry level boat builder that used shortcuts in the building process and didn't do a lot to treat the wood used in construction. Add to that poor fitting joints and seams at the back that if they aren't regularly sealed and you've got rotted wood. I'd follow Glades advice. A decent thickness aluminum plate will probably suffice as I don't really think that boat is worth the effort nor cash to rebuild a transom. Just know that if the motor falls off as you're going down the highway that I told you so.
  15. Sounds like you two had a great day on the water. 8-)
  16. To get to a good lake? 60-70 miles are the closest. To get to a reservoir that has good fishing with unlimited HP boat operation? 160 miles is the closest.
  17. Thanks guys. I can't wait to try this out.
  18. If somebody would come up with something like that for humans to swim around in after a night of drinking, they'd be rich.
  19. 1-15 1/4. I'm adding a quarter only because that fish looks like it hasn't taken a dump. I do love the Roland Martin, 'shove the fish into the camera lens to make it look way bigger than it really is' effect. If your arm was a foot longer it might look like a 2 1/2 lber.
  20. Yep, I've entered the 21st century finally & bought a GPS finder, Eagle 500C. It should tide me over till the SI Lowrances come out and then get de-bugged. Anyway. I have a question on the software available. First, what's Map create? What does it do? Is it useful? Second, between Navionics and Fishing Hotspots, which is the better software and why?
  21. RageTail & enough money left over to go fishing with I'll second Catts ragetails but I'd add some Chompers skirted twin tail grubs in colors of your choice for the smallies. They catch LM too BTW and work great on shakey heads.
  22. Glenn, I know you guys have a lot of footwork to do in getting these road trips organized and I want to thank you for that. After the great success of last year I'm sure this year will be even better. Senile has already committed so this will be his first, I'm betting it won't be his last either. Hopefully more will take the plunge. It's not all about the fishing though I'm betting we're going to see a few hawgs of both species caught. I'm there and will probably go down early just to chase the pro's around for a day. Shiloh military park is just up the road, I've been wanting to visit that for awhile now so I will probably take some time out on Saturday or Sunday to go experience the park.
  23. 8-) Cool, a power tool pizzing thread. ;D I use Dewalt but would also go with Milwaukee too.
